EMB Blog: 2026 Regular Season (Part 1)

Featured Replies

It’s officially a lost season just 6 weeks in. The only solace for a fall bereft of football excitement on Sundays is a very, very high draft pick.

They need to commit to not screwing that up. Starts with leaving Hurts on IR. Woolen, Ojomo, Nolan Smith are the prime trade candidates. Barkley if he ever gets healthy and can get a good game in. Even Goedert if someone needs a TE.

Time to commit to it.

Ill commit if it looks just as bad next week.

Im interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on the eagles conspiracy to sabotage McKee so people wont be calling for Hurts to be benched/cut/traded. You have a healthy starting center, but decide to start the 4th stringer.

hmmm....

No, all playoff teams draft after non playoff teams. Earliest they could draft is 21st.

I don’t know man, yesterday looked pretty bad for all 4 quarters. It wasn’t like we showed life in the 1st quarter and then it filtered out, we looked cooked at the start of the game.

I think mannion is a lazy OC. I think Sirianni actually puts in the time but he's too dumb to implement anything to change this. After Mckee's play yesterday I would say I'd rather see Milton next week, but I don't think mannion will change anything or spend the extra time to work with Milton to get him ready. but Miltons skills are definitely closer to hurts than mckee and with his arm we could throw in some additional concepts. Could be interesting and at least give us something to watch.

McKee did some good things and overall, an offense that was installed for Jalen Hurts already this week before the injury news, looked horrid, pretty much as expected.

Im waiting to see the offense install for McKee next week. I stated that before the game. Last night, Devonta Smith confirmed that exact sentiment. So Im sticking with it. 1 more week. Then it is decision time.

This secondary is trash besides Q. Cooper is looking like Blankenship last year. Getting roasted. We need to revisit the must keeps here by the end of this year. I have a question mark by DeJean & Hunt. Both have crapped the bed this year. Howie will probably give them huge contracts 😅 after rewarding Carter for absolutely nothing (but spitting on Prescott) last year and JD for 1 season of being a good vibes run stuffer and in shape for the 1st time ever. Q is the only guaranteed guy you sign as of today for the big money. Sheet changed fast in 20 months huh?

Coop is playing hurt since week 1 against Washington...still doing better than most out there. The D is on the field for far too long and Vic's unwillingness to even remotely throw a blitz

in there to possibly shorten the time is frustrating as hell

I don't know how often a team has ever fired its OL coach mid-season. On top of that, actually improved the issue. But the first had to roll imo needs to be Kuper.

Did anyone notice Mailata sucking yesterday just like the rest of them?

Maybe there’s merit to that. I don’t know enough about O-Line play but I can’t see how that would make the offense any better.

We don’t know a whole lot about what goes on behind the scenes but Mannion needs to go. This just isn’t working and couldn’t get much worse if you or I were running the offense.

Sirianni has earned finishing the season. Let him run the offense the rest of the season. It probably won’t get any better but they need to make some sort of big change.

The problem is, they probably still believe they can win the division.

The tanking is inexorable. Embrace it.

If it comes to tanking, that is going to be a huge problem. Even if they try to tank they may still win the division by accident.

I dont know if it matters that the game plan was put in for Hurts. Will that magically fix our UC game? Will that magically fix the OL? We’re talking about a QB that somehow lost a competition with the corpse of Andy Dalton. The fact that we even traded for Dalton should speak volumes.

The best hope is that Barkley gets healthy, Kendall gets healthy and maybe Dickerson is a functional version of himself.

The scheme is hopeless unless it’s scrapped for a shotgun spread. Will we do it?

Of course it matters.

The bigger problem is that they still actually can. If Hurts comes back and everyone gets healthy and they steal a game or two in the meantime (a lot of ifs, I know), they really could. This division is so, so bad.

Problem is the only thing that accomplishes is ruining draft position.

Pretty rough statement from McKee, talking about communication. They scrapped the Tough. Detailed. Together slogan this year and I guess its showing.

"My team needs me to be better. I need to be better. I am so much better, and I'm looking forward to learning everything and becoming the player that I know I am, the player that I can prove that I am. A lot of things obviously that were frustrating fall on me. A lot of things we've got to get fixed as an offense for sure. I mean, even from the jump, just communication. Whether it was guys in the wrong spot, I've got to get them fixed or a missed call, I've got to get it fixed. That falls on the quarterback. That is nobody else's responsibility but the quarterback's. That's on me. We had two drives that stalled just from miscommunications or things like that, that I've got to get fixed. I think I've got to settle down a little quicker. Obviously, those first two drives were some of those drives that stalled because of the miscommunication. So, I've got to go out and be ready to roll. I felt like I was just prepared and everything, but I've got to be able to make those adjustments on the fly.”

The only difference is that a healthy Hurts probably ducks some free rushers and has some big runs.

If we decided to go shotgun only, I'd get it.

Mckee’s upside is a serviceable backup that doesn’t lose a backup qb competition to Andy Dalton. Obviously, he has not yet achieved that upside. Aka, he’s awful.

The fact that the offense is even worse with a qb under center that is worse than Andy Dalton is not a reason to say that Hurts "covered up so much for this offense.” It was a bottom 3 offense with him. That’s not covering up so much.

It’s time to rebuild.

They need to get out from their Greenard investment asap.

Bingo - otherwise Mannion is just dialing up TFLs… this is the switch that Siri has made in prior years, but what’s next? Can we pass our way out of it from shotgun like a better version of the Saints (hopefully)?
