March 8, 20241 yr MAGA expected a senile old man who spaces out, gets lost on the way to the podium, and has to be handled by those around him. What they got was a cogent man who demonstrated more command of the issues than Trump ever has, who had plenty of energy and was at times fiery, and who used the State of the Union with aplomb as a political tool. Even if you disagree with him on the issues and recognize that most of these promises are campaign rhetoric, it was an effective and powerful speech that defied the low expectations that right-wing media has been trying to sell to voters about Biden's mental capacity.
