Race teams he owned finished first and second that race.

And he was in 3rd at the time of the wreck.  Last lap coming out of the final corner.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

It makes zero sense to trade Dillard on a multitude of levels; you’d get pennies back for him, you’ll need to use another high draft pick to replace him, using one of only 7/8 picks for a roster with many holes, Johnson is a question mark, the OL was gutted with injuries this past season, Dillard is still on rookie pay scale, and Stoutland is still here to coach him up.

Get the guy on the field and make use of him; nobody on here can pretend to make an assessment that the guy can’t play based on what has been seen

Yep , he was actually blocking for his teams, he more less caused the accident he lost his life in.

Being born in Philly and growing up just outside of it and still residing in the South Jersey suburbs of it's shadow I know the Philly sports media, as do many others here.  Hall Of Fame 3B baseball player Mike Schmidt had a saying about the local sports media:  Only in Philly can you experience the thrill of victory and then the agony of reading about it the next day.  Meaning they are never happy and always have to find something to create a dramatic context about.  And unfortunately, too many of the fan base sucks at their teets and follows along like a line of baby ducks.

There is no point in Wentz speaking out via social media to deny anything these so-called 'reporters' have said.  It's a no win situation for him in that regard.  Even if he did post something saying he's committed to the Eagles and will be back next season and will take the off-season to work on his game, etc., all that will happen is those that already hate him will just say something along the lines of "Oh sure, what do you expect him to say?" and continue hating him.  IMO best thing he can do is avoid the teenage social media BS and work behind the scenes to make himself better.  And why even bother being on social media right now with so many irrational fans trashing him?  Who wants to read all that negativity and hate?

First thing he should be doing is assessing the situation and figuring out what he can do to improve things.  Whether that means staying put and ignoring all the negative BS or getting a fresh start and a change of scenery.  We don't know how much he has spoken with Sirianni, if they are getting along, if Wentz likes what he hears from Sirianni and if they are on the same page as far as what kind of O scheme is going to be implemented.  I would be surprised if Wentz was not giving Sirianni a chance and to at least listen to what he has to say and instead just sulking and simply wanting to leave town.  A tough competitive player with grit would want to come back strong, especially in a new scheme with O coaches with experience working with different types of QBs, and try to bounce back from a bad season.  However, it's also possible that is not entirely up to him at this point.  We are all playing the same game:  wait and see.

Great post.  The Philly media has always been a problem.  I actually credit them for the negativity that spills throughout the City`s fanbases...especially now with all of the social media channels, blogs, and podcasts by anyone and everyone.  When all you get is negative takes and your only source are these channels, its no wonder many of the fans just keep spewing that stuff from such awful sources.

For Waltrip, it was his first win in a NASCAR race.

I never said it made sense. What i said was there was a ton of rumors last year (**because afan can’t read more than one sentence this alludes to his 2019 season) they weren’t thrilled with him and trying to trade him. So if they do it this offseason it would probably confirm last offseason’s rumors.

Ive said in the past there were red flags from his dad and coaches about him  it’s been brought up and posted here time and time again. I think if they wind up trading it speaks to the fact the eagles didn’t think stoutland could get him to the level they envisioned or they soured on him.

I was there.  It was a very simple looking wreck from the stands, but when he didn't get out, and Ken Schrader was waving for help, the place was mostly silent.  It was clear that it was bad.

If Barnett leaves and Wentz and Dillard get traded then that means we could have 3 out of our last 5 first round picks already gone. How insane is that.

In a packaged deal, what would Dillard and Ertz be worth?  A 2nd and a 5th?

Our second round pick of JJAW doesn’t help matters either. And if hurts winds up not panning out.

Eye test...aka film, he was not better.  He missed reads, underthrew passes, had horrible accuracy (just to start).

Both QB's got benched for bad play.  On the flip side, the eye/film test, while opinion means a lot more than stats and data IMO...but obviously is easy to have competing views.  That said, you're right, and I'd argue Hurts was objectively worse during his period of starting.

Are you counting the turnovers

Dillard was fine at LT, he struggled when they moved him to RT without preparation, that's happened to a lot of OL, playing the other side is doing everything backwrards, it often teakes time to get comfortable. He was a project when drafted, great athleticism but needed to add strength.

