The last 45 seconds to 25 seconds is the reason i gave a couple weeks back. I really thought it would come after the bye

Im very sure this is all about securing the tank and not McKee's performance which was very acceptable for a QB2 with this roster in its current state.

Its a shame things this obvious need to be stated, and then debated in the blog these days. Sad...

I see you're in full blown denial. We have averaged 15 ppg with McKee. Only the Chargers at 14.1 ppg are worse than that.

way to commit to the bit.

Yeah I'm the one committing to the bit as you're calling for the Eagles to trade for Stetson Bennett.

they need a backup QB for next season. Maybe even a starter.

Everyone knows those things. There is literally no bit.

I don't think Joe Milton is good, but he might be fun!

Hilarious that it took 3 games of McKee for coaches to say no more. Yet some insisted he was better than Jalen.

Stetson Bennett is on the last year of his rookie deal and has thrown 3 passes in his NFL career. It makes absolutely zero sense to trade anything for him with the intention of him being the primary backup. Even less sense (none at all) as a starter.

They have Milton right now trying out to be back as the backup next year. They have Cole Payton under contract who will no doubt be playing at some point towards the end of the year.

Trading Riq Woolen for Bennett is one of the single dumbest trade ideas I have ever read here. Even if the Eagles end up only getting a 6th or 7th round comp pick for Woolen that will be immensely more valuable than half a season of Stetson Bennett watching Joe Milton from the bench.

So, why would you rent him in a trade?

I wouldnt expect you to know any better. Thanks for your input!

Why would that be the assumption?

Sometimes its a rental, but often times teams know a player is willing to re-sign prior to doing the deal.

Very funny coming from the poster here who has been on an all time run of having the absolute worst takes that always blow up in your face. No one else here has proven to be so consistently with their football takes as you have been. It's remarkable really.

I know you like to say that, but.... thats just another one of your terrible takes that always blows up in your face.

Why trade anything for him at all? You think it'll be a tough bidding war in the offseaason between the Eagles and a CFL team if the Eagles want to sign him in free agency?

What a quote!

I think bringing him in as FA is interesting, but short-term we seemed to have embraced the tank so why burn the trade capital. Beyond this season, the future of the offense is completely up in the air so why commit to any player now.

The reason they're sitting McKee is that he had plenty of time to get up to speed on the offense, so that's not an excuse (in August yes, not November).

McKee simply doesn't process fast enough, with limited mobility, his avenue to success was going to be his IQ, but I don't see it.

Yes, he faces a lot of pressure, but he's also has had bad footwork, and doesn't see the field and make quick decisions.

After 4 years of coaching, at some point he is what he is.

Just STFU, Kuper sucks ass.

So we listen when Mailata talks about Stoutland, but STFU when he discusses Kuper.

Just want to make sure I get the memo on how the hive mind is supposed to think.

I’ve never seen Milton play. I’ll only say that athletic qb’s with huge frames and arm talent that sit on practice squads are usually a special kind of awful.

Does Mailata seem like the type of guy who would say anything else? He’s not going to throw him under the bus. Players always blame themselves and coaches blame themselves as well.

Frankly, it doesn’t matter how awful he is. We’re trying to lose games now to get a better draft pick. I said two weeks ago, I would let him start after the bye (two weeks too prepare and a full month here) because you wanna get at least an evaluation for a couple of games about what he is or isn’t. Hes likely to suck but eagles obviously liked him enough to pluck him off PS of Dallas. You hope by around week 15 that maybe you can play the rookie Payton because the offensive line is playing better and you have some guys back. So you’re not just sending them out into a terrible situation as a rookie.

IMO there is no better backup QB in the league as he looks like one with potential to be a starter.

I dont mind getting him in the door early. Especially if they can work an extension as part of the deal.
