Also, if they treated running as passing, hurts would be considered the next big thing like Wilson...but the league doesn't measure QBs that way. Nobody asked if Wilson would be the guy going forward. They knew that when he THREW for 26tds, not ran for it

Too much has been made about Hurts arm strength......he has plenty of arm strength.  

Hurts has a few areas that he has to improve, but with the talent at WR and TE, his ability to anticipate a receiver open and get the ball to him where the receiver can make a play will make a huge difference in production.

Spreading the ball around will also create a ton of pressure on defenses.......but to do that his reads and progressions have to be faster......he has to get a look at his 3rd and 4th option before he takes off whenever possible.  Plus before he crosses the LOS, he has to keep his eyes down field.  

Personally, I think Hurts makes a big jump this year.....he has a level headed mentality, it seems like he holds the respect of the guys around him, and he has a ton of talent around him at his disposal.....not to mention a very good offensive line.

Agreed.......I didn't write that correctly.....I meant it that these were areas that he needs to improve.

However, I do think that his "lack of arm strength" is overblown.

Gotcha. That makes more sense. He has an average arm at best. Not a huge weakness, but nowhere near a strength

My favorite throw in this was the screen. First stares the middle down and manipulates the defense and then looks over quickly and delivers the ball. It may seem like a small victory, but it's foundation to build on. This wasnt about approval, this was given an assessment. If you think the jets are a great measuring stick, then minshew is better and did it in a real game.
