  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

I love when he goes all alpha like that. When we build the golden statue, this would be a good moment to use for it. On the podium, projecting power, telling people what's what.

Even if he's lying his arse off so hard that CNN calls BS.

🤣🤣🤣

It's really stunning how nobody in government understands this. Crack spreads are being driven higher because of the rebound in the demand for gas, and because a ton of refining capacity came offline during the pandemic.

Quote

As a result of several U.S. refinery closures in 2020, U.S. operable atmospheric crude oil distillation capacity, the primary measure of refinery capacity in the United States, dropped 4.5% to a total of 18.1 million barrels per calendar day (b/cd) at the start of 2021. The end-of-year 2020 total is 0.8 million b/cd less than the 19.0 million b/cd of refining capacity at the start of 2020. According to the data in our annual Refinery Capacity Report, the beginning of 2021 marks the lowest annual capacity figure to start the year since 2015. Based on information reported to us in our recent update, U.S. refining capacity will not expand significantly during 2021.

It is completely uneconomical to build a new refining plant given all the regulations, and building one takes YEARS even if they wanted to. Pumping more oil will just widen crack spreads further. We need more refining capacity, and that just can't happen.

I have a few ideas, if he's asking.

Lets start with undoing everything he did in his first week of office....

Just a guess, not sure these same oil companies are inclined to help him at the moment, since he is against their industry as a whole, and will only turn on them again.

Won't do a damn thing. You're making the same mistake Biden is. This isn't about the supply of oil, it's about refining capacity.

You need to figure out a way to bring mothballed refineries back online. This requires capital and a serious reduction in environmental compliance regulation. Back in ~2008, the Delaware City refinery, which had been acquired by Valero, shut down because of high costs and a lack of demand (financial crisis), causing a loss of over 1,000 jobs. The state of DE gave a new owner serious tax breaks and environmental waivers in order to get it re-opened like 18 months later. That's what we need -- ways to being this capacity back online. Once you shut one of these down...restarting it is a monster effort.

Smoke and mirrors, I’m sure the White House knows this.  He needs to look like he’s working on it.  Public will eat it up.  Transfer blame to big oil companies.

What an unmitigated disaster of a presidency

Which is why we don't want someone who talked about running for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th term and tried to stay in power after he was voted out.

Yes, yes...we are all well aware how much you hate Trump.  Obviously, we're much better off with Biden...things are going swimmingly.

And spare me your libertarian nonsense....it was a binary choice.

It absolutely was a binary choice. For this reason alone Biden was the better choice, if he loses in 2024 he won't try to use violence to stay in power.

He simply paraphrased what the Trump said. What does that have to do with "hating" him?  Did he not say exactly that?

Just curious, but how much more would Biden have to implode for you to concede that the two choices were equally dangerous?

Nice to see that despite being unasked to do so, you've come to his defense once again. And you didn't even get a like in return.  That's too bad.

you mean he won't have his rabid supporters threaten kamala harris' life?  pfft...does he even know how to president?  :nonono:

And yet, some of us managed to vote for neither of them.

I don't do it for the likes. But at least answer, did Trump say what he quoted or not?

And I see that you still use your decision to project moral superiority over everyone else.

I have no idea.  You and your friends in here are the only people that still seem to care.

No. Just you.

Yes you do. You just can't say it out loud. I'd be embarrassed as well if I voted for that pig.
