She is very, very, scary, and very, very brown, which makes her even more scary. Her first name is also scary.

It reminded me of this sad coworker who still quotes lines from Austin Powers. And yet, it's also going to be a constant drumbeat from the right for the next four years. Republican talking points are hilariously predictable. Joe Biden becoming completely senile just might happen. Everyone expecting Joe Biden to be the balm for the civil unrest in this country and the answer to covid however probably won't happen. We'll see though. I'll be happy to be wrong.

The time for Trump to have acted as a leader, followed proper advice from the medical community, and then reiterate that guidance to his followers, has come and gone. He had ample opportunity to lead by example, and he failed in the most spectacular way possible short of dying from it himself. An estimate of 700 deaths have been traced to frivolous campaign rallies. Those 700 families irreparably harmed out of pure vanity because he didn't like the "look" of wearing masks or a socially distanced rally. He only has himself to blame for those that continue to follow his example off the cliff. So until Biden actively facilitates spreading covid to his followers at pointless and completely irresponsible gatherings (and yes, I think those idiots partying in the streets after the election need to be slapped upside their heads) then I'll settle for a minimum of another 700 lives not being needlessly lost in the months to come.

Vaccine or no vaccine, I'm not expecting a damn thing until 2022. Even if we cleared one, I'd bet it doesn't happen until spring. Maybe it's late summer by the time we figure out distribution. And then of course, yes, we have the political battle of anti-vax, "personal responsibility patriots", and folks just mad that Trump lost. Just because I'm happy that Trump is gone doesn't mean I think we're gonna be all kumbaya.

Yes, that's another thing. It didn't have to become a matter of debate whether or not the virus was serious, whether masks helped, whether Fauci or Birx were reliable sources of info, whether hydroxyclorine (or however the F you spell it) was the magical cure. That was always the dumbest part of Trump's approach - the stupid denial. Of course made worse when we discovered that he KNEW it was serious and chose to misinform us deliberately.

You need to socially distance on top of wearing the mask. Any event, whether a Trump rally, social injustice protest, or Biden celebration with that many people jam packed in close vicinity is IDIOTIC.

I see crowds like that, and I go the other way. It's foolish and unnecessarily risky. But it's not an apples to apples comparison. 1- because it's not a planned and scheduled event by a world leader, and 2- Trump's crowd proudly protests AGAINST masks, whereas this crowd foolishly breaks rules, yet at least acknowledges that they shouldn't be breathing all over each other.
