    Jockey Junior Alvarado has been fined $62,000 and suspended two racing days for his Kentucky Derby-winning ride aboard Sovereignty, according to a ruling dated May 9. In a meeting with Kentucky stewards on Thursday, Alvarado was found to have violated whip use rules under the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority; he used his crop eight times, the ruling states, two above the six-strike limit.
