August 12, 20205 yr I like the self-checkout personally. Usually only 1 or 2 actual lanes are open with a checkout employee, but 8-12 self-checkouts are open. I organize my stuff together and stack so things don't get damaged or crushed and I fill the bags up. They put 1-2 items per bag sometimes and you have to carry way more bags then needed. They throw stuff on top of bread or eggs. The self-checkout is slower and you do have to wait for that 1 roaming employee with a handheld to reset if the system thinks you didn't put something in the bagging area. But FU bish, I did put that pack of gum in the bag it's just not very heavy!

Part of the cost of goods goes towards employing the staff...if I’m going to be part of the staff, I expect the discount (or at least the branded polo shirt.) Do you whine that they don't put it in your cart for you as well?

There used to be stores that would give you what you want simply by going to the counter, but times change. Enjoy the long lines and morons at the register.

Go to a Publix once in a while -where the only morons at the register are the ones doing it for free- and enjoy the experience.
