Didn't you see July and August were also revised up? These are initial numbers. Labor participation rate fell to rates not seen since all the way back in ... June. "lots" dropping out of the workforce = 0.1% .. I thought when the pandemic benefits ran out all these sidelined workers would jump back into the workforce. That's what the red staters told us, despite the fact that killing benefits earlier didn't change anything in red states. (That's not to say I support continuation of those benefits at this stage. But I was skeptical it would make any difference in employment levels considering what happened to these red states when they cut them earlier.)

That said, I actually assumed that as soon as my money hits any bank it's more or less known to authorities. At least practically speaking. Your assumption is incorrect. Currently, the IRS needs to serve the bank with a summons if a taxpayer under audit refuses to turn over bank records voluntarily. And if this were to pass, the 2021 version would likely morph into something completely more invasive. This would lead to banks giving the IRS a complete snapshot of practically all bank activity - summary of deposits, and summary of all withdrawals, checks, payees; effectively giving the government a snapshot of all your financial activity at the bank - and with ever evolving computer capabilities, allowing the government to conduct electronic audits of practically all taxpayers simultaneously and in the blink of an eye. Combine this legislation with an upgrade of the government computers and software, and no telling where all of this could lead. Nip it in the bud now!

Obviously, 9/11 is what caused GWB to be so overwhelmingly popular in October 2001. It almost feels as if once we lost the Soviets as our external adversary, we had to look internally for someone to hate. I guess said another way...maybe the Russians are playing the long game to win the Cold War. Democrats and Republicans both vigorously fought the Cold War. So even though there were lots of disagreements in domestic policy there was always common ground in foreign policy. After the Cold War ended though it got harder to find common ground in foreign policy.

Wonder what it will take for people to realize. Their tactics are more nuanced, maybe Americans need a nuke pointed at them like during the Cold War to recognize the threat.

October 12, 20214 yr https://www.forbes.com/sites/patrickgleason/2021/09/22/bidens-proposed-irs-bank-account-snooping-authority-runs-into-state-resistance/ A White House or Congress can propose all manner of controversial policies, as is occurring now, but state lawmakers can fight back in a number of ways. Such resistance is now underway in the Maine Legislature, with lawmakers in other states likely to follow suit. A resolution introduced in the Maine House of Representatives today, September 22, urges U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R), Angus King (I), and the rest of the Maine congressional delegation to oppose President Joe Biden’s proposal to empower the IRS to monitor aggregate transactions going into and out of personal and business bank accounts whose value or total transactions exceed $600 in value, which ensnares the majority of active bank accounts. As the new state resolution filed by Maine Representative John Andrews points out, "President Joe Biden wants the IRS to have automatic access to information about every Americans' bank account as well as every PayPal, Venmo, and CashApp account, even if without any accusations of wrongdoing.”

October 12, 20214 yr I’m embarrassed as anyone Creepy Joe is President of the United States, but the "F Joe Biden” chants are out of line. Call him illiterate. Make fun of him for spending the campaign in hiding. Ask him if he’s figured out the difference between his wife and his sister, yet. But, the overly profane stuff in crowds is too much.

It’s an organized thing from somewhere. I was at a public event last weekend and there was a dip sheet walking around through the crowd with all the trump grift items… hat, shirt, flag. Loser had face paint on. He was actively trying to get a chant going, but everyone just looked at him like the loser he is, asked him to stop because there were kids around and he finally moved on. DFCOTP.
