I have such fond memories of the original FF7 I have just avoided the remake. At one time I was super excited, but from what I've read it's a wholly different type of game with different mechanics and I was just afraid it would ruin it. And there's no shortage of games I own and haven't played yet between Epic freebies and Steam sales spoiler tag in case you haven't actually played through and the storyline is the same Spoiler Aerith man... first time in a video game I ever actually got emotional and just couldn't believe what happened. I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying I’ve played the original and loved it but had to do the remake knowing it’s different. It’s very similar in ways but also completely different. I’m almost through part 1 and don’t know how I feel about it as a remake. Still a great game though.

I remember pre ordering the original (I think it's the first game I ever pre ordered) and being awe struck as soon as the opening cut scene finished. It's definitely in my top 10 games of all time.
