Top 10? For a HC and GM boasting about a QB factory he better be more than a top 10. In this league it's really not much difference between a #10 and #20

Lol.

Doug was dumb before Covid now who knows what is going on up there.

Seattle 48

Eagles 6

2018: Wentz 6-7

2019: Wentz 5-7, goes on a run versus 3 putrid nfc East opponents to finish 9-7

2020: Wentz 3-6-1

I mean I’m sorry but it’s over. The dude can’t play. He can’t throw, he can’t see, he can’t run.

It is very much over yes!

I think they should go different and go with a defensive head coach. Maybe Matt eberflus and let some new offensive coordinator bring a new scheme in

Wentz has been poor for the past 3 years. He’s a bad QB. A BUST.

He was great prior to all the injuries, now he has poor fundamentals, it doesn’t help getting his confidence back when you have **** play calling, a crappy O-line in front of him and receivers that don’t get separation.

There are a lot of problems with this team, Carson is one of them. I’m willing to give him another chance next season after they blow up this crap show.

Unfortunately I think we need to watch this infuriating show for another week. Wentz will be out there next week and we will get totally embarrassed by the Seahawk’s. Maybe then we will see some meaningful change but I still won’t hold my breath!

Brian Schottenheimer for HC and Leslie Frazier for DC.

So contract wise when can we get rid of Wentz provided we do not find a trade partner for him. Has been his backer but I'm officially done with him.

They aren't going to cut him, but to answer your question, I believe you would have to wait until the 2022 season to save a dime. I know his guaranteed salary for 2021 is over $25 million.

Now, they could trade him next season after June 1st and they'd save that guaranteed salary which is over $25 million. Think the dead cap is just over $9 million and you'd have that for a few years.

The issue of all this is, I believe if he's under contract as of March 13th, 2021, $15 million of his 2022 contract becomes fully guaranteed. So .... Pretty sure that puts the dead cap for next season at $24 million if you trade him.

The contract is tricky.

I've actually agreed with you about the throwing off the back foot for years issue. I also never said you blame everything on Wentz. I said you blame things that aren't the QBs fault on the qb and you've been doing it since mcnabb was the qb. I don't think you know what you are actually watching and I don't really care what you regarding on field issues.

Hey if I’m wrong about something I admit it. Everything out there isn’t Carson’s fault. I admitted I was wrong about the screen pass, but a lot of this stuff isn’t new and it’s not just him. There’s a lot of guys out there right now who are not getting it done. Frankly I have bigger issues with Howie than I do with Doug or Wentz.

Wentz leaves a lot of plays on the field for someone who's supposed to be a franchise QB. His turnovers are inexcusable.

They’re excusable when the defense knows you’re gonna pass it 50 times a game with a crap offensive line and crappy receivers...look at the pick six today, wentz gets hit from the right tackle as he throws it causing the int. Meanwhile we run the ball several time on that first drive and moved the ball well...then, the running goes away and play calling is absolutely crap. Leading to wentz being sacked more than any qb in the league.

wentz has gotta be better, but these games we're losing isn’t just him.

Bottom line is they’re basically stuck with him unless they get blown away with an offer. Just makes it more curious as to why they drafted Hurts at all.

Reich still showing ghe has a competent offense

Plenty of players playing terribly. The problem is their franchise QB making the most money is playing exceptionally bad.  He’s the guy who’s supposed to carry the load when the team struggles but he’s done nothing but drag us down further.

If you remember they tried to get an OC, but everyone turned them down. Then they went with this community coordinators crap. I don’t blame the OCs from staying clear of this mess. They wanted no part of being fired for not calling plays.

Yeah I remember that as well. It didn't take them long to make the excuse "this how we wanted all along". I guess with any real OC they would want to design and call their fair share of plays but with Doug being an "offensive mastermind" he wasn't having it.

Weird thing is in 2018 he had better numbers than 2017 and in 2019 he " threw for 4000 yards with no receivers” so it’s really difficult to figure out what is wrong here. I think this team needs to run the ball a lot more than they do. They were a top five rushing team in 2017.

it would be such a shame for the eagles to do the dumb thing and pull out another two or three wins, make the playoffs and then get destroyed with the bonus being they lost out on the better draft pick for Howey to screw up

I don't care if they want to make Wentz the highest paid backup for the next 3 years... Cause that's what he is and should be.

When you think about it that’s all Doug has left. Schwartz basically controls the defense, and he can’t even choose his own coaches. The GM basically controls the roster. What does he have left?

No worries, after watching today I don’t think this team is capable of winning 2 more.

I really don't understand why this team has to stick with Wentz because of his contract?

So is the argument that if Doug can't turn it around with Wentz then he'll get fired for that? Well he's going to get fired with Wentz at QB so why not try something else?

Is the argument that Howie doesn't want to take the L on Wentz because that's a bad look for him? Well a losing team is a bad look for a GM. Plus he took a QB in the second round so actually that's a double loss there.

Wentz is hurting this team. At this point he's going to take everyone down with him. The contract is what it is. We can't get out of it but that doesn't mean he should keep starting. That's just dumb.

The commentators said something very interesting. That the Eagles have slowed down on inserting new Hurts package plays because they’ve been getting him up to speed on the rest of the playbook instead.  Hopefully that means they are expediting the process of having him take over.

No, we don't want to see Hurts this season, continue playing Wentz, we need all the losses we can get.

I agree that Wentz isn’t playing well, but I highly doubt that Hurts would help the team more that Carson hurts them. If they rush Hurts then they possible lose both quarterbacks.
