4 years in and he’s about to get his first coach fired. He has a lot of time to collect bodies. With that being the case Carson is broken right now. He doesn’t even realize he needs to change. Maybe this benching will be that wake up call, but until he understands he needs to make changes I don’t think he will be fixed. I’d like to see this off-season a story where Carson isn’t "doing yoga or lifting” and I’d like to hear he’s flying in a specialist to work on his mechanics.

We all want to see him get himself together and at least give us what he gave at the end of last season. Something I thought he would carry over into this season. I don't know what happened between then and the very first game of this season..... Either way I hope nothing but, the best for him and gets back on track.

Right now though he is awful and I said he needed to be benched, I'm hoping that leads to a positive outcome but, with everyone else around him and in the front office being losers I don't see it working out well.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Dude you should just let them have their party. It's Christmas for them.  They don't like Carson for whatever reason and think Hurts is the second coming. Let em enjoy it. It will probably come crashing down. I watched him for three years at alabama. He's great until they shut down his gimmicky runs. Then he's toast. This game probably isn't going to be pretty. I'll be putting up Christmas lights lol. I had enough of Hurts to last a lifetime already. Maybe I'm wrong and that would be nice, but I don't think I am. And we also just lost alot of cap space. Carson is done here. He will no longer feel any loyalty to this team and will not want anything to do with us and I don't blame him . So I guess we will be drafting a QB and starting all over again. Forgive me for not celebrating. A part of me is glad Carson will get a team that actually will put a real team around him. It was fun having a team AND a QB to be a fan of for awhile. I really like Carson. But guess it's just back to team. In this day and age I wouldn't get attached to a player. I definitely am not a Hurts fan so that'll be easy.

So you wouldn't be putting up Christmas lights if Wentz was playing? You enjoy watching him play bad or something? I don't care if they play Sudfield, Wentz was getting harder to watch each week.

Well first of all the game is not on here........... Second of all I dunno. I am extremely dissapointed in the franchise right now and the season is over anyway. I'm 100 percent back next year but I'm not really in a cheering mood at the moment. Trying to see if they figured out when flyers start yet. And maybe it was getting harder for YOU to watch but not me. I'm a big fan of the guy. Your not. Each their own.

People say Carson puts in the work. Well perhaps the work he puts in just further takes him down the wrong path. At this time he needs to change. You’re never going to get a perfect roster around him as long as he’s making the money he does so he’s going to need to play better and lift the players around him. That can start with little things like getting the ball out quicker and accurately. When it’s not there then throw it away. Between all of the injuries I think Carson has lost some of his athleticism so it’s time for him to reinvent himself. Even if he still had those abilities at the level he was before he has to win in the pocket. Carson needs to change his game. Of course this is all a moot point if Hurts finishes out this season well. I don’t see how you can go back to Carson if he does that.

No one should be assuming anything with this kid yet. I know it’s hard for the hardcore Wentz apologists to accept that. I’m looking forward to seeing what the kid can do and no I’m not expecting him to be perfect and I’m not grading a rookie on the same scale as someone who was drafted 4 years ago. Don’t waste your time apologists trying to put water on my excitement to see Hurts over your boy who has only played better than Ben DiNucci.

But but but OLINE & WrZ,!!!

I’m in the middle on this one.  I am and have been a Wentz fan since day 1.  He has made some incredible plays over the past 5 years but also recognize he always needed improvement in some areas like accuracy, etc that just never seemed to happen.  I do think he needs to sit and not just this weekend’s game but for the remainder of the season - this season is over anyway.  More than anything he needs to take a step back, get all the pressure off of him that has been building up, and clear his head.  I think if he can do that AND we get a much more experienced, stricter QB coach to work with him and really push him, he can get back closer to his former self.  It doesn’t make sense to start talking about trading him at this point.  Either way we have a QB on a franchise salary and a QB on a rookie salary.  It is just reversed where the rookie is starting.  I think it is best to give him some time and re-evaluate in another year or so to see where he is at before pulling that trigger.

