I’d really just rather see Hurts get a chance, at this point.

1) It would be more interesting.

2) We’d probably have a better chance to win.

3) Wentz really needs to clear his mind in some way. Going out there every week doing the same crap, isn’t helping anything.

4) It might even help the coaches get their act together. Having to gameplan for a different QB.

There's literally no genuine reason at this point not to go to Hurts.

We are 10 games through the year. A lot of rookies who sit to start their first season do come in around the midway point.

Wentz blows and this offense needs some kind of spark.

The only excuse to stick with Wentz is his contract. That's a valid excuse in that we know that's how the NFL is but it's a terrible excuse also.

I was all in for Hurts getting a shot at some point this season, but at this point, I'm over it...

Not because I believe in Wentz, but because he's 100% physically and mentally cooked, and I don't want this hack job of a coaching staff destroying Hurts potential.

I just don't know if I am ready for Hurts yet. Is he ready to be a full time QB in the NFL?

A little off topic -- is Nate Sudfeld that bad of a backup? Why can't he get some game reps? He may be more ready than Hurts. Dumb idea I know, but if Carson has to sit a game or two, I would rather (maybe) see what Sudfeld has.

All we've seen from Hurts is some running plays, handoffs and 2 passes.  We have no idea if he'll be any better.

Schlereth said during the game that they haven't used Hurts in as many gadget plays because they don't have him practicing those, they have him practicing to run the regular plays in case he has to take over for Wentz.  Don't know where they get that info but that's what he said.

From the Eagles perspective, they are in 1st place and as long as they are not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs they will start Wentz.  Doug put old arse Alshon and Jason Peters out there as liabilities because he is loyal to a fault.  He's not pulling Wentz unless he's told by management to do so.

Sudfeld has performed fine when he’s played. I’d like to see him get some regular season reps some how.

Howie said one of the reasons they drafted Hurts was they will need a #2 after Sudfeld leaves in free agency...because he wants a chance to be a starter.  Who would sign Sudfeld to have a chance at being a starter?

I'd play Hurts just to simply shut down the concept that he is a better option.  Let him take the beating behind this line and save Carson.  The whining about Howie will be non÷stop after Hurts has to depend on his arm.  LOL. It will be TATErgeddon.

Ok, and if he goes out there and actually outplays Wentz, will you finally shut up with your excuses for Carson’s abysmal play?

Will you shut up, when he doesn't?

You guys that want to pin this all on Carson are missing the massive amount of system wide failure that exists in this organization - an organization of which he is simply a part of.   The experts (not you) all say Carson needs to improve.  The experts also say that Doug needs to learn to coach and scheme better.   They also say that Howie's track record on gaining talent is hideous.  And that we are crippled with injury.  And our skill positions (less Sanders and Goedert) are average, at best.  You keep on ignoring it, if you want.

Let Hurts play.  Over an few games, we will all find out.

Hack job is right, I don't see any intelligence from the coaches on either side of the ball.

We are stucked with Wentz for next 3 years at least so I agree with Doug here to play him...at least we will see if he can find the way trough this...although I doubt unless som significant change happens on the QB coach position and also play calling position...and that won't happen

Only reason to play Hurts is if they wanna imitate what Baltimore does with LJ. Even though I feel Hurts is the better passer. I don't know. Would be nice to see the kid take a series. But as long as we are in playoff hopes. I don't see it happening as long as Wentz is healthy.

It will be a halftime move because there is no downside to bringing in Hurts at that point (and maybe starting him for the next couple of weeks after)...If he comes in and does better than Wentz...it looks brighter for Doug, like maybe it's not his play calling.  If Jalen comes in and doesn't do any better, he has the excuse of being a rookie and coming in at halftime against a very good team so a start next week won't be balked at. This lets Doug's decision off the hook completely.  No human being at a pro level can play worse than Carson Wentz.  There is literally NOTHING to lose.

Let's get a closer view of where the problem lies...is it Doug, Carson or both?  And if Hurts shows absolutely no promise what-so-ever, we'll know what we should pick with what will most likely be a top ten selection if we tank the next 6 games.

Continuing to go with Carson at QB, answers no questions for next year...and for what?...for the hope we stumble into the playoffs with possibly the worse record of any team to make the post-season and get absolutely destroyed and embarrassed in the first round and get a lousy draft position.

It's Monday night, halftime for Doug to make his move...he knows it, and that's why he couched his answer today.

Wentz fing sucks anything is worth trying at this point.

I really wonder how Hurts has been in practice. I haven't really heard anything about him during the season.

The Eagles should have 3 QBs active, IMO, especially with Hurts being a rookie and Carson's injury history.  But, they usually only activate two and usually Sudfeld is inactive.

I have to agree with Stephen A on this one: if the kid had showed ANYthing, he would've been in by now, full stop.

Hurts is yet another utterly disastrous Fing pick by this FO. And stop with the: " he threw two passes and completed them both" nonsense. The kid is nowhere near ready for the speed and danger of the NFL game.

I think Howie could have input in this. Howie and Doug are tied to Wentz. If Wentz fails, they are gone. So, I think that is the real reason. If they go with Hurts and Hurts does well, then Lurie is going to think why did we give up multiple draft picks to get Wentz and why are we paying him over 100 mil to ride the pine?

I agree to an extent that if Wentz fails then they are both likely gone. But surely Hurts was brought in as that alternative? Surely both would take credit for making a very difficult decision? And if Hurts plays well then they get credit for that too. As things stand Doug is definitely on his way out if this continues and Howie may be too.

Agreed. Get all 3 dressed. I know that move takes a game day roster spot away, but so what, ya know. Its not like the team is loaded with All Pros.

Just a clusterflug of a season.

The same type of people who signed Chase Daniel to 'compete' so....Howie?

Greg Ward is not a legit NFL backup QB. He played college QB, but he is a far cry from being a decent backup QB at the NFL level.

Agreed...Wentz is also a far cry from being a decent backup QB at the NFL level... Couldn't resist ;)
