I think the Eagles silence points more in that direction.  If they didn’t intend to trade Wentz Howie would have/should have been front and center denying those reports.

I believe it’s a mutual parting as of now, which is unfortunate.  If the Eagles were committed to Wentz he wouldn’t have the desire to move on.

Oh absolutely. You're right the silence on both sides speaks volumes here.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

One of the more tangible losses as a result of the cap mismanagement is Zach Ertz.

Sure, he was majorly disappointing this year.  But he has enough of a track record that teams might have offered something in the mid rounds.  Or, he would have been a nice, steadying pass catching presence for one last year as we try to either salvage Wentz or develop Hurts.

Instead, they HAVE to cut him.  Everyone knows it.  No one is going to float a pick when they know he’s getting released by necessity.

This has nothing to do with what Ertz did in his prime leading up to SB52 and 2018/19 but we've seen the best of Ertz.  His play really slipped in 2020.  For as many people who are ripping Wentz for having a bad 2020, Ertz was right up there with him.  I think Richard Rogers stepped up and played well when needed last year.  One more year of Ertz wouldn't do much for the team IMO.  If he signed for a moderate contract knowing his role was being reduced for a younger guy I'd be on board but he's looking for top dollar he's just not worth it anymore.

He'll be traded, not cut you can bet on that.  Even if it's a draft day trade for a conditional 2022 he'll get traded.

But you are right, if Howie managed the cap better they could probably move forward with him without HAVING to get rid of him.

Trade a tackle when this team has struggled with healthy lineman. Of course

Just more dragging Dillard down by the crap media.  The guy has barely even had a chance as a 1st round pick and they’re constantly on him

Howie going to be gathering all of the 4th and 5th round draft picks and pick swaps this offseason.

Malaita > Dillard.

Dillard was a terrible draft pick.  You have to have a certain mentality to play along the offensive line and all reports are that he doesn't have it.  It was alarming how bad he was his rookie season going up against power rushes, trying to block linebackers and other defenders at the second level and just his completely inability to be shuffled anywhere else on the line except for LT.

If Howie can get something for Dillard then that is the way to go.  I have more faith in the guys you can get in the late rounds of the draft at oline to develop into a backup than I do Dillard.

If you listen to Rapoport and the rest of the guessers  , Wentz was traded last week.

None of them have a clue , they throw stuff out there , tag it to a source, and hope to be the first to have some scoop. Next you have all the *can confirm * tweets.

Well Dillard hasnt spoke to the media, he must be unhappy and asked for a trade right? I mean it has to be the case. The guy wrote "maybe they go in the same deal" That has to be legit since its from a twitter account right? :)

Wait till everyone says the Eagles want to trade Wentz, Ertz, Dillard our 1st rounder and more for Wilson. You know someone is going to post it, lol.

Hell me just saying it here will turn into a "source" for someone, lol.

Pretty sure they read this place. Would be hilarious if that's the next rumor lol

At this point, there’s been enough smoke to call it fire.

Well, we need two OTs.  Plenty of room for both of them.

Should help Wilson with his concern about blocking/protection.....

Not a race fan at all.  But I thought most sports fans knew this.

Speaking of NASCAR.  I live in NC now and I hear less about NASCAR the when I lived in PA.  Maybe it’s bigger near Charlotte and Kannapolis.

I knew about the HANS device, just had no idea it was the last lap.  That's just gotta eat at his loved ones.

Seattle and Ertz makes a lot of sense.

- Seattle has cap space, before restructures and doesn't need to budget for a 1st rounder. They do have to resign KJ Wright and Shaq Griffin.
- Wilson has asked for more weapons
- Seattle's biggest need on offense is a receiver who can get open on 3rd down to keep the chains moving. They already have explosive plays covered.
- They have no TEs of consequence on the roster.

The bigger issue is that Seattle traded a ton of draft capital for Jamal Adams. Do they want to give up more for Ertz?

More footage, this time of Les Bowen and his sources.

If they trade Dillard it's such an indictment on Howie, how the F does this dude have a job if they dump a 1st round pick they traded up for this soon?

Race teams he owned finished first and second that race.

I'm sorry but I just do not agree. Carson has spoken out on many things in the past. He's always been very good with the media and facing up. Or being visible on social media. And now he isn't all of a sudden? He wants out. Its been very well reported that he wants out and his silence just furthers that.

Being born in Philly and growing up just outside of it and still residing in the South Jersey suburbs of it's shadow I know the Philly sports media, as do many others here.  Hall Of Fame 3B baseball player Mike Schmidt had a saying about the local sports media:  Only in Philly can you experience the thrill of victory and then the agony of reading about it the next day.  Meaning they are never happy and always have to find something to create a dramatic context about.  And unfortunately, too many of the fan base sucks at their teets and follows along like a line of baby ducks.

There is no point in Wentz speaking out via social media to deny anything these so-called 'reporters' have said.  It's a no win situation for him in that regard.  Even if he did post something saying he's committed to the Eagles and will be back next season and will take the off-season to work on his game, etc., all that will happen is those that already hate him will just say something along the lines of "Oh sure, what do you expect him to say?" and continue hating him.  IMO best thing he can do is avoid the teenage social media BS and work behind the scenes to make himself better.  And why even bother being on social media right now with so many irrational fans trashing him?  Who wants to read all that negativity and hate?

First thing he should be doing is assessing the situation and figuring out what he can do to improve things.  Whether that means staying put and ignoring all the negative BS or getting a fresh start and a change of scenery.  We don't know how much he has spoken with Sirianni, if they are getting along, if Wentz likes what he hears from Sirianni and if they are on the same page as far as what kind of O scheme is going to be implemented.  I would be surprised if Wentz was not giving Sirianni a chance and to at least listen to what he has to say and instead just sulking and simply wanting to leave town.  A tough competitive player with grit would want to come back strong, especially in a new scheme with O coaches with experience working with different types of QBs, and try to bounce back from a bad season.  However, it's also possible that is not entirely up to him at this point.  We are all playing the same game:  wait and see.

Wilson wants protection more than weapons

I mean if they trade him this offseason it kind of speaks to maybe the rumors last year about wanting to trade him were legit
