I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I mean he is an idiot. But your argument against Pitts is that two years ago he was the lesser prospect. That's just as dumb.

And its a passing  league

Reuters did a 3 round mock. Surtain is who they mocked to the Eagles. They gotta think about a Center in the later rounds if they don't already have somebody they like. Kelce ain't gonna be around forever.

I think you need to be more open-minded on Kyle Pitts.  He isn't just a tight end.   He very well could be a Mike Evans kind of WR in the NFL.  His pro day is either going to make him a top 5 pick or push him in to the teens.

Mike Evans ran a 4.53 at 6-5 230.  If Pitts measurements are true and he is 6-6 240, and he runs in the 4.5 range then without a doubt I want him as a WR.

I do agree with th argument you've made a few times that there are numerous other tight ends in the draft that are going to be good.  Pat Freiermuth from PSU is a tight end I like but he's coming off an injury and he's a tweener at 6-4 225.  That's Trey Burton size.

I like Ohio State's Jeremy Ruckert, 6-5 250 as your traditional tight end.  I see a lot of Brent Celek in his game. I think he's a 3rd/4th round pick.

OI know there are a few others that are going to be good pros as well.

I don't like Surtain at 6 at all.  He's Malcolm Jenkins light if you ask me.  What I mean by that is he's a great NCAA corner but I think his game translates to safety in the NFL.  People thought Malcolm was a no brainer, 1st round corner but he didn't find his success until he made the move to safety.  I just see the same career trajectory for Surtain.  Not worth pick 6.

Speaking of beautiful, so is this.  I never heard 1 comparison to Anquan Boldin until today, and the only comparison in my opinion is that he has that skill set if he actually needs it.  He is a different player than everyone on the field.  Note the multiple plays where he freakishly hand catches the ball, sizes up what he has to deal with, and embarrasses them with explosiveness, speed, and awareness.  This guy has no weaknesses.

He does make his QB better. Good hands, good at tracking the ball and the body control to catch low passes, high passes, passes falling short and pass behind him. But so similar to Reagor in size and style of play.  I suspect he will do well in the NFL but the Eagles have greater needs. Not sure he is a player you build an offense around.

Hopefully a team will want to move up for someone and make that a viable option.    I don't want them to move down too far... but my ultimate preference would be to slide back twice... once to about 10, then a second time to about 14 -16.

At 14-16, you can grab one of:
Chase, Waddle or Smith if any of them fall and the value fits better.   If not, Bateman is an option without being a tremendous reach (though that wouldn't be my preference).
Sewell, Slater, Cosmi if the goal is to sure up the OL.  And frankly, I'm not sure that Christian Darrisaw might not be the best OT of the bunch, and likely could play LG as a rookie, if Seumalo needs to move to OC.  Having Darrisaw and Mailata would provide two extremely athletic OTs, both ideal for a zone blocking scheme, and could potentially be bookends for the next decade.  Darrisaw likely fits better as an OG than any of the other options, with the possible exception of Slater, with the ability to kick out to OT when the spot opens up.  Additionally, it frees up Dillard to be moved as Darrisaw could be the primary backup at LT, while Driscoll could be the primary backup at RT.  Moving Dillard for even a 3rd round pick would be good return once the Eagles have one of these other OTs in their pocket.

That would give the Eagles a mid-round 1st, that likely should have been drafted higher but fell a little... and a few more Day 2 picks to help replenish the absolute dearth of talent on this team right now.

All that said, Howie will likely stay at 6, and take the 3rd highest ranked WR in the draft, who will be a bust... but will talk about how he had the other 5 very highly rated and he just missed out on them all.   (#Dougsfault  for winning that game against the Saints by having Hurts run so much.)

Sorry, I don't see that at all.  Reagor is a gadget type WR, who likely will be very well suited in the slot and can play the 'Z'.   Chase is an "X", all day long.  Reagor is not physical at all.   Chase is.  Reagor has questionable hands.  Chase's hands are one of his best strengths.