Cox essentially chose Wentz in an online choice between Wentz and Hurts

Allowing him to start the past 12 weeks...

With no Oline, horrible play calling, no run game, receivers in and out of the inactive list. Yea that's a lot of opportunities

You're creating a false narrative. People arent hoping Wentz is done or permanently crap. But face it, hes played like trash. Its not 100% on him but dont deny it thinking hes fine. People simply want change. As do I.

I haven't seen anyone say Hurts is the second coming, once again creating fiction.

Wentz WILL get wrecked vs the Saints - in other words, play like trash, as usual. He needs a mental break and sit some games out. Now this is the chance to see what the franchise has in Hurts. So sit back, quit spewing your verbal diarrhea and hope Hurts does well for the Eagles sake.

No i dont expect Hurts will be an improvement given what the team is right now but let the kid showcase himself in the NFL before crapping all over him.

My dilemma with this idea that Carson needs strict teaching is it won’t last. If someone has to force him to change then it won’t stick. He has to want to change. If a strict guy comes in I don’t think it’s going to have the results you expect. Now if they bring in a strict guy AND I see Carson is working with some kind of passing guru in the off-season I do think he’s a guy willing to change. If the contract didn’t motivate him to change. If watching some other guy hoist the Lombardi up on his watch didn’t motivate him to change. If the injuries piling up didn’t motivate him to change I don’t know what will.

Locker room rift coming, team Wentz or team Hurts.

Yep. That draft pick is the gift that keeps on giving.

Yeah and in 2018 they said the same stuff and watched Foles take those same guys to the playoffs. They didn’t learn the lesson then and no matter what Hurts does they won’t learn the lesson now.

the thing is wentz will thrive with a new team, he's finished here, I hate it for him, and hurts is not the future

That was coming the moment Howie drafted Hurts. Even Stevie Wonder could see that. Everyone but the Eagles FO saw that. It was only a matter of time.

Perfect time to see if Hurts was actually worth the 2nd we paid for him. His legs should allow him to buy some time for our WRs to get open or he can take off.

When he had Flip coaching him up is when he was at his best.  Rumors circulated that they didn’t get along, that Flip was hard on him.  He’s gone downhill since Flip left.  I’m merely suggesting before we decide to dump him after all we invested in him that we should try having him work with another Flip type coach to see if he can be "fixed”.  It very well could be too late here, but can’t hurt to try.

A veteran player backed another veteran player over a rookie? Well, isn’t that a shock!

And your second line is just weak. Those excuses don’t suffice when you’re talking about a guy making over $30 mil a year playing like the worst starting QB in the NFL.

You wrote it here though. "They didn’t get along” and that means Carson resisted that kind of coaching. He doesn’t want to change. What has he been saying all year? "Im going to keep doing what I’m doing.” He’s not changing how he plays. I don’t think he believes any of this stuff out on the field is his fault. Most of the time on HIS mistakes he says WE need to do better. He almost downplays his own culpability in any of it. If he’s not working on his game in the off-season he’s not changing.

I think Doug gave Carson plenty of time to play his way out of his funk/slump. And Carson did not play his way out of it. So, make the change and see what happens. For a game, or two, or four.

I don't expect too much from the Rookie, as the Coaches, RBs, WRs, and OLine are the same.

IMO, if they bring Carson back for next year (which they will due to his $$)/the year after, etc., then the entire group of Offensive Coaches have to be gone. Start 100% fresh and clean and new.

Kind of despicable that some people have already declared Hurts is a bum. Of course the same people who are writing that crap also declared Carson was the greatest Eagles ever so your predictions pretty much suck.

LOL, so many assumptions in just one line.

Yup. They created yet another QB controversy

What QB has been successful when he doesn't get those?

Everyone but Carson Wentz apparently........and of course Nick Foles when you want to blame 3 other teams why he looked like garbage with them.
