Tank Bigsby

Featured Replies

Last year averaged almost 6 YPC and only had 63 carries. I assumed the idiocy of the coaching malfeasance to not get him more touches was on Patulo. Now we’re seeing the same and it makes me think it was Sirianni all along.

I love Saquon, but Tank is the LeGarrett Blount type of player we need in the offense. For the life of me I can’t comprehend why there is not a 60/40 split. Hell, I’d take 70/30. But at no point should Shipley have more carries than Tank.

Don’t know how Tank got so few touches in this one.

It was Week 1. Lots of football still to come.

Agreed....and I will stand on this one but I think alot of the bad decisions is Sirianni....that is just one of them.....like I previously said....he is nothing but a glorified cheerleader and doesn't know much about football...

Its easy, Siri is a moron.

I’m not disputing that but we seen 18 weeks of it last year. I’m willing to bet this is a rerun.

He needs more touches…….every game!

Wash, rinse, repeat.

What does the Coaching Staff know or see that we don’t?! His production is pretty good. Is he a bad practice player? Can’t grasp a blocking/blitz pickup? 🤔

Arguably the highest profile player on the offense is Barkley so they probably want him on the field as often as they can get away with, not only because he's a dangerous player, but also because it keeps the defense on their tows. Last season when Barkley was off the field AJ Brown was still on the field, so it kept defenses guessing a little more. It could be as simple as that little psychological nuance.

That makes no sense, respectfully.

It’s week one so I mean plenty of football to play. But yeah I couldn’t understand it either.

Tank is a beast. He’s the kind of runner who could get you a couple of positive yards even with the OL blocking so badly. He’s the kind of RB who can run through the first contact.

There were times on Sunday when they put Shipley in there. I don’t get that? I’m not big on Shipley, I wouldn’t have kept him around, but the team are. So okay you want to mix him in. But he is a similar style to Saquon and that wasn’t really working outside of the really good long run. So that just made no sense.

There was only 50 offensive plays. It's simple math.

50 plays, so Tank gets a grand total of, one. You got the simple part right.

Maybe if we used our effective weapons like Bigsby, we wouldn’t go 3 and out on consecutive drives and thus only having 50 offensive plays.

They don't lose a whole lot when Bigsby is in for Barkley.......He's a different kind of runner but more physical......the guy produces, can give Barkley a breather and can get hard yardage.

No way Shipley should be in instead of Bigsby...

It's all part of Sirriani's genius plan. You can't turn the ball over if your offense isn't on the field.

Roll Safe GIFs | Tenor

The middle of the OL was the biggest problem on Sunday. More plays for Bigsby wouldn't have changed that.

See what happens this week.

Remember that it was Week #1. You never really know what you have until Weeks 4-6.

We know what we have with Tank and Saquon. Just don’t know what is there for them in the new Offense.

Which made me wonder, from my post above, if Tank is possibly having some small issues with the new O.

Granted, duh, I know Saquon is a better RB. BUT, Tank still should get 6-8 touches a game. IMO.

Doesn't really make sense to see Shipley get touches over Tank - sorry but Shipley has had enough camps, preseasons and games to show something and he hasn't, not enough to warrant sharing carries with Tank.

After Barkley it should be Tank, period.

Did you really need to type this? Did it have the results you were looking for?

This same offensive line had problems last year and Tank averaged 5.7 YPC for the season.

No way Tank should only get 1 carry..that was just stupid. and I have no problem with Shipley getting his but Tank should get no less than 5 carries a game.

NFL offenses average about 63 snaps per game. Last year, the Eagles averaged 62.6 offensive snaps per game. Last year Bigsby played in 13% of the offensive snaps after he was traded. He averaged just under 8 snaps per game with the Eagles last year. He had 3.8 touches per game last year on offense. In week 1 this season he played in 11% of the offensive snaps, (6 plays) and had 1 touch. Since Barkley is the RB1, he will come out of the game occasionally to get rest, but he will be expected to be in for a certain amount of plays. When the total number of offensive plays is less than average, the backups will see less snaps and touches. In week 1, Bigsby averaged 3 ypc and Barkley averaged 5.5 ypc ... "with the same offensive line."

Shipley played 4 more snaps than Bigsby. He was part of a package that had both Barkley and Shipley in the game at the same time, likely because he's a better receiver than Bigsby in the coaches' eyes.

You typed all of this to still be wrong. Impressive

Here’s the RB carries, per game, in a perfect world 😎:

Saquon - 15 to 20

Tank - 8 to 10

Ship - 4 to 6

//end thread.

😁🦅🦮🏄

They hinted that we might see two back sets with Tank and Barkley....give defenses two things to worry about, I think John Gruden did this in 95-96 with Garner/Watters...but i think it was very rare...but it would be interesting to see both of them in two back sets....aspects of NFL offenses seem to be returning to favor, FBs for example...maybe we will start to see more 'I' formations and two back sets?
