The guy mobilized FEMA to get shots in arms while Trump spent two months queefing over losing the election and trying to violently overthrow it.

For that alone he's a far better president - and a far far better human being - than Trump will ever be.

You idiots pining for Trump are completely blind to the damage he inflicted on our nation. The guy would wipe his ass with the constitution if he thought it would have bought him one more day as president.

That is not the kind of person that should EVER be president.

Biden may be quite far down the list of people I'd prefer to see as president. But he is way way way ahead of Trump.

If all you care about is today and tomorrow, Trump's selfish me-me-me politics speak to you I guess.

If you actually care about America (and not just how it can enrich you right now), the Constitution, and what kind of nation we're leaving to our kids, the choice is not difficult.

You opted to not care about the future. That only makes you a selfish nihilist. Cool, but own it.

This "mobilization of FEMA," did it actually make any difference whatsoever??

Youre saying his crowning achievement, which makes him better than Trump, was to try and distribute the vaccine created under Trump's administration?

I do care about America.  Look around, its in worse shape than when Trump was in office and its not even close.

You chose to vote for the guy who comforted you and helped your emotional well-being

I voted for the guy who was better at the job and produced better results.  Who's really being selfish here?

And yes....alll this damage Trump has done.  Of course, you cant describe any of it, especially now that the guy you voted for made everything objectively worse, so we'll have to take your word for it, I guess.

  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

Just...please don't be real. But of course it probably is.

Yes, mobilizing FEMA helped immensely. They set up huge vaccination operations near population centers, and mobile vaccination vehicles to reach more rural areas. None of that started or was even being considered while Trump was throwing his temper tantrum over losing.

The country is "worse" because we - and the world economy - is still dealing with the aftershocks of Covid. The global supply chain was kneecapped, old refineries were shut down and simply won't reopen because the profit isn't there. More dollars were printed by the Fed in Trump's final year than Biden's presidency so far, so the inflation was coming regardless since between supply issues and money printing there's your inflation issues.

If Trump was still president we'd be in the same situation. Possibly (probably frankly) worse because he'd be bullying the Fed into lowering rates, but I don't want to go far out on a ledge speculating on what Trump would or wouldn't have done.

But his history is consistent with a guy who maximizes the short term and tries to dump the longer term problems (like paying contractors) on someone else.

That sort of ... decisionmaking ... can look really good when things are fairly stable and operating normally. Which they were until an actual crisis requiring leadership both in skill and communication hit us march 2020.

That's when Trump was exposed.

Didn't he get airlifted to a hospital pretty much immediately? Glad the new guy is not so physically weak and pathetic.

Apples and oranges.  Trump had the original strain, Biden most likely has Omicron.  The vaccine has almost no effect on the spread of Omicron and the effect on symptoms appears to be very short lived.  Precisely why the vaccine manufacturers are tripping over themselves to develop and Omicron specific vaccine.

This is false.

And it was the FDA that sent BioNTech and Moderna back to develop a bivalent candidate targeting BA.5's spike. The tripping is due to the rapid rate of mutations causing them to be a step behind the most prevalent variant at any given time. By the time that candidate starts getting into arms, BA.2.75 or some other variant will likely have outcompeted BA.5 by then.

To the tens of thousands of lives it undoubtedly saved? Yes, dumb F, it made a difference.

Apples and oranges. Trump is an obese POS and comparing his reaction to a virus with anyone other than a person who starred in My 600lb Life is useless.

But what difference did it make to a janitor with an IQ hovering around 80? Hmmmm?

Yes, Thomas Malthus would be very happy. (kidding even though many won't get that without Googling).

If you post here and don't understand the fallacy of Malthusianism you're a moron who should sit back and learn something first.

Maybe not from some of you though

Uh, ok....so you agree that the vaccine is not effective at stopping the current spread.

Hence, joking.

Over under on people googling Malthus? 4.5?

Watching this press conference is hilarious, the WH thought bringing out the doctor and making a point of the vaccines protecting against severe illness would be a positive thing but the hysterical liberal media is making it like the end of the world, this has totally backfired on the admin. All this does is make it look like a another admin failure instead of a positive

You should probably avoid the binary/absolutist language. There are many factors at play, the most critical being the length of time from the most recent shot/booster to when you were exposed. The variant matters as well as each successive one is increasingly more adept at evading immunity (both natural and vaccine induced.)

No it does not stop the spread completely, but yes it does decrease your chances of developing symptoms and reduces the chances of you infecting others. Latest estimates from BA.1/BA.2 were ~40% protection against infection after 4 months. BA.5 is too recent, so I'm not sure if we have many estimates there, but I haven't seen any that say it's near zero as you've claimed.

i bet president biden got the rona from that evil fistbump!

I remember when Reagan was shot, this press conference amazingly was on the same level of hysteria, never should have brought out the DR. just  release a statement saying President has covid but because for the vaccines he is doing well and then just move on.

Problem is, then the story is that they are hiding things and the media starts wildly speculating. It's a lose-lose because the media is so effing terrible.
