Of all of the WRs entering the draft, Chase is second in career catches of 20+ yards. He is exactly 1 behind Smith...and Chase sat out this entire year.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

While abusing future first round CBs in the process at age 19.

I like Bateman a lot, think he’s being undervalued.

This.  I would be shocked if Bateman doesn't become a future pro-bowl level receiver in the NFL.

Yeah, but he's comparable to the guy who's top ten in catches and top 15 in yards all time including tight ends. Who wants that kind of player?

There’s a pretty significant dropoff after Chase, Smith, Waddle (top 12)....Bateman, Moore (top 25).

As the president of the Bateman fan club i agree with this statement.

Chase is starting to grow on me.  I've been watching some of his highlights from 2019 and it looks like a lot of his "underneath" stuff was actually "underthrown passes" that he had to let up on in order to catch.  Maybe it was LSU's system that year because Jefferson looked the same in many of his highlights but then exploded in the NFL.

Before the draft last year, I read a lot of negative comments about Justin Jefferson... about his inability to separate, inability to get deep, inability to get YAC, inability to play outside... and even about how he wasn't even the best WR on his own team.  When people said that, they were saying that Jefferson's finalyear was inflated production because of Chase (who greatly outproduced Jefferson, and set the SEC season record for yards and TDs... in his first real action).  There's a lot of revisionist history about Chase going on.   A lot of it is due to sitting out last year, but more of it I see as people trying to sound smart, or have a hot take.  But all this nonsense about him not being Jefferson in the NFL is just ignorance.  Very few people thought Jefferson could do what he did last year in the NFL... and not one person arguing against Chase now thought Jefferson was the better WR one year ago during the draft process... not one.

I'm against WR at 6, but not because Chase is a bad prospect or anything close to that.  Reading the nonsense about Chase I am makes me want to steer clear of this place as it just proves the ignorance of so many, or the need to be different. A year ago, Chase was likely the best WR prospect in the NCAA and would have likely been the highest drafted WR in that draft had he been eligible.  Any criticism of him now was NOT there a year ago.

Yup. I get the concerns about opting out. I get not wanting to go WR at #6. I don’t get the revisionist history. There’s nothing that really wows me potentially at #6, and trading down is the best, but if they have to pick there, Chase to me is the best value. And he may not even last that long.

Pro-bowls are a joke and don’t matter but said comp only made 3 pro-bowls so not worth it.

What?  Trading down and getting more picks all while trading Carson?

How is that a bad idea?  Or are you in love with anyone in particular at #6?  Because I certainly am not.

Idiotic. This would be your offseason-

1. have awful year and get pick 6, the first chance at a blue chip talent in years

2. Fire SB winning coach

3. hire a coach clearly designed to bring Wentz back to his potential as a Reich disciple

4. trade wentz AND pick 6.

no thanks.

I'm the unofficial Treasurer.

If the choice is Chase versus Bateman and an extra 2nd round pick and other picks in a trade down, sign me up for the latter.

I meant to comment on people overreacting earlier, but now seems like a good time.

Suppose we flipped Wentz and 6 and it netted us:

A 1st, 2nd and 5th this year, a player and a 1st and 3rd next year, you wouldn't consider it? I would. For a team rebuilding, six potential players is some nice capital.

No, I don't think this is realistic or that it'll happen, but there's no reason to freak out about it. Not necessarily you, just in general.

Depends. The Colts or Bears 1st? No way. You basically end up trading Wentz for one single late 2nd round pick. Probably less than that. To move from 6 to 20/21 would you take a future first and 5th? It would really depend on the player but that is quite the trade down.

I adjusted it right after I posted, but I added a third.

Like I've said a million times: If Wentz is this terrible QB we should trade with a fairly expensive contract, why do people think we'll make a killing in trading for him?

Not saying you, specifically.

There’s a lot of levels to this for me. I’ve always been in the camp of I’m not trading Wentz just to get him off the team. It has to make some kind of sense to take that big of a dead cap hit. This team tried to float Jeffery out in a trade and every reporter was convinced if they couldn’t trade they would cut him and take $18M in dead money. Yet they brought him back and played him. I don’t believe they will take almost double the dead money just to get rid of Wentz without it making sense.

Second, you are asking for a lot of resources from one team to both trade for Wentz and also make a drastic move up in the draft. If the scenario is the Panthers/Broncos doing this it’s one thing. To move up from 20/21 to #6 plus get Wentz in return, the compensation will more than likely have to be discounted vs trading Wentz and then also trading back. It should be two separate moves.

First of all, nobody is freaking out so calm down. Second of all I’ve seen this team miss on enough 1st rounders under howie to not be excited about flipping 6 for a potential 25. Take a blue chip prospect. Hope to have a perennial great player.

You don’t have to be a burner to spread the field. Out of all the rookie WRs in the draft he’s 2nd in TD’s of 20+ yards, and only one behind 1st place despite not even playing last year. His average is 21.2 yards per reception. You tell me.

Ya know after reading all of the opinions on here on pretty much every player every year I don't want anyone.

I just see no value for Chase at #6, none.

A 6” possession contested catch receiver without burner speed who has 1 year of productivity and sat out rather than play football to maintain his stock because his team lost talent?

At #6?  Hell no.

Count me out for a 6 inch receiver as well. I mean the football would smash him

Maybe he won’t be back 😞

What is he talking about?

Watched a "zoom meeting" last night with Javon Kearse, B.G., Mike Quick, and Spindaro. Quick said something about Eagles needing a good defense this season coming up because they will be playing with a young q.b.. Spindaro immediately told Quick "we have no idea who the quarterback will be yet". Take that for what it is worth

Chase can win deep, so yes.

We need quality. This is why we lost out on Jefferson last year because Howie overthunk and  went for the speed and diversity in a Reagor than just getting the much better player in Jefferson.
I do like both Pitts and Chase. Though I would trade back, I have this team needing close to twelve players, one isn't going to make enough a difference. I'd trade back to 8-11 then again to around 14-17. Pick up a nice haul over the next two/three years. They'll be plenty of quality players around there. Defense and o-line specifically.

IF you can find the trade partners. The problem is there are lots of good players but not  many "can't miss" players in this years draft that would entice teams to trade up

You can HOPE all you want.  This team needs a buttload of good young prospects.   Not a tight end or tiny WR or another who hasn’t played in over a year.  Because that’s what you’re gonna get at #6. The value is not there.  There is not a lot of "blue chip” talent at the top of this draft.

Honestly, if we trade away a bunch of the old vets for picks I would also rather maximize pick 6. We need some very good talent as well as just talent.

I would like to see Reagor with someone that has talent lined up on the other side of him.  Not Alshon, JJAW, Ward.

Plus since we're gonna suck this year. We'll get some nice picks again next year.