LSU moved Jefferson to slot his senior year so that they could feature Chase on the outside.   Incidentally, Chase in his sophomore season set the SEC record for receiving yards (1780) and TDs (20) in a season... no small feat - both of which were surpassed this past season by Davonta Smith (1890 and 23 respectively).  And as great as Smith was in that blowout over OSU (how many times have we seen that in an NCAA Championship game... 12 rec, 215 yards, 3 TDs... Chase was just as dominant in the previous NCAA CG against Clemson... 9 rec, 222 yards, 2 TDs. absolutely abusing #15 overall draft pick AJ Terrell in that game.  So, take it for what it's worth.  Chase does get a ding in my opinion for having sat out the season and really only having that one breakout season.  But, it was a breakout season for the ages for a 19 year old, first time starter in the SEC.  I don't like him at 6, but I really do like him a lot and see him as having a great upside in the NFL.  He was likely the best WR in the nation for the 2019 season, and IMHO, would have been the top WR drafted last year, had he been eligible.

All that said, the Eagles do have greater needs and they really need to fix the foundation of the team before adding in the WRs.   They also need to find out what they really have in Reagor, Hightower and Watkins.  They were just so bad in all facets of the offense last year, that its not really fair to write them all off.  But, Chase, while not the biggest guy is a very different style from all 3 of those players.

With you here. IMO, the range is 8-12.

Any of these 12 players work for me in a trade down.

WRs (3): Smith, Chase, Waddle
TE (1): Pitts
QB (4): Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance
CB (2): Farley, Surtain
OL (2): Slater, Sewell

Not comfortable with Parsons at 8-12?  Forget that Schwartz did not seem to value LBs.

Speaking of WRs, someone I wouldn't mind taking a look at is Jaelon Darden out of North Texas. I imagine he'll end up going late, but I think there could be some potential there, especially as a slot guy/returner.

If you're unfamiliar, have a look. He's a fun prospect.

TJ Vasher Texas Tech. He’s a fun prospect.
6’6 215 runs well for a big man makes circus catches routinely. He’s one of my sleeper guys.

He does have his faults. Injuries, had some trouble with the law and his production wasn’t as good as expected. Has some trouble against good Physical CBs. Needs some route running work as well. Expected to go in rounds 4–7 right now but I’m expecting him to climb after he clocks a 4.5 40 or better. With his size he’s a matchup nightmare.

Just putting it out there(not particular to you, just in general posting the tight ends

6'5'' 253lbs 4.79 40

6'5'' 256 4.72 40

6'5' 245 4.76 40

6'6'' 240 4.68

In no order, Penn state, Pitts, Boston College(who I love) and the kid from Georgia. All these kids are monsters/freaks any more.

The UGA tight end I'm interested in is just a freshman, Darnell Washington  6-7 260.  That guy is a beast.

I agree they are all monsters and freaks, I just firmly believe Pitts is on another level.  I'd also argue that because of the players around him at UF like you mention that his stats aren't what they could have been.  He wasn't the focal point.  Put him on a team that depends on the tight end and he's got crazy numbers.

His highlight real compares to Reagor’s. I agree he has better hands.  Frankly, at least in college, Reagor had better feints.  That’s the one thing that bothers me about Chase.  He really did not demonstrate a lot of feints and change of speed, before the catch type moves and his jukes are unpolished at best.  He has a high ceiling if he can develop those.  Compare to DJax coming out of college, for example.  Absolutely the best change of speed I have seen, and TO was damn good at that.  Sure looks like Chase should be able to develop that because you see the burst on YAC.  He tracks really well and is crisp in his cuts but he needs more separation techniques.  I really wished he had played this year.  Some of the projected first round talent have similar issues with that additional building of their game that didn’t happen.   I am not talking Jeremy Bloom but there is that fear.  Lot of one year level talent that sat.

Gross, I don't think he play CB at the NFL level...at least LCB.  If everything we assume about Gannon's system is true we don't need a premium pick at the CB position either.

Tyree Jackson, 6’5” 249 4.59 forty with solid three cone and short shuttle for a guy his size.  If he can run routes and catch he could be a heck of a Hback. If he can block he could be an all round TE.  Lot of ifs but nice developmental player.  The Colts developed a lot of low round and UDFA TEs.

The ideal scenario for our #6 is for Lowie to use it in a package to trade Wentz.  If the Colts or Bears are reluctant trade us their #1 for just Carson, then we get creative.  Our #1 and Carson for their #1 and other picks to even it out.  That would get us out of the spot we are in and still be able to get a player like Parsons, Waddle or Surtain later in the 1st round.  If we pick at #6, it's going to be a disaster.

Worst idea I’ve read in a long long time.
