Not sure about Germany right now. I know Poland the stores are forced to be closed on sundays by the government unless the owner works. Most EU countries give a sheet ton of time off.
December 28, 20204 yr I want to like Aldi but the food tastes like trash. It’s like the guy who invented Aldi was a kid in Berlin in late 1945 and thought all food tasted like the trash he was eating, and decided to open a chain of grocers where they had great quality food like that, only it was trash. It’s like he found three months later a moldy Hershey bar that a gunner threw out the side of a Flying Fortress, and he was like yeah this is the stuff. I want this quality in my stores. Honestly I just go to Costco. Same idea just much better quality. Plus it’s an American company, so you know at worst his basis of comparison was rationing during the war. Like he wanted some exquisite cheese but it was a Monday and you can only have cheese on days with a T in them and he’s like "sob never again”.
