The cap guys can answer this better, but the time to trade him would have been before the new contract. I believe if they would trade him now there would be a massive cap hit. He isn't getting traded.

$26M dead money hit if we trade him this year, $18M next year (both pre-June 1 designations). Drops to $13.8 in 2028.

Post June 1: $7.8M this year, $4.6M in each of the following 2 years.

Do we really see a scenario where both Hurts and Sirianni are not a part of this team in 2027?

Howie/Lurie need to soon decide which is more valueable to stay, Hurts or Sirianni.......because this duo is not successful. It has been BOOM or BUST the entire Sirianni era.......and it has granted us some great times but this s*** has to change and go in a different direction.

If we move on from Hurts, we will also need a new head coach and OC.

I don't think they should trade anybody of value but they should not trade any draft chocies for rentals/short-term fixes as this team isn't going anywhere. I don't want to see them be like the Phillies who have gutted the farm system for rentals that have gotten them nowhere. The Phillies corre hasn't been good enough since 2023 and now the Eagles core isn't good enough. Now the Phillies are in a world of sh+t. Draft choices in football equate to the farm system in baseball.

Hurts’ 300 yard passing games:

2024- 1 (14 games)

2025- 1 (17 games)

2026- 0 (4 games)

That can’t win in today’s NFL.

Honest question, even if/when Siri is fired, is this even a desirable job at this pt?

This has been a really good question since Kelly was fired. Between Pederson and Sirianni, it seems they hire lesser know/desired candidates and compensate for it by acquiring talent. They struck it big with both getting a SB so it's hard to fault it. But the point remains that the current structure in Philly is quite possibly seen as less desirable by many top HC candidates.

I agree. The one thing I've struggled with is figuring out which of Hurts/ Siri is more of the problem. I lean Siri, because he just has never shown any offensive prowess and he can't scheme his way out of a paper bag. But does it look like that because of Hurts' limitations?

Good question there....we all know Hurts has always been limited and when they were running the RPO heavily he looked unstoppable but now that that is gone, he looks like a below average QB who can only do one read....I was trying my hardest to support him these past few years but its getting harder and harder to do that....what we need is a traditional QB under center....I was watching the Lions and Panthers game last night and to see Bryce Young find open receivers while getting defenders in his face made me long for the days of when we had a very capable quarterback here...

I wasn't even looking at that angle when I posed the question.

I was largely referring to the roster. An aging OL, Saquon whose very likely done making any magic happen (not saying hes completely done), and very niche qb who leaves much to be desired, a wr room pretty barren past smitten, an overpaid dl, and slop at safety.

On top of what you mentioned its hard to imagine anyone beating down the door to come coach here.

They will have plenty of decent candidates. New Orleans was considered a basket case franchise as was Cleveland. Yet Moore and Monken took the jobs. Neither one of those guys have

final say.

Yeah, I hear ya there. Hard to find those QBs though. Hurts is what he is...he's a mediocre QB. His running/RPO offense and being able to throw the deep ball on occasion with WRs who can win contested catches are what has made him successful. He is not good enough to overcome deficiencies, just like the coaching staff. It's a bad combo.

Agreed. This is why I said AJ leaving and people thinking its addition by way of subtraction was in for a rude awakening. It wasn't that AJ was so fast or anything he was just big and outmuscles for the ball and we have no one that has filled that void (although Cooper is making his claim for that spot).....with no Smitty its just nothing he can do and unless he can make better reads and throws he will be getting worse.....

Eh, I don't know about that. Back in 2016 when we hired Pederson, Ben McAdoo and Adam Gase were the consensus best candidates and they chose elsewhere after interviewing. Obviously they both stunk, but the point is at that time they were considered the best candidates. Same thing in 2021 before we settled on Sirianni. Same thing for OC this year before settling on Mannion.

There's a reason for all this and it's likely the Eagles' organizational structure as being the reason. Remember when the FO seemed to be making decisions for Pederson? Or forcing his hand about coordinators? They've done the same with Sirianni too. They do not want a HC who wants a certain level of control. Chip Kelly really tainted them on this.

true we got a Super Bowl with both, and 2 appearances with Sirianni, but let's be honest. Both of those trophies were bought. Yes we had a core of talent but we also stacked the team with players on the short term contracts that were here for the sole purpose of winning the Super Bowl. Especially that first one. And I think they tried it again when we lost to the Chiefs that one year.

This is every franchise trying to win a championship.

I think we’re a year or two late rebuilding the oline. If Dickerson and Lane were both completely healthy, it might be different. If the line was dominating or even performing top ten, everything would look different and a lot of the other problems would go unnoticed.

Sirianni is a great head coach… when he has great coordinators under him. The problem is when he doesn’t have great coordinators, he doesn’t seem to be able to fix them. When he does have great coordinators under, they get poached the next year. Except Fangio, because he’s old and probably doesn’t want to be a head coach anymore.

If we can get a plus starter at guard and move Jurgens back to center that might be enough bandaide to get Dickerson and/or Lane back.

Lanes replacement should have been starting at RG this year and last, ready to fill in for him 3-5 weeks a year.

That's why mostly everyone was predicting OL with our first round pick this last draft. That said, it wasn't like there was any OL player in particular worthwhile when they were on the clock. Monroe Freeling was off the board by then.

Markel Bell was solid in his first game, though. But we'll see about him once defenses get some film to study on him.

It's just ashame how deteriorated Dickerson and Jurgens have become...while in their prime years. Otherwise, we'd only have to worry about replacing Lane. At least Drew Kendall is playing well for the most part. We need to get Lampkin in there to see what he can do.

It’s possible that Hurts is a problem but I know Sirianni is a problem. He can’t call either side of the ball and his flaws don’t keep Jalen in line for any of Jalen’s flaws. A Super Bowl winning coach should command the room, Nick is not that guy.

Bell and Kendall could give Eagles a solid nucleus on Oline to build with. I also liked what I saw from Bell on his unexpected debut at the last minute despite that ugly whiff on Byron Young that led to a sack....

Considering everything, I thought he looked good. Probably the only bright spot from yesterday

If that Astros dude does not make the catch on the wall...

The Phillies win it all.

Is Topper a great coach now?

Treat Siri like a hockey coach. He has absolutely 100% lost the locker room...

FOR THE THIRD TIME IN 4 YEARS!!!

Zero discipline.

Zero accountability or Cam would take himself out of games.

The team needs a new voice.

We can pretend he will be great somewhere else and wish him well.

Sometimes great teams have great coaches.

Bruce Bochy in SF. He winds up winning again in Texas of all places.

Joe Gibbs wins 3 SBs with 3 QBs and then dominates NASCAR.

Andy turned Ray Bob joke Philly into a powerhouse. Then he turned 40 year joke KC into a powerhouse.

Siri is just a loudmouth who was surrounded by greatness on all levels.

if there was a year to have a massive amount of injuries, this is it - I'm getting 2012 and 2020 vibes from 2026 so far. The 2027 draft is supposed to be stacked.

Maybe we finish 2-15?
