If I’m passing cars and some D weed comes flying up like he’s making a wild weasel run in Desert Storm and rides me like a truck stop hooker while I’m passing I’m going to pace the lead car in the slow lane for a good couple of miles. Like F your face I’m already breaking the law, I would have yielded at the first chance, but now because you’re an entitled piece of amphibian ish you’re going to spend a couple miles tailgating a guy that has so little left to lose he’s debating following you to where you go.

I just stay at the same pace I was already going and once I can get over, I get over. I already do about 80 so if someone wants to do 90 or more, good on them. If there is a speed trap, let them get got. I'm not going to slow down my trip for them.

And if the 2nd lane is open I'll usually move over to it even if I'm doing 80+. I try to adhere to the notion that if I'm not actively passing someone I shouldn't be in the left lane. Means a fair bit of lane shifting if I'm encountering people doing 70 in the 2nd lane periodically, but it also leaves the passing lane clear for people doing 90. I would rather not invite them to start doing lane shifts at 90 to get around me doing "only" 80. And by all means, please do trip any speed traps ahead of me. I've been known to increase my speed but stay far enough behind someone clocking 90 that I get the benefit of the extra speed with less risk of getting a big ticket.

When in the passing lane I'm checking the mirrors every 30 seconds for those speeding up from behind. If the center lane is nice and open I go right back there because I don't have to monitor my 6.
