Do people not realize that Boldin is 14th ALL TIME in receiving yards, including TEs?

Yeah, who would want that level of player on the roster for the next decade?

Jesus and I thought Howie was bad.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Oh yeah and he's top ten in receptions. Ahead of guys like Moss, Reggie Wayne, Isaac Bruce, etc.

Pretty clear some of you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Boldin, for all his greatness, was a late 2nd round pick.

Its not easy to just assume that another WR with short stature and unspectacular speed who specializes in contested catches is just going to be Boldin 2.0.

I never liked comparing draft prospects to certain NFL greats simply because they share the same shortcomings.

Gonzalez has more receiving yards than Boldin, and was a more exp;losive threat, so I guess we should take Pitts over Chase? 😄

To be clear, I'm not saying Chase will ever be Boldin. The size and play style are similar and there is a better comparison between the two than those saying that Chase and JJaw have similar play styles.

I like Bateman, depending on what they trade Wentz for he could be in play early in the second? I mean he could last until #38 I guess.

Doubtful.  Really depends on what he looks like at the combine.  Great combine/good 40 time he could be a top 20 pick.

If it wouldn't be extremely redundant, you could make the argument.

If the Eagles are going to take a "chance" on someone at 6 because he reminds them of Boldin, that receiver has a better chance of turning into the next JJAW, only shorter.  Nobody compares to Boldin.  He was unathletic, unexplosive, and possibly the slowest receiver to ever run, but he made up for it because he might be the most physical, contested ball catcher we've ever witnessed and was a true football player.

Luckily, Chase reminds me absolutely nothing of Boldin.  I don't even know how that idiotic comparison started.  Chase dominated the SEC when he was 19 years old, and he's only going to get better.  He creates plenty of separation, and he's an absolute freak of nature.  These are click bait articles trying to get everyone to outthink themselves, which the Eagles surely will.

Well it's all a type.  Physical WRs who excel with contested catches and will not burn anyone downfield.  JJAW is that type.  Boldin is that type.  Alshon.  Fitz.

They've all got similar styles IMO.  Every type has it's own studs and busts.

I want Randy Moss' type, but that also fits Stephen Hill, DHB, and countless busts.  Lots of teams overdraft horrible football players because they are tall and run fast in a straight line.  It doesn't mean we shouldn't jump to draft the next one though (if they can play football).

But in this NFL where it's all about free space and pinball scoring, that Boldin type is at less of a premium.  We'd all love to add Anquan Boldin.  But you also choose the fits on your roster before you have to then "adapt to what you have."  Choosing types and fits like this is going to saddle us with a certain type of offense, and it might be one that is not in line with the direction of the NFL.

You might want to go back and re-read some of the thread. No one is saying he will be Boldin, just that he's closer to that type of player than Alshon Jeffery and JJaw

What day and time next week will be Nick Foles welcome back zoom press conference?

Jeff Mclane reported that it's gonna be a dual zoom welcome back conference for Foles and TO in his driveway.

Bolton was a stud.  100 catches as a rookie with Jeff Blake as QB, and crap around him at the skill positions.

Also broke the records for fastest to 100, 200 and 300 career catches.

Boldin might be one of the most underrated WR of the last 20 years. Fitzgerald got all the publicity and rightfully so. Fitz was a HOF WR. But boldin was a no. 1 receiver before they got fitz. He put up 1377 yards and 8 tds with garbage at QB the season before fitz got there. And he wound up finishing top 15 all time in receiving yards. I would add on his numbers without Fitzgerald were on average (excluding his last year with the lions when he was done) 1007 yards, 5.5 tds. I also believe from 2000-2010 he was top 15 in receiving yards and he didn’t play 3 years of that decade (was 14th behind TO, moss, holt Bruce, Harrison, smith, Wayne, chad Johnson, hines, AJ, Muhammed (less than 200 yards played 9 years that decade) and mason (played 10 years that decade)— some ahead of him who played more years that decade he would’ve passed with his averages if he got the same amount of years).

Hosted by Donovan McNabb followed by Jeff Garcia having to have a PC right after to confirm that he isn’t ghey...

For those who don’t know Garcia had to have a PC in 02 or 03 when TO suggested he swung from the other side of the plate. Today’s culture would have a field day with that...

Speaking of beautiful, so is this.  I never heard 1 comparison to Anquan Boldin until today, and the only comparison in my opinion is that he has that skill set if he actually needs it.  He is a different player than everyone on the field.  Note the multiple plays where he freakishly hand catches the ball, sizes up what he has to deal with, and embarrasses them with explosiveness, speed, and awareness.  This guy has no weaknesses.

Since we are on the subject of OL, is it greedy to want this guy somewhere in RD 2? Especially with Kelce's future uncertain.

He's not an elite athlete as the video mentions, but he does everything right. Would be a centerpiece on the OL for the next decade. Even kind of looks like Kelce out there getting downfield on plays to maul defenders.

everything right except snap footballs apparently.  L-handed snappers are considered unusual, I'm not sure if adjusting, especially in gun would be easy.

I don’t mean this is any slight to Chase at all and I mean this as a high compliment but he reminds me of a much better version of Dwayne bowe. Bowe When he came out was a first round talent and was 6’2 220. Ive seen chase from 6’0+ to 6’1 205-215. The reason why I say a better version of bowe is because I think he has better speed then bowe and just better athletic talent than bowe. But he is big body and physical with good hands like bowe had coming out of LSU. Like bowe he doesn’t have elite elusiveness or speed. However i do think he’ll run better and testing will prove him to be a better overall athlete than bowe. It’s why bowe went towards the end of the first round and why I think he’s going to be in the first 8 picks. Bowe had some good years with the Chiefs but I think Chase is going to have a much better career than him.

This isn’t a well they both went to LSU by more i think their strengths are similar, how to best utilize them and both are going to have similar "weaknesses” although i think chase’s weaknesses aren’t as glaring

One of my best friends, a giants fan, sent a baby Mcnabb jersey to my wife for her baby shower, with the following note: "a reminder to be aware of choking hazards.”

It’s a guarantee that one of Pitts, Chase, Smith, or Waddle will be available at pick 6. Can’t wait for Howie to F it up in some way shape or form

Well, they’ve all got some downside.

Pitts could become just a really good receiving TE who doesn’t block well.

Smith could break in half and fail to stay healthy in the nfl.

Chase could become a 6’ possession/slot wr.

Waddle could be the latest speedster who can’t really play the position full time.

With our luck, whichever one we draft will realize that downside while the others set a course for Canton.

It’s worth taking note that Pitts might actually have the highest floor and highest ceiling of the group.  I’m still not 2 feet on that bandwagon, but I’m considering it.
