Put me in the extremely tiny minority who thinks Joe has gotten this almost perfectly correct. I have been extremely consistent with the whole "leash" bit from day 1 of the Hamas invasion. Biden had to give Israel a long, long leash to wreak havoc and revenge on Hamas, but at some point Israel was going to cross the line and international opinion was going to go against Israel, bringing down US goodwill with it. At that point, Biden was going to have to "jerk the leash". What Hamas did was a trap, laid by Russia and Iran, to divide the western alliance, divide the budding Arab nation alliance with Israel, and muddle the morality of the just defense of Ukraine. They have succeeded in all three. At this juncture Biden has finally started to jerk the leash, even if I believe this first round of "some bombs" should have happened months ago and it should be escalated to almost zero weapons by now. Let's get this straight, Israel does not need a single bullet from the US to eliminate Hamas, the US only helps them restock their defenses against the rest of their neighbors with impunity.