No way I give up on him, I remember Mathis, great athlete who's first team gave up on him and Eagles got a bargain.

Insane but not shocking.

If they trade Dillard it's such an indictment on Howie, how the F does this dude have a job if they dump a 1st round pick they traded up for this soon?

Imagine if they trade both Dillard and Wentz this off-season.  You look at the draft picks it took to get both players.

2016- Wentz.  2016 1st, 3rd and 4th.  2017 1st.  2018 2nd

2019- Dillard. 2019 1st 4th and 6th

They used 7 draft picks to select 2 players who might be on their way out.

2016-  Wentz, Seumalo, Smallwood, Big V, Countess, Mills, McCallister

2017-  Barnett, Sidney Jones, Rasul, Hollins, Pumphrey, Gibson, Gerry,  Qualls.     There's a strong chance Barnett is gone, leaving us with NO players from 2017 draft.

2018-  Goedert, Maddox, Sweat, Pryor, Mailata

2019-   Dillard, Sanders, JJAW, Miller, Thorson

2020-  Reagor, Hurts, Taylor, Wallace, Driscoll, Hightower, Bradley, Watkins, Wanogho, Toohill

I bolded who I thought are roster locks for 2021.  I left out Carson, Dillard, Mills, Maddox, Pryor and JJAW for obvious reasons.  Hightower and Bradley are hardly locks IMO and

13 out of 41 possible draft picks (including the traded picks) are most likely on the roster in 2021, 4 or 5 will start depending on QB.  Sanders, DG, Reagor, Mailata and Hurts.  Sweat is still a role player, I don't see him starting.  Somehow Blake Countess is still on the roster as a futures contract I believe.  Mills is a FA but I think he might be back, until then he's off the team.

I know that some of the players who are gone contributed to SB52 but to have less than 1/4 of your draft picks from the last 5 years on the team with 1/4 of them as starters is just horrible, horrible drafting.  This doesn't even take into account the players they passed on or could have possibly moved up for if they were more aggressive.  How Jeff Lurie can look at this and say good job Howie is beyond me.

Countdown to AFan telling me this is great draft production in 3..2..1...

Last year. Yeah, Dillard really sucked, couldn't block worth a damn given he had a torn bicep.

Things would have been better if our guys weren't picked by other teams before we were on the clock.

On most teams I would think that kind of insanity would be enough to get the person responsible for it fired.

I just posted a small roundup of the last 5 drafts.  If Barnett leaves, we have no one from the 2017 draft.

If JJAW leaves, 2 of your last 5 2nd round picks are gone.

So out of 5 drafts you might be out 3 1sts and 2 2nds.

No, that makes it OK because the Eagles wanted those guys.  If they didn't want the good players getting drafted then we have a problem.  But they wanted them so we're good.

I was referring to his 2019 and last offseason when i said last year. Cause it’s pretty clear last year and then the next sentence talks about last off-season. If you read the whole sentence and then the following sentence you’d know what i was alluding too. There were rumors before he injured his bicep last year around the draft saying they were shopping him. I know this is a hard concept for you to understand that there were rumors before the draft and now there are again rumors that they could trade him so maybe they were unhappy before the injury or soured on him since before or even after the injury

It must be fun just making up narrative that people don’t say to try to make up arguments no one said. And it was pretty obvious to everyone when i mentioned last offseason i was referring to last year as in 2019 shouldn’t have been that hard of a connection. No there were rumors before and during the draft that they were attempting to move him. And here we are a year later with more rumors that they might be shopping him as well. Interesting maybe the Eagles aren’t as high on him after drafting him and seeing him for a year and that’s why the rumors keep popping up.

there were reports before he was drafted of red flags with his dad saying he doesn’t really love the game and his coaches said he almost quit In high school and college. And on top of that he was an older prospect who is going to turn 24 in his rookie season. Hence why he dropped

I believe there was also a report that the Eagles didn’t do as much research as he should have done because they didn’t expect him to be around when they were picking at the bottom of the first round

Well, we need two OTs.  Plenty of room for both of them.

Lane isn't done yet.  And I strongly believe that Dillard is a bust.
