Actually no I won’t.  Let me clue you in.  The top of this draft is not great.  Wide receivers and QB’s galore.   Not great value or studs in this top half of the 1st round.  Not a good year to be picking #6.  So. Yeah.  Definitely prudent to trade down a s get more picks if someone was willing to move up.

Not an ounce of D-Line talent in the top end either.  Greg Rousseau is the best of the bunch and he's a reach in the top 15.  It's a bad year to be picking high for sure.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Has anyone suggested Travis Etienne at #6 yet?

That being the case I don’t think many will be rushing to move up. Hence the compensation for moving back probably won’t be worth it.

It's not a defense. It's a logical reasoning that you are less likely to pick someone who sucks when only 5 draft prospects have been taken

Nah... He can still screw it up, but more importantly, that's just ONE player.  This team needs a lot more than that and can't afford to miss on a top 40 pick, nor on a top 70.

So, even if Howie hits at #6, what confidence should we have that he'll hit on #37 or #70?

This is a bunch of nothing. It can be said about any draft pick any number any GM. The entire draft is a crapshoot.

Max Duffy could be our team MVP

If we sign rod Tidwell then he could be. Arizona has been lowballing him in a contract. Could be at the philly airport as we speak.

I was being serious, I want to do a mock that will piss 4for4 off more than Kyle Pitts

The Crown looked dire to me.  I've not even bothered with it. I feel sorry for the male other halves who have been forced to watch however many series it's been on for.  It's as bad that other one that everyone went gaga over a few years back. No idea what it is called, but you lot ate it up!

Downton abbey.  My wife made me watch the whole series with her about 2 years ago.  That show is responsible for jacking up my post count substantially.

I was forced to watch this, it’s was rough, I mean real rough. I mean I would almost rather just stay at work.

Yep.  You could potentially move down 3-4 picks at a time, still end up picking around 20th but having accumulated extra 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picks every time you moved down.  We could end up with an additional 5-6 picks between 20-70 if Howie plays his cards right.

As bad as some of the takes are in here I'm not sure anyone can top this

How can you say you’d rather we stay at #6 but then admit not knowing much about the players that would be available there?

Would rather trade back a few spots and have a shot at Smith/Waddle/Pitts/Parsons still. But I also would take Chase at 6 if he’s there - even though it’s not "the best value” to draft a WR that high.

Easily. I already did

You think Chase spreads the field?

There are not a lot of teams right now with ample draft capital to move up.  MIA, JAX, and NYJ have capital, but are already in prime position draft-wise.  Trading back from #6 to 10-12 is easily done with a team looking for a QB, but the top of the draft class simply isn’t deep enough to see teams wanting to move up from 20 to 12.

No, the idea would be to do something like this:

Trade from 6th to 9th/10th

Then again from 9th to 12th/13th

Then again from 12th to 15th/16th

Then again from 15th to 20th/21st

Each time you traded down you would accumulate 2nd-4th round picks

Chase can win deep, so yes.

Trading back three times like that is pretty unrealistic.

There's a huge difference between "winning deep" by going up and getting the ball vs someone who spreads the field, especially when it comes to college vs the NFL.  Chase won't be a "field spreader"at the NFL level, he's not that type of receiver.

It is but you never know.  This is an odd draft and some of those top 10 talents could fall into the mid first round range, then you could have teams wanting to trade up etc.

He can win at all 3 levels of the field. So if teams want to play 8 in the box against us, he can make them pay. Players that can't deep don't spread the field at all.
