Yeah, I get it occasionally. Pretty terrifying if you don’t know what’s happening. You’re paralyzed, conscious, but because your body still thinks it’s dreaming there’s some weird semi-hallucination type stuff that can go on. I’ve never directly heard or seen anything like some people, but I get a general surreal sense until I can figure out what’s going on and snap out of it.

I used to get it. Never saw the man with the hat, but did once see a child next to my bed in grainy black and white doing some kind of weird stuff with his hands. He disappeared when he looked at me though.

There are a couple "figures” I’ve heard of that are common. Hat man, shadow man, a little kid, a daemon, and of course a lot of alien encounter stories just ended up being sleep paralysis.

Thankfully I’ve never seen a figure, because honestly, the dread I had the first few times I had it probably would have been 10 times worse with some kind of weird figure.

Yeah the very first time it happened to me I thought I was abducted by aliens... Always afraid to open my eyes anytime it happened but I did see a shadowy figure that had a hat shaped head
