That pace is with Siri holding the entire offense back while we raged on the game day threads.

A 5000 and 45 pace was easily in range with the talent and his performance.

He was 2nd team all-pro QB behind Mahomes and he was 2nd in MVP voting.

Mahomes and Hurts then met in the SB and Hurts was awesome.

Hurts was clearly and obviously beyond any doubt one of the two best QBs in 2022.

Josh Allen had 19 turnovers that year. Buffalo had a legit shot at 16-0. (no 17th game due to the Damar Hamlin injury)

They lost 3 games by a total of 8 points. Allen had 11 sacks, 4 picks, 6 fumbles, 2 lost in those 3 games.

Imagine if Hurts did that in this town...

There was zero possibility for Hurts to perform at that same level with the OCs in 2023 and 2025 and obvious run heavy offense in 2024.

Anyone think he should have put up 4000+ passing and 35 TDs in year 1 as a starter with:

JJAW

splitting 131 targets?

He had those idiots at OC in 2023 and 2025 and still vastly outplayed most other QBs in non-optimal years

Look at every year of Jim Kelly's career that is not 90 or 91.

2024 Hurts was a vital part of a dominant run game that set the record for rushing yards in a combined season and won the SB scoring the most points in playoff history... how dare he not throw more and maybe lose an extra game or two? 55-23 and 40-6 + garbage time was not enough style?

The problem is never with his clear and obvious HoF level play through 5 years as a starter Jalen Hurts.

I blame most of the season the line not being healthy. Manning had down seasons. It happens. He still won more than 10 games. Now if he craps the bed this season and next, then the conversation changes. We arent there and I dont see us being there anytime soon. Is he my favorite qb in the league? No. Am I glad he is our qb. Watson drops from 10th to 12th. (He was living off of his 2018 and 2020 seasons)

Hurts improves his passer rating from 94.4 to 94.8 (Allen did about the same so they are still probably in a virtual tie for 20th)

Allen was a touch higher today but he has more history to pull.

Baker was trash today. Burrow tried to lose the game with a pick 6 to Trotter but Baker was worse.

What really sets him apart is between his ears. He doesn't hide. He comes through when it matters most. His mentality takes him further than his skill set. I think you read my reply wrong. This thread proves that a large majority of posters here (and likely Eagles fans everywhere) support Jalen Hurts. So I don't really see the reason to use this thread to continue to further a PR campaign without actually being prompted (i.e. unless the reply is a direct rebuttal to a recent post).

I've certainly defended many an Eagles player here and I still do. I just don't believe I've ever spontaneously posted propaganda as a proactive defense. I also believe that every player that currently wears an Eagles uniform deserves support. Even after a guy has a bad game like Dickerson had, I'm rooting for him to get back on track. In his case it might take a while since the blocking schemes are different than they were under Stoutland. Rest assured I respect the right to be critical of a bad performance, decision, play, etc...

My biggest gripe with Hurts is that I think he should run more than he currently does. I believe his legs are an underutilized asset.

Talking about your SB MVP elite QB with HoF trajectory stats and record is not propaganda. Its really weird to use the term for 1930-40s Germany and Trumpe(R)s about positive remarks and accurate stats for the awesome starting QB on a football message board.

They lose by 10 in that game with Justin Herbert or Matt Stafford at QB.
