Everything is about the Harris Administration. Joe won't last 12 months and she'll take over. They couldn't get a woman in directly with Hillary, so now they slide one in as a VP who is waiting her turn. Once she's in, she'll name AOC as VP. What a coup for the left!

I know this is the line of thinking Trump supporters go down when all attacks on Joe don't stick, but I don't see any reason to believe Joe won't last at least 2-3 years if not the full first term.

After that, we'll see who the Republicans put up. 

While I think VP choices are a little more in the conversation when the guy sat the top of the ticket are pushing 80, it's still about the guy at the top of the ticket. And Joe is in pretty good shape for 77. Far better than Trump. I don't see Trump out there riding bikes and jogging up steps.

Harris was a calculated risk for Biden, to be sure. She was more likely to alienate moderates than some other choices might have, but also more likely to ensure support from the left. 

That said, I am much more willing to roll the dice that Biden is going to see through at least one term as president vs. another four years of this dunce.

I'm just having some fun on the last day before this vote-apalooza finally gets under way. In the end, I suspect neither party ever gets a super majority so the Constitution should be safe, which generally means things go on much as they have these past 50 years. The government overspends, borrows $, periodically raises taxes, and social programs come and go. The decision makers never suffer real consequences, the poor stay poor, the wealthy get wealthier, and time marches on without a care in the world for whatever we concern ourselves with.

I think Harris does help you ensure that you don't get attacked from the left. He's trying to build a broad coalition, not an exclusively centrist one. If he loses we can assess whether or not it was risky, but Harris doesn't seem to be hurting him (at least not enough) in swing states like PA/WI/MI, and she may well be helping in GA/NC. 

It's not easy for the opposition to argue against a presidential ticket based on the vice presidential nominee, but it does signal to the butthurt Bernie bros that he's willing to listen and be inclusive.
