Minshew is not foles 2017. Minshew is a guy that will look good for much of them game but make a critical error. Expect that this week

Well, Minshew has better weapons than Foles did.  This team is built to win with a game manager.

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Oh I know, we battle, but I know it's not personal.  Nothing here is personal, unless racism is brought up, then it becomes personal for me.

If anybody actually got personally attacked in this thread it was me, but I didn’t cry to the mods like you weirdos.

Either way the Cowboys now have to prep for two very different style QB. Again, it will shock many of you, but I hope he gets better quick. Don't rush it as Eazy said in another thread, but they need him back and I expect them to do just fine

As much as I didn't like seeing Hurts run as much yesterday, QBs get hurt in the pocket, or on the move with non-contact injuries.  Hurts is a dual threat and isn't going to be shy about running.  For me, you have to have balance and be able to pass effectively and he's proven that this year.  I don't know what he and the coaches were thinking yesterday they should have been feeding the RBs more and passing the ball with quicker release to not put him at risk.  But injuries happen, and QBs get hurt in the pocket too.

I don’t want to minimize some of the talent Foles played with, but you’re right Minshew is surrounded by a ton of talent right now.

Yep, you don't put a dinged up Jalen Hurts out there to take unnecessary shots, and you know guys will want to go after him, and maybe even after the whistle.

I already posted the stats, but QB's are more than twice as likely to get Hurt outside of the pocket.

The more reports I read, the more convinced I am that Hurts will play. Siri will drag it out as he should making DAL prepare 2 different gameplans, but he will game time decision that Hurts plays.

Thanks coaching staff. Genius idea to not utilize the RBs in a frigid windy Chicago and expose your MVP caliber QB to getting banged up before a Super Bowl Run. Solid job there really. We let a bunch of bums beat up our QB smh.

We can't really blame the coaches for him running a lot last game. He made the reads to run in the RPO and the RPO is why this offense is so dangerous. It's a double edged sword.

I stopped reading the reports, because they were all over the place from sprains on throwing and non throwing to broken collarbones. I think we will know by Thursday is he is playing, but you’re right that Siri is going to play some gamesmanship. I just don’t want to see Parsons talking shots on our QB.

Chicago is last in the league in sacks, pressures and QB hits.

I will say it again, he should not even have needed his jersey washed after the game.

Hopefully this changes their minds about having Hurts run so much. There are way too many weapons to throw to for him to be running so much

Yep, sometimes you need to learn a lesson the hard way. They got off easy because it could have been worse.

It seems like an over blown boo boo. He was completely unbothered by it in the game and did not show any discomfort during the post game stuff. A couple days rest and he is right as rain.

In regards to DAL taking shots at him, that's where a smarter game plan comes in. Heed @eagle45 advice and sit his behind in the pocket for quick passes and straight handoffs.

He had a terrific 4th quarter with this injury. I’m not certain he’ll play this week. But I’m certain that if the Eagles played a playoff game this weekend, he would be playing, no doubt.

Should have sat him in the pocket against the Bears, last in sacks, pressures and QB hits.

I would have liked to see more runs especially in the first half. The Bears played tough though. Overall I think we need to calm down though. Nothing broken, and nothing torn.

Agreed. I can’t put all of this on the OC like some have. Hurts has to do a better job protecting himself and I don’t think he’s been doing a good enough job of that the past few weeks.

I vehemently disagree. More called runs to the RBs keeps the QB upright. This is what happens when your QB is the leading rusher in attempts for a game. Eventually the hits will take their toll. There's no amount of protection out there for QBs that run this much. See the Ravens. I'd rather a banged up RB than QB. Coaching staff has to remove his option to run to preserve him in games like that. Hell line up under center and let the OL dominate man. It was the Bears for Christ's sake.

It was probably their worst game plan all year, we won on talent, not coaching.

Playing games that's what this is. He may have a sore shoulder, I'm sure he does after a lot of games. He took some hits, he played in really cold conditions and he threw 37 passes. I'm sure he's sore and I'm sure he's aching. And he may not play Saturday but that will be precautionary and because there's no need to risk him. If they needed him to play he would and he'd be fine.

I think there was 1 run to the RBs in the 1st half.

He uncorked that bomb to Brown and he was throwing deep late, but how much of that was him running on the adrenaline though? Also I think Minshew could handle that type of offense as well. If they can’t have Hurts be Hurts (maybe not as much running though) then why not rest him?

All we know is he Hurts right now. Actually, I am not too bothered at this point (although get well soon, QB1). It might be the best thing for him, and for the team. We aren't in St BDNick territory yet, the Eagles have three games left. @Dallas, vs Saints, @ Giants. Win anyone single game from those, we have the #1 seed, a bye, and HFA. Let the pokes feel confident. Minshew is decent, CJGJ and Goedert are due back any day, we have a 1k yard back, two 1k WRs (more than likely), the best ofensive line in football, and a defensive line which features four players with, or very close to, double digit sacks. I'll take the Eagles chances, whether Jalen has a rest or not.

I'm just glad he's not out for the season
