I could be wrong but I feel like some of the hype around Farley being one of the first two corners selected is slowing down?

Only because if health. I think his tape is excellent. He would be the first corner drafted if not for the injury history. With that said, I think the Eagles should take a chance on him. His medical sounds a lot worse than it actually is. Players can recover from ACL surgeries. The back surgery does not seem to be as major as people make it seem. If he falls the eagles should consider trading back in 1st for him. I just don’t see him falling out the top 20 tbh.

if the board is stale at 12 I wouldn’t mind the eagles trading down a few picks, picking up another 3rd rounder and drafting Farley.

Really interesting to me. I feel like it's going to be Surtain or Horn, but they may not be there. I don't think they take Waddle even if he's there. A small trade down could make sense. Fans would hate it though.

Let’s be honest. The fans are going to be mad regardless. If the Eagles draft the fan favorite and he ends up being a bum, they hate the pick. Fans will only like the pick once the player balls out.

Ex Brandon Graham. Everyone was pissed about graham being drafted in front of Earl Thomas and JPP. I don’t think anyone will look back and hate the pick especially after BG play in the SB.

I was thinking of instant reaction (see my thread on EMB first round reaction).

Basically if the Eagles take Smith, Waddle, Surtain or Horn most of the board will be content for now.

If it's Farley - the board goes mad because of his and the Eagles injury issues.

Obviously it's not about the fans - but just saying - it will go down badly if they trade down or take Farley.

Oh please, that would be terrible.

Not as bad as drafting a QB, but close.

LOL how many picks do you think are before us? its 11 players minus a couple QBs. I find it hard to believe both Horn and Surtain are gone

One will probably be there I agree. I suspect only Dallas will take a corner before us.

But Dallas almost certainly will and potentially Carolina or Denver could.

No way the Giants let us get exactly who we want if they have the chance to snatch him away. You guys are way too optimistic or naive.

The list grows by the day, it's up to about 20 players getting selected in the first 12

Teams draft for their own needs and roster building, not to snooker other teams — especially in the first round.

CAR, DEN and DAL are the most logical spots to draft CB, although DAL needs OL/DL and DEN could go QB.  Eagles should be content at #37 that there will still be good CB talent available — whether it be Farley, Newsome, Campbell, or Samuel Jr. if their guy isn’t there at #12

Agreed. Look the biggest need is CB but there is no question this team just needs to add top talent. If that's at WR then so be it. If that's at LB or DE then fine.

Teams dont draft for spite. If the guy we want is not BPA or a priority need for their team, they will let him slip to us

What drives me crazy about Farley and other players is that his back issue started in August of 2019.  Yet, leading up to the draft almost 2 years later...after NOT PLAYING IN 2020....he opts to have surgery?  :nonono:

Has anyone mentioned this dude's name is so close to this psycho's name, that it'll be impossible not to think about if he lands here?

Yes, some people can come back from knee & back issues and have careers that are as good as anyone else.  It's possible that his injuries don't show any sort of negative pattern that will show up again.  But I don't want the Eagles to take that gamble.  I'd strongly prefer that we take Surtain or Horn over this guy.  I'd prefer Smith or Waddle too.  And I think there's a pretty good chance that one of those four guys will be available for us.

All the best players that the eagles would want are going in the top 10 so forget it!!

Really?  4 QBs + Sewell + Pitts + Chase.  That's 7.  If some team likes even just one of Slater, Parsons, or Paye, then one of the 4 that I listed will be available at #12.

Math.

I'm clearly kidding and you even liked one of my posts in this very thread making fun of people putting 20 players in the top 10.

That’s ridiculous ... clearly there aren’t more than 15 players in the top 10!  :P

Sometimes, instead of just doing the knee-jerk thing, I should consider paying attention.
