If people want the Eagles to take one of the WR's at 6, there is really no good argument against taking Pitts. He isn't just a TE, he is an offensive weapon and mismatch nightmare for defenses to deal with.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Speaking of beautiful, so is this.  I never heard 1 comparison to Anquan Boldin until today, and the only comparison in my opinion is that he has that skill set if he actually needs it.  He is a different player than everyone on the field.  Note the multiple plays where he freakishly hand catches the ball, sizes up what he has to deal with, and embarrasses them with explosiveness, speed, and awareness.  This guy has no weaknesses.

I would trade up if necessary

Well, they’ve all got some downside.

Pitts could become just a really good receiving TE who doesn’t block well.

Smith could break in half and fail to stay healthy in the nfl.

Chase could become a 6’ possession/slot wr.

Waddle could be the latest speedster who can’t really play the position full time.

With our luck, whichever one we draft will realize that downside while the others set a course for Canton.

It’s worth taking note that Pitts might actually have the highest floor and highest ceiling of the group.  I’m still not 2 feet on that bandwagon, but I’m considering it.

am i the only one who doesn't want to take a WR in the first?

If the Eagles are going to take a "chance" on someone at 6 because he reminds them of Boldin, that receiver has a better chance of turning into the next JJAW, only shorter.  Nobody compares to Boldin.  He was unathletic, unexplosive, and possibly the slowest receiver to ever run, but he made up for it because he might be the most physical, contested ball catcher we've ever witnessed and was a true football player.

Luckily, Chase reminds me absolutely nothing of Boldin.  I don't even know how that idiotic comparison started.  Chase dominated the SEC when he was 19 years old, and he's only going to get better.  He creates plenty of separation, and he's an absolute freak of nature.  These are click bait articles trying to get everyone to outthink themselves, which the Eagles surely will.

It’s that time of the year. Whose draft takes is it anyway. Where the comps are made up, and the film doesn’t matter.

At #6, ideally we get a long-term talent that is a big part of a turnaround.  In 2021 and given the current state of the roster, IMO, that means either an offensive player or a hyper-elite pass rusher.  No edge prospect like that is in this draft.  On offense, cross off RB or IOL.

That leaves us with QB/WR/OT.  There are some QBs worth talking about who may or may not make it to 6.  There seems to be 1 OT worth talking about who likely won't make it to 6.  And there are 3 pass catchers/receivers, 1 or 2 of whom will definitely be there.  It just seems to line up that way.

I think the fact that he has the "ability" to be a possession receiver is viewed by some people in a negative way. The better highlight reels are always contested catches.  That sounds absurd, but there are plenty of throws in that video that were horrendous and Burrow was under serious pressure, or Chase had plenty of separation.  He just has the ability to do both.

Definitely not, but who do you want to take at 6?

Howie seems to get burnt, often, in the 20's when the group of players he targeted is gone.  We've heard so many whispers of that in recent years and even heard the damn owner talk about it in the last PC.

I know I'm being captain obvious here, but at #6, at least it's easier to run through all the possible scenarios.  Only 5 players can be off the board.  Worst case scenario, you pick the guy who is #6 on your big board.  They just need to be prepared to draft that #6 guy and have a rapid response for what their trade threshold is to get out of the spot and avoid their #6 guy.

The draft gets both more interesting and dicey for us if the QB's fall.  That's where Howie could potentially turn himself into a pretzel.

We all assume, for good reason, they are scouting the crap out of the Pitts/Smith/Chase trio and would potentially be ready to pull the trigger on Sewell if he drops.

Lawrence goes #1.  2-5...If those teams really shock everyone and roll with Sewell and those 3 guys (or at least if 2/3 of those pass catchers are gone, leaving one the Eagles aren't as high on), then we have a really awkward situation.  The Eagles are left with QB's representing the only value at #6...QB's they probably didn't scout with the actual intention of drafting or building around.  This likely would deliver some appealing trade-down offers to the Eagles, which could save the day.  But they might also get stuck pivoting and drafting a QB or a defensive reach on short notice when they did not intend to.

"Welcome to the NFL draft everyone.  Our first 5 picks are complete bc despite these franchises being total disasters, they have a clear vision.  Lawrence, Smith, Chase, Pitts, Waddle.........

And with the 6th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Eagles select, that little D*ck Head, QB, from BYU.

Howie's reputation and prowess was built around his ability to make trades and get what he wants.  That scares me more than ever right now because the QB seems more and more likely the longer this drags out.

Yeah, with three guys who've coached QBs, and a college scouting crew that I'm sure hasn't watched Ohio State or BYU.

I'm sure they haven't look at any of the QBs, like you can scout WRs and ignore the QB.

Trade back and take the BPA’s unless they can only play LT

Doubtful.  Really depends on what he looks like at the combine.  Great combine/good 40 time he could be a top 20 pick.

Could be the pick if we got #20/21... Not that I'm a particular fan of that as at #6 I'd like us to go WR or a little trade back to get Pitts.

This is the same team that traded up for a LT they claimed they didn’t scout well despite having the "best OL coach in the nfl”

Speaking of WRs, someone I wouldn't mind taking a look at is Jaelon Darden out of North Texas. I imagine he'll end up going late, but I think there could be some potential there, especially as a slot guy/returner.

If you're unfamiliar, have a look. He's a fun prospect.
