Utter BS. College was expensive when I went and I worked multiple jobs. Know what they do in Europe? Trade schools. That's a problem for lazy SOB who'd rather get an art history degree and have us pay for it so they can get a $15 minimum wage flipping burgers.

  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

do better

I actually said it’s excessive. I also said that it doesn’t address the root of the problem and that it’s a missed opportunity for disruption and reform. But being right once again is always worth pointing out.

It was also worth pointing out that this wouldn’t be possible without Trump and his wall and how he diverted funding for it. If you want to talk about principles, that’s the most important one. A number of us pointed it out at the time. The same people freaking out about this in this thread were the ones celebrating what made it possible a few years ago. It could have been far worse. It could be President Sanders passing the green new deal this way. Which is why giving the president, any president, this kind of power is dangerous.

So far gone. 😂

Been the trend since fdr took a third term…go back more recently to the patriot act if you like.

power consolidates power. That is its nature and why the founders designed a govt to avoid that. Trying to pin this down as a trump thing is intellectual dishonesty. Get past tour emotions about him

Patriot act was an overreach but is was passed by congress. Overreach by executive order has been expanding.

Let us take a look into the past…

Trump uses the exact same law and declares immigration an emergency. Uses this law to bypass congress to divert funding, from the pentagon, to build his wall.

Trumpbots: Rheeeeeeeee MAGA Rheeeeeeeeee!

Me: You know some democrat will someday be president again and can use this to pass just about anything including the green new deal.

Trumpbots: that will never happen! Rheeeeeee! MAGA Rheeeeeeeeee!

See above. You did this to yourselves and it’s glorious

Yes vote buying is the exact same as protecting the entire country from unmitigated illegal immigration (which btw Biden has reimplemented)

Youre doing a great job overcoming your TDS

Youre trying so hard, it's sad

Just say its dumb and move on like your compadres did

This is literally just throwing money at voters abd delaying the problem for a little while, it changes absolutely nothing.  Transparent vote buying for a fluttering administration

Not a good example at all. Rjc is right, Trump's funding of the wall is much more analogous.

They are not even close

The Wall/ stronger borders benefits all US citizens, but most importantly- it was indirectly.

While  College loan Foregiveness directly benefits a percentage of people at the expense of others who did not receive the benefits.

How you can compare the two as even being close to the same for the purposes of "vote bribing" is just idiocy. But I come to expect that from some in here.

Stop crying.

You weren't crying these fake tears when Trump literally paid off the entire population of US farmers for screwing them over with his idiotic trade war.

Closer than the Patriot Act. And the point still stands, you guys all did and still wave the pom-poms for executive orders you liked, but now cry about executive overreach when it's for something you don't like. I'd try to explain in further depth how this makes you a hypocrite, but there's no point because you're in a cult and Trump can do no wrong in your eyes.

The only thing this statement means is, "I will find a reason to justify throwing money at voters to keep them happy when my guy does it".

Lol yes we're crying over this amazing win for Biden

Again, making sure farmers can make food here in the United States instead of getting everything from China is exactly the same as buying votes from a small portion of the population without making any significant changes to the actual underlying problem

Its not that you guys are useful idiots that's the problem, it's that you actually enjoy being the useful idiots.

Food security is national security.  I argued that at the time and would be happy to revisit that discussion

But it should tell you something that you're only response to this is a "Whatabout Trump" argument, and a stretch at that

So you are deflecting instead of debating the points? Got it.

My problems with College Loan forgiveness are simple. It directly benefits a percentage of people who are the only ones who benefited from that education and loan. This is not something ALL US citizens will benefit from. And it is shifting that responsibilities to tax payers who did not receive the benefit of a college education.

All the while those with Degrees "should" have higher earnings potential.  Thats why you went to college, why you invested in yourself.  So people who have less earning potential, likely making less money beacuse they did not receive a degree, are now paying through taxes, the loans of those who will make more money then them as a benefit they received from that education?

Yeah It is a clear bribe- the benefit went directly to individuals and not all US citizens.

Show me where I did that?

The difference is the Wall was an indirect benefit to all US citizens

The Loan foregivenees is a direct benefit to a few.

Not being able to see those drastic differences does not surprise me about some of you

Fine, I'll play by your rules..

Throwing money at young voters is national security. We need to do it to ensure that Trump is re-elected and cement the near term longevity of democracy and the rule of law in this country.

I'm not deflecting at all, I've already said this loan forgiveness plan is really F'ing stupid. You're just too dumb to understand the context of the posts you're replying to. Post less, read more, trumpbot.

I love how you can say this with a straight face. Have you been around this country and seen the people that live here? We're the most overfed nation on the planet and a top 3 producer. Food security was never an issue.

Man the life of a Biden Tryhard must suck

At this point Trump, January 6th, and covid are the entire Democratic Party.  Without any of these three legs of the stool the DNC is an aimless party without any real substance or platform

Well for one, that's not really true or poverty and hunger wouldn't be a thing

Secondly, tell me right now you have no issues with all of our food coming from out of the country.  Just hypothetically, does that sound like a good idea?

Especially when its coming from places like China.  You want the Chinese govt to control when and how we get our food and how much we pay for it?

Back when some of you were actual libertarians, we argued about this.  You all didnt care about anything but the price of an ear of corn, no matter if it put US farmers out of work and came from China.

Anyway, we're getting off the main topic which is Bidens transparent vote buying scheme which he justified by saying covid is an emergency, which he also told us hed end.  Which is it?

It wasnt just the wall. It was also the administration giving a ish about enforcing the law and protecting those American citizens

But Biden has a radical base to appease so forget those laws

Your own chart shows the numbers doubling. Did you notice that?

Biden voters:  Is covid still a national emergency?
