169.9 lbs this morning.  That's a full 60 lbs below where I was at my highest weight years ago.  I've got some figuring out to do though.  I don't really want to give up running but, late last year I noticed that my appetite had decreased, and I'm now down 12 -13 lbs so far this year.  I'd really rather settle in at around 175 lbs, so I need to figure out how to add enough calories to put 5 lbs back on then tweak it to maintain a consistent weight.

Get bloodwork done. That kind of weight drop seems unusual

Sounds like The Omega has The HIV.

Kind of a funny story (not really). Decades ago, during my college days, I gave blood. Back then, when they’d go over the paperwork with you they’d tell you that they’d test your blood for AIDS and, if it came back positive they’d let you know. Gave blood many times, never heard from them. Gave blood this one time then, a couple weeks later, sitting in the den watching TV, mom on the other side of the room when the phone rings, it’s the Red Cross asking for me. For me? Why would they call for me? Suddenly one word occurred to me, AIDS. I started freaking out, am I going to die? How am I going to tell my mom? I grab the phone, hello?  They just wanted to let me know they had another blood drive coming up. I told them to never, ever, call me again.

Despite efforts to up my calorie consumption I’m still dropping weight, down to 167lbs, so for lunch today I did something I hadn’t done in over 10 years, ordered the Jumbo cheeseburger combo special at South 21 Jr in Charlotte. I’m sure it’s not gonna add any weight but damn did that sucker taste good.

Seriously man i had a neighbor discover he had a GI cancer this way years ago. Did you get bloodwork?

The electric toys on the trails and greenways are becoming quite vexing.  First off, those of you riding them around for exercise are cheating. Yeah, you're probably burning some calories but when you're going 20mph up a hill while barely peddling that should tell you something.  One of you cheaters is going to come around a curve and hit a runner or real biker and there's going to be real trouble.  Even worse are to one-ball self-balancing hoverboard. Sure, they look fun, but your big fat hairy one ball, at 20mph, is kicking all kinds of dust up for active, sweaty people to breathe in and get covered by.  F'ers.

Good thought.

Omega, get some blood work done, see if anything is up.

I'm not losing weight, but I have a constant feel that I need to pee. I go to pee, and nothing comes out. Ugh. Saw a Urologist and got blood work done AND an ultrasound. No results yet.

Also, every now and then, I feel like I'm starving, so I eat something, and after only 3 or 4 bites of whatever I'm eating, I feel full and feel like I have to vomit. Weird.

Why do people walk backwards on the treadmill??  Does that work your legs better than walking forward??!! Should I start doing this??!! I have to ask, because I never see people walking backwards outside of the gym. 🤔

Its from knees over toes guys

Just a way to strengthen the quads

I got a spinal fusion and disc replacement two weeks ago and looks like everything has set well. I lifted and moved the last 20 years so not being able to bend, twist, or lift over 10 lbs until July sure will be a mental challenge.

Somehow I strained my big toe while trimming the yard yesterday. Feels like I jammed it. Anyway, it felt a little better when I woke up this morning so I went out and ran 5.25 miles. Now it feels much worse. Weird.

Amazingly enough it’s gotten better even though I’ve kept running. The beach exacerbated it a couple weeks ago but running on it’s no problem. Running in this heat and humidity on the other hand….

Had some work done on the left knee recently. It’s really healed up nicely!

Earlier this year I decided to get my blood tested for low T (let the jokes fly). I was tired all the time, lazy, and my workouts were just not impactful at all. It turns out I was right, so I’ve been getting testosterone shots right in the ass for the last 6 months, which brings my T levels back to normal. My workouts have been insane. I’m 44, and I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. I’ve added stairclimbers or incline walking to the end of my workouts now too. I have way more energy throughout the day, I’m more flexible, and I have zero joint pain anymore even though I lift heavy. I have to take estrogen blockers so I don’t grow moobs or get overly emotional during Pixar movies.

Also, I’m like a dog in heat now. When the girls go to bed, I’m basically chasing the wife around the house weiner out.

Running the past couple of weeks have been glorious. Temps in the 70's (a couple of times even in the 60's) with much lower humidity. Not gonna say the runs were easy, but all were 5+ milers and I felt like I could have kept running after each one. Today was not like that. Temps were still in the high 70's, but the humidity was back with a vengeance and I basically rolled across the finish line on fumes. Nice while it lasted.

Joined a new gym about 3 months ago...Planet Fitness and the treadmill just wasn't doing anything for me. The new gym has a bunch of different classes and based upon doing:

Monday 6am Boot Camp and 6pm Yoga

Tuesday 6am Boot Camp and 6pm Yoga

Wednesday 6am Barre (this class makes me feel like an f'ing idiot and epileptic)

Thursday 6am Pilates (see above)

Saturday 8am Total Body Workout

Sunday 8am Total Body Workout and 9am Yoga

Have dropped from 197 to 178 and definitely have added muscle so in my mind have lost even more weight. Will say, the mix of classes has me working different things/muscles/flexibility and overall just feeling better! Of course being 57.....some of these classes just absolutely kick my ass.

February of 2024, I was about 205lbs. Husky, IMO, but not fat. I'm now around 175 lbs. Lift weights 4 to 6 times a week, no cardio though. Too boring for me. LOL

I simply lost the 30 lbs by eating less. Being in a caloric deficient state works for me. Smaller meals/portions.

Funny thing is that my clothes still fit from my heavier days. Pants are 32/33 waist, shirts are Medium or Large.

At the beginning of Summer, I was about 167 lbs. Too thin. My Wife was like "please eat more". 😍

I was referring to your post a little while back about having some troubles - was just glad to hear it sounds like things are well.

I’ve lost 25+ lbs this year after some questionable bloodwork had me in pre-diabetic territory. Started the year doing core cardio workouts 6 days a week (Shaun T’s T25 program). Ate less… a lot less… cut out snacking on pretzels at night, which was hard. Really cut back significantly on carbs, particularly pastas, pretzels, bread, rolls, etc.

For the past three months, I’ve been doing his Dig Deeper program 6 days a week, which is all dumbbell weight workouts. I still mix in T25 workouts occasionally, but for the most part have been just taking long walks with the dog and getting a ton of steps in.

I’m 51, 5’ 10” (on a good day) and weigh 160ish. Feeling pretty good but have more work to do. I want to see abs damn it!

I just started really honing in on macros and trying to eat enough protein daily. We’ll see how this goes.

im down about 32lbs since april/mayish. wife started packing healthy lunches for herself and i joined her. veggies and hummus, fruit, nuts, jerky, cheese. some combonation of that stuff. havent started going back to the gym yet, but i keep saying im going to lol. last month ive kinda slacked off but this week ive been back to it. i can tell my body is re-adjusting to the healthy lunches though. any recommendations to keep from pissing out my ass after lunch? roll
