When putting items in the cart, it’s just kind of put in and piled it. When put on the belt, same way. There should be organization when putting food in the cart as well as when putting the food on the conveyor belt. Likewise, frozen foods are one of the last aisles to head down.

I always looked at it this way: You need to spend enough to cover the $60 upgrade. So that would be $3000 a year. Also look into their visa card. An additional 2% back at costco, 3% back at resturants and 4% back on gas.

I try to stay away from credit card usage though.

They suck at their jobs and it's a losing battle. If they haven't realized cashiers are going the way of the dodo than it just proves even more how dumb they are.

Do you pump your own gas, use apps for food delivery or Amazon, use an ATM for cash, use cell phone instead of a landline, send email instead of a paper letter, stream tv instead of cable, go to chain stores or restaurants instead of small businesses, use iTunes instead of CDs? You're putting people out of work!
August 12, 20205 yr I use self checkout if it's a few items. If it's the weekly shopping run I use a cashier, it's more efficient. They scan the items I've organized on the belt for efficient bagging, while I bag and restack the cart. Grocery checkout to me is like what changing a tire for Ralphie's dad in A Christmas Story is.

What about the engineers and software guys who designed and built the self checkout? And the techs who install, service and repair them? You would rather keep low income people employed than help create higher income jobs?
