Who Killed JFK?

So as not to pollute the election thread with our various conspiracy theories, we can talk about JFK here. As I've said before, I'm not a big conspiracy theory guy. I only believe in 2. The NBA draft lottery is rigged every year, and the CIA murdered JFK.

The CIA had the motive and they had the ability to do so. Oswald's own mother said he was recruited by the CIA while he was in the Marines. The main evidence is Oswald's time in the Soviet Union. No regular citizen during the height of the red scare could move to the Soviet Union attempt to defect, then waltz back into the United States with his Soviet wife and daughter like nothing ever happened. Oswald was CIA all the way.

Oswald. Alone. Did it.

They found his gun.

Not to mention he murdered the Officer. It was his handgun.

this is the best recreation to date.

I used to believe in the JFK conspiracy when I was in high school. Then I looked into it more when I was in college and came to the conclusion that Oswald did it, acting alone. There was a time when I also believed in aliens, I believe back in middle school or earlier. Roswell, Fire in the Sky, the whole thing. Also flirted with the idea that the moon landing could've been faked around that same age. Phases I grew out of once I began to understand physics, probabilities, and more importantly, human psychology. My education was critical to giving me the ability to differentiate fact from fiction.

There’s still classified docs related to JFK’s assassination.  So saying you "looked into it” doesn’t mean much.  You’ve only seen part of the puzzle.

Oswald was the lone shooter, but was there a larger conspiracy in which he was "a patsy," as he claimed? I can entertain the possibility with some connection to either the mob or the Soviets.

You think he is dead?  Sheep

Of course he's dead.

They went to the edge of the Earth and dropped his body off the firmament.

Like...duh?

I looked into the ballistics, the chances of Oswald pulling off that shot, the likelihood that if it was the Mob, the CIA, the Soviets, or any other number of grander plots, that more details wouldn't have been leaked by now. Personally, that government materials are still classified don't point to a conspiracy to cover up things decades later, but of all the conspiracies, I'll concede that JFK is one of the more probable ones at least. Same reason why it was the last one I still believed in even after having dropped the other ones like aliens, moon landing, and princess diana.

I think a big turning point for me was seeing all the nonsense about 9/11 in real time and noticing the same patterns and flawed logic used to justify the claims in the Loose Change video as the one made for Magic Bullet hypothesis, Jack Ruby, etc. At the time, I understood enough about physics and civil engineering to know that all the crap in Loose Change was BS and that got me hooked on JFK again and inspired me to spend a lot of time researching the specific claims.

The JFK conspiracy theories have life because Oswald was shot before he could stand trial.  The 9-11 stuff is right up there with 5G caused the Coronavirus.

The Irishman movie *spoiler* had a fun connection to the JFK assassination. I don't believe it though. Like most of Sheeran's claims, I think they're embellished or untrue.

Oswald, alone, had the access, the ability, and the means to pull it off. If he got any help at all, it wasn't much. None of the Mafia, any foreign country (Russia/Cuba/etc.), the CIA, or any other big organization was involved. He didn't need it.

Yep, a couple were eye-roll worthy. Still a damn good movie though.

I think for years people thought Ethel Rosenberg (who was executed by the government) was guilty.  It wasn’t until more docs came out that people started to think maybe she wasn’t.  I expect a similar course with Oswald and the JFK assassination.

Agree. Scorsese should have made it a mini-series instead of a 3.5 hour movie.

All I know is if the mob couldn't kill Castro then they sure as heck didn't kill JFK.

It does seem to me there is more to it and we'll never know since Oswald is also dead.  You don't think the fatal shot was accidental from the SS?  JFK's brain was a mess and if it was the 3rd shot that would make him further away from Oswald.  I thought it held water, but maybe not.

Of course he didn't need the help, but that doesn't mean that he didn't have the backing of a conspiracy.

  • J.P. Prewitt : The truth is male models have been assassinating world leaders for over 200 years. Abe Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery, right? Well, who do you think made the silk stockings and powdered wigs worn by our early leaders?

    Derek Zoolander : Mugatu!

J.P. Prewitt : [pauses]  Slaves, Derek. So they hired John Wilkes Booth to do Mr. Lincoln in. The first model/actor! Dallas. 1963. John F. Kennedy.

Matilda : Lee Harvey Oswald wasn't a male model.

J.P. Prewitt : You're goddamn right he wasn't, but the two lookers who capped Kennedy from the Grassy Knoll sure as crap were!

Bill Simmons’ Ewing Theory centers around one of the envelopes being bent in the 1985 NBA Draft Lottery.
