Well I guess he would seem cocky for showing up all the dopes around here who have been trashing him for the past three years on MNF. Like you mentioned they were so hyped to come in here to go into their same old tired tropes. Hurts owned them all tonight and they’re mad about it.

They don't like his attitude, the way he dresses or the way he talks. And they call him a RB not a QB.  This has kind of become a safe space for some pretty thinly veiled comments.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

The fact he came out and did what they all said he could NEVER do and they’re still mad just shows what some of them are really about. I’ve stated my views on this. Not surprised we are seeing some of them truly expose themselves for the frauds that they are.

Stoked that Jalen Hurts made me look like an a-hole. I hope he keeps making me an a-hole like that for the next ten years.

Hurts is still doing the same thing he did last season. Rolling and throwing to his right. Taking off and running. And somehow teams still cant stop it. Its a mystery to me.

It’s still very early and Hurts needs to produce like that on a consistent basis.

But yes - we saw there the upside and the potential breakout, which can happen for a very young QB, finally having another year with the same coach/system and gifted an elite WR.

It amazed me how many people were completely shut off to Hurts taking the leap.

But I’m glad to see the majority of the board are now behind him.

The less said about those who are not, the better.

Agreed. So many wrote this kid off way too soon. Respect to the ones who willingly eat crow. Screw the other bums. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being critical of Hurts. There is something very wrong with those who do nothing but criticize the guy when he struggles, but go silent when he’s outstanding or even just good and reliable. If you’re waiting for the guy to fail you suck as a fan period.

Highly impressed with his timing and accuracy. His deep ball looked great too. I still would like him to throw the ball away if the pocket starts to break down sometimes.

he really carved them up last night

My signature says it all. Almost top 10 everywhere on the board leaving week 2.  He's gotten two leads and protected them while being a vital part to the offense. Still early early, but as of now, he is climbing the top 15 boards fast.

I'm just glad I didn't go to far one way or the other so I don't look like a dope right now like some people in here that are still doubling down on their nonsense. I want to see more but, as of now Hurts is on fire and I'm happy to be wrong.

In the minds of some I’m far on the other side when it comes to Hurts, but the truth is I’ve constantly stated I don’t know what he will become, but I’m rooting for him. I don’t feel I’m right about Hurts, but I do feel like some of these guys have gone so far one way that they’re stuck on stupid now and are too prideful to admit they’re wrong.

NFL History, Jalen Hurts record breaking night over the Vikings #MNF #FlyEaglesFly🦅

Now that's what I'm talking about.   What a night.  Jalen now has a winning record as a Starter 11-10.   He has broken multiple Eagles and NFL Records in his short 21 starts.  No player has had more total yards than he has through this span.   The only mistake last night was that fluke Pick but I put that on Kenny, he needed to catch that otherwise it was a Perfect night.   Listen nobody is above criticism and that includes Jalen.   So to the Hurts Haters Society, I come in peace not to really gloat.   Didn't he do everything you guys asked of him?  Didn't he stay in the pocket and deliver the ball?  Wasn't he accurate all night?  Look at his completion percentage, at one point he was perfect.  Didn't he spread it around to everyone not just AJ like some of you complained about last week?   Didn't he get Devonta and Quez active all game?   Didn't he get Goedert going as well?   Hasn't AJ still average over 100 Yards in each game?   I mean I know it's two weeks but I feel he answered a lot of some peoples criticisms about him.  "But he runs too much".   That's his style of play.  He plays more like Mcnabb and Vick than Brady or Peyton.   Amazing performance under the lights too.

Great start...now do it again.

Barkley was never a starter here, and few here even know Rodney Pete played for us (and based on some of the posts you’ve made, I would assume you were in that group).

So your point is you thought Vick was going to win something with us somehow but Hurts can’t on a significantly better team?

Peete.

All we know is that he hates Hurts because he thinks Hurts is cocky. Those were his words. I'm not sure why we have to get into this other stuff that may or may not have anything to do with his opinion. Personally, cocky players don't appeal to me, but I don't find Hurts to be cocky. The NFL has changed so much in the last 20 years. There aren't many Barry Sanders left playing in today's league.

Anyway, so I'm just going to disagree with his take and his slippery slope predictions about the future.

He made sure to run to Twitter to brag right after the game.

I don't really care. I would guess most athletes are pretty cocky, but he probably didn't need to do that.

Wasn’t Jefferson supposed to have a must see press conference if the Vikes lost? Anything ever come of that?

Slay intercepted those plans. 😂

Yeah I’m with you Eazy, probably viewed as massively pro Hurts, when in reality I wasn’t sure (and still need to see more), but just defended him against the hatred.

BW and Swoop were always reasoned sceptics. Clearly balanced and want him to succeed.

Hurts has shown now that he can win with his arm. He needs to keep doing it, but if he can we are set up beautifully with some great draft picks that we can use to refresh the D and keep the O-Line elite.

Ahhhh, the 'ole "Black QB" treatment.

This is exactly what most of the haters are. They are ignorant but think that they have some kind of elite ability to analyze QBs. These are Dunning-Kruger football fans.

Yes, that is his style of play.   But, that style of play also leads to a shorter career and less long term effectiveness.   The biggest concern with the running is the accumulation of hits.   Great game last night, but I will still say that I would have preferred he run out of bounds at the 4 yard line than take on multiple defenders at the goal line.  A few times last night he was taking on multiple defenders and leaving himself open to punishment.  I am not a fan of that style, not because it isn't exciting to see...  it is, but because I know that every time he does it, he likely takes time off his career.   It is a bad style for longevity.  On occasion you need to do that as a QB, but last night, on the second TD run, that was not a time to do it, IMO.   I was happy to see him going down far more in the second half and not challenging defenders.

Elway, Young and Cunningham all managed long careers despite lots of hits due to their "style." Their effectiveness had actually improved in their latter years. You keep promoting this slippery slope and really, that's all it is. All "QB styles" get hurt. All have examples of shorter careers. Some QBs just aren't as durable as others. Nobody knows the future.

Young

His career didn't really take off and become the guy we know till he was 30 and ended by the time he was 37 so no he didn't really have a long career as a starter he was missing games because of the pounding he was taking and then had to retire from concussions.
