  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

I keep seeing Democrats on social media (I know, I know randos) complaining that the Biden administration isn't all roses and rainbows like they thought.  I'm guessing these are younger woke types that have unrealistic expectations.  He's not Trump, whew.  But the complaints are:

  • No stimulus yet
  • The kids are still in cages
  • Still deporting illegals
  • No $15 min wage yet
  • Going back on the promise of $50,000 student loan forgiveness

Now we're bombing the Middle East again, and holding up stimulus due to trying to cram unrelated items in.

Looking forward to the Sleepy Joe portion of the presidency when almost nothing gets done and we're returning to normalcy.

I don't remember Biden promising 50k. That was a Warren / Bernie thing. I think Biden is worrying too much about trying to make his first legislative acts bipartisan. People don't care as much about that as they used to.

The stimulus checks are coming, so that's a pretty limited concern.  And the "unrelated" stuff isn't unrelated at all.  Money for states has been a sticking point for Dems going back to last summer.  Republicans don't want it.  Dems do.  But it's directly related to the pandemic and its cost.

Looks like min wage is out, which is fine by me.  People that want it are going to have to lobby the states.  If it gets on a state ballot, it'll pass with flying colors, like it did in FL.

The rest of that is pretty unrealistic of your liberal friends.  No one (except Republicans) ever said Biden was going to stop deporting all illegal immigrants or not hit back in the Middle East if we were attacked.

But, honestly, I haven't seen my more liberal friends complaining about anything.  I think Trump shifted the dynamic a bit on the left.  Hunkering down and supporting your guy no matter what seems a bit more excepted on the left than it was in the past.  Doubt it holds since liberals are notoriously fickle, but I'd expect Biden to still maintain more liberal support than a pre-Trump Democrat.

i've seen more repugs claiming liberals are upset than i have actual liberals who are upset.

Right, Biden didn't but some Democrats have called for it.  People tend to put everything on the President and then get upset at the POTUS.  Biden said he doesn't support eliminating the $50k of debt.

Same. Inauguration was 1/20...it's not even March.

The $15 min wage is something they wanted to add and yes now it's out.  The first stimulus last year, Democrats wanted to add diversity quotas for executives which has absolutely nothing to do with relief for people out of work because of the pandemic.

Biden's campaign promise was to stop deportations and he hasn't been able to (he tried and the courts didn't allow it).

HOUSTON (AP) — President Joe Biden’s administration has deported hundreds of immigrants in its early days despite his campaign pledge to stop removing most people in the U.S. illegally at the beginning of his term.

A federal judge last week ordered the Biden administration not to enforce a 100-day moratorium on deportations, but the ruling did not require the government to schedule them. In recent days, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deported immigrants to at least three countries: 15 people to Jamaica on Thursday and 269 people to Guatemala and Honduras on Friday. More deportation flights were scheduled Monday.

Slowly the further left will lose patience. Of course the right will leap at every complaint of Biden from anyone left of center. It is all about the optics.

I don’t know, it could start WWIII.

Is Biden's politics what we will consider right wing in the near future?

LOL -- the alleged Russian collusion hoax is the hoax (lack of convictions or inability to prosecute due to justice department policies on sitting presidents do not a hoax make):

In reality, the connections between Trump campaign associates and individuals tied to the Russian government during the 2016 election have been well documented in reports from special counsel Robert S. Mueller and the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee. Both found evidence that justified the investigation into those ties, although neither report found evidence of a criminal conspiracy.

"In sum, the investigation established multiple links between Trump Campaign officials and individuals tied to the Russian government. Those links included Russian offers of assistance to the Campaign. In some instances, the Campaign was receptive to the offer, while in other instances the Campaign officials shied away,” the Mueller report said. "Ultimately, the investigation did not establish that the Campaign coordinated or conspired with the Russian government in its election-interference activities.”

The Senate report, which was released Aug. 18, detailed former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s connections to Russia and Ukraine, and found "his high-level access and willingness to share information with individuals closely affiliated with the Russian intelligence services … represented a grave counterintelligence threat.”

Manafort was one of six men involved with Trump’s 2016 campaign who have either pleaded guilty or been found guilty of crimes uncovered during the Mueller probe.

It is also well documented that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered computer networks and accounts related to the Democratic Party to be hacked in order to leak damaging information about Clinton and help Trump’s campaign. A joint assessment by the CIA, FBI and the National Security Agency resulted in a 2017 report that detailed the extent of the Russian influence campaign.

No doubt the left fringe already considers Biden's politics to be right wing.

The White House will reportedly begin charging reporters $170 for coronavirus tests upon entry into "The People’s House," first reported the Washington Post.

(CNN)President Joe Biden, announcing that drugmaker Merck will help manufacture a vaccinedeveloped by Johnson & Johnson, said the United States would have enough doses for every adult American by the end of May. That does not mean they would all be administered by then.

The timeline speeds up by two months the administration's previous goal of having enough shots by the end of July.
"That's progress," Biden said in remarks from the White House, warning there could still be delays in getting shots in Americans' arms.
The arrangement between two competitors is unusual and underscores the urgency in manufacturing and distributing enough vaccine doses to inoculate as many Americans as possible.

Biden hailed the partnership as a way to quickly jumpstart the sluggish vaccine production, likening it to cooperation between corporations during World War II.

The White House said it was utilizing the Defense Production Act to help equip two Merck facilities to manufacture the Johnson & Johnson product, including by bolstering "fill-finish" capacity when the doses are places in vials and by increasing availability of the components of the vaccines.

The decision came about after it became clear to administration officials that Johnson & Johnson would fall short of their manufacturing goals.
"It simply wasn't coming fast enough," Biden said.

Damn, Biden.  Slow down buddy, you got George Washington looking over his shoulder.

Kind of-topic, but didn't Merck sell blood tainted with HIV to Africa back in the 80s?

Edit: Nope, my bad. It was Bayer. Damn Germans <_<

I'd be in favor of eliminating any funds going to Texas. That'd be a good start.
