He’s a great player but his longevity is due to the wussification of the nfl. Joe Montana also didn't have a salary cap..... It was much easier to build and maintain a dynasty back then. New England was constantly getting rid of star players during Brady's prime on both sides of the ball

And I guess Favre - alrhough he wasn’t very good his last few years… 4 hours ago, Boogyman said: I always think of Steve Deberg (sp?). Not that he was any good, but when he got old the announcers always said his age as part of his name "the 44 year old Steve Deberg takes the snap..." and it always made me laugh. Vinny Testaverde, George Blanda (not sure why I know about him, but I know he was one of the oldest quarterbacks ever), Doug Flutie, and Drew Brees also all played into their 40's.

Even Jerry Rice said he's the GOAT. I hate him with a passion, but I'm not going to deny his sustained greatness. He's probably going to play until he's 50 and finish with over 100,000 yards and close to 800 TD's Brady is great. Arguably the greatest QB of all time. Hard to compare stats across eras like that though. Completely different game back then. The 2004 illegal contact changes changed the passing game and significantly inflated stats compared to what they were before then. Teams pass more nowadays AND it’s easier to pass the ball.
