I was listening to conservative talk radio today and a guy called in to say he committed crimes similar to Hunter’s, but did 15 months in federal prison.

you so mad today. upset that all money time and effort spent on this under trump and now biden, only amounted to these charges ?

Merely pointing out to all of you objective, impartial, non-TDS, "undecided voters" how blatantly absurd and hypocritical you are doesnt make me mad at all.

I actually find this fun, we're having a good time here.

riiiiiiight

I challenge any of you dimwits with the pent up impotent rage about Hunter to come up with a list of people who receive jail time after failing to file their taxes but subsequently paying their tax bill in full including penalties.

It just doesn't happen.

People that go to jail under these circumstances are those who repeatedly fight and refused to pay. Not people who pay late.

Oh, was it any of us that appointed the soft on crime corrupt DA that has reached this plea deal with Hunter Biden?  I thought that was Masterclass Trump who appointed him.

hey now, for every bad hire there are 10 that still love him.

Wah, Wah, Hunter Biden got off with a speeding ticket. Wah, Wah.

Mike Pence had classified documents and he only turned them over after he got caught. Wah, Wah. Wah.

Joe Biden has far more than the 102 classified documents or the 12,000 total documents, I had. And he's not indicted yet. Wah, Wah, Wah.

It's a corrupt justice system, unfair to Republicans. Wah, Wah, Wah.

Nobody able to come up with a list of prosecutions with prison sentences for what Hunter did?

Weird.

If only Tucker hadn't lost the hard drive in the mail.

Or if Trump had made this a priority during his term. I bet his weaponized DOJ would have been WAY better than Sleepy Joe's.

Hmm, the prosecutor in the Hunter Biden case was appointed by....

Drumpf.

Here are a few for lying on form 4473, I spent about 2 minutes on this:

Amy Carwile

Kevin Carwile

Haley Leeanne Adkison

Joshua David Moseley

I'm sure if you search you can find a lot more.

The Carwiles were firearms dealers. They sold hundreds of weapons off the books and 4473 was only one of many other associated charges. They ultimately served 3 months.

I cannot find anything on Adkison or Moseley in terms of sentencing. It's well past guilty pleas, so I would guess no prison time only fines and probation, but I am only speculating.

OSHUA DAVID MOSELEY, 31, of Harrah, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on September 6, 2022, to making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm.  According to public record, Moseley attempted to purchase a firearm from Super Pawn #2 Inc., in Oklahoma City.  Moseley checked "no” for having been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.  Public records show that, on January 6, 2022, Mosely was convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault and battery in Oklahoma County District Court case CM-2021-1377.  At sentencing, Moseley faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

Yes, I know. I cannot locate anything indicating sentencing for that case. If he was sentenced it should be public record, no?

The claim I made was that nobody gets prison time for failing to file taxes after ultimately paying them in full. Those that receive prison sentences for failing to file do so because of a litany of related charges failing to pay taxes.

Generally the same is true for lying on form 4473. They're not sending people to federal prison for misleading on that form, absent some additional transgressions. The Carwiles committed a LOT of significant firearms-related crimes and only got 3 months. 4473 was way down the list of their charges.

My point is that the right wants to invent this idea that "normal people" get the book thrown at them for what Hunter did, and the fact is that they do not. They get indicted, and if they fight and ultimately are convicted they may receive prison time. If they plea out and there are not extenuating circumstances they usually get a fine and/or probation.

Which is what Hunter got. And is appropriate within sentencing guidelines.

This myth that Hunter is getting special treatment is manufactured by right wingers who want to see the DOJ weaponized against anyone connected to the left. And their projecting their nonsense on Joe because it's politically advantageous.

It's nauseating.
