The less obvious worrisome thing in that tweet is the eagles draft a qb at 6th. Not that they draft one. If you love one then by all means. but the fact they legitimately could wind up drafting a QB just to draft one cause you need a franchise QB and not because they actually love the kid but talk themselves into it.

I wish I was a fly on the wall in those draft room meetings with Lurie and Howie

Scouts: "Here are our copious amounts of analytical data about all the players and positions we can go for at #6"

Lowie: "Thanks. Where's the next Rusell Wilson?"

Scouts: "Um, what?"

Lowie: "Which QB in the draft is going to be the next Rusell Wilson?"

Scouts: "Ummm. Trey Lance?"

Lowie: "Sold!"

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

IF you can find the trade partners. The problem is there are lots of good players but not  many "can't miss" players in this years draft that would entice teams to trade up

Of course, that's always an if. But that would be the goal and they must be a little flexible. It's definitely not as strong a draft as last years and we botched that up too, so what's the difference anymore. This team can botch up even the most easiest of selections. There's enough quality guys in my book in that 12-20 range I'd be more than happy with.

I would be very pleased with a 2nd-rounder plus more assets.

The Rams had to GIVE UP A FIRST ROUND PICK in order to rid themselves of a similar QB.

They got Stafford in the deal.

And didn't even have a 2021 first to give.

Yeah, we should have kept Riddick over him, look at his success, or Grigson or . . . nevermind.

The Eagles are a 4-11-1 team.

They have a dearth of young talent.

They piss away draft picks on trades for players that they do not use.

They have paid huge contracts for underperforming vets.

They are trying to dump their franchise QB.

But sure, Howie is doing a great job.

P.S. - spare me a list of names.

Again.  What "blue chip” guy do you want at 6? That’s twice.

Let me be clear- I don’t give a F what you ask me or how many times. I’m sorry that wasn’t clear to you. Your position is no talent will be available at 6. We’ll see. I’m betting you’re wrong.

Read the 15 posts I have made about it.  It’s wise because we need a ish ton of young talent.  Not a wide receiver at 6.  But hey why even have any discussion about the draft if Howie is going to blow it anyway?

This guy just doesn’t get it

Ive said this before i could totally see some draft analysts leading up to the draft saying that Lance reminds them of a Patrick mahomes when he came out. I can totally see draft pundits saying it and building him up like that. I don’t think he’s the prospect mahomes was nor was his competition what mahomes faced

Frankly i think Wilson is going to be gone by 6. Unless the Jets are blowing smoke for someone to deal up to 2 for Wilson i think he’s off the board. Maybe the eagles get a 1st for wentz and deal 6 and the first for 2. I think that’s a steep price for Wilson. Who i like but don’t love. With Fields i still think some team is going to trade up with the dolphins or bengals. So if you want him likely have to move up. I could see atlanta taking fields and sitting him for a year behind Ryan. I think Lance if they stay 6 is most realistic. I actually think Lance has a super high ceiling. Maybe even more than fields and Wilson if developed properly. However he isn’t ready. Likely needs a year. And i also think his floor is much lower than Wilson and fields. His ceiling and floor levels reminds me of josh Allen’s when he came out. I don’t think there’s an in between. He’s likely a bust or a homerun. However it scares the crap out of me CBS yesterday had their draft analyst say he believes Mac jones could get into the top 10. If they took jones at 6 That would imo make this place burned down

Where are you going to go to **** about the Eagles?

Trade Wentz for a 2nd

Draft Pitts with #6

Draft BPA with both 2nds, and 3rd

Draft Trask with 4th

Yup, it will be on to the next person (probably quarterback) to hate.  What's funny is they act like they are all about what's best for the Eagles then they make a statement about bringing him back just to carry a clip board to teach him a lesson.

The part where they believe Hurts would win the starting job over Wentz in training camp is what makes me chuckle

I'm not even sure he would beat Foles out in training camp

Taking Pitts at 6 would be mine, but that would probably be equally bad. Taking a QB at 6 or higher would be so on-brand for this organization. They'd essentially be throwing in the towel on Hurts, who they burned a 2nd rounder on just a year ago when they could have taken a guy like Chinn who would have been a solid starter/contributor on defense. In a way I get the mentality because as a franchise you'll be in the perpetual doldrums until you get a real QB1. I just don't know if this is the year considering I'm not sold on anyone outside of Lawrence.

Trask is the interesting one to me. Brian Johnson coached him at Florida so there is a connection there. But that would be a trade back scenario considering 6 is too high to go with him unless if they want to reach.

If the Jets aren’t going to draft Wilson and trading that pick to capitalize on the QB value I could totally see the Eagles trying to maneuver their way up to get Wilson. I think of the three quarterbacks behind Lawrence the one I could see the Eagles falling in love with the most is Wilson. and not just because his last name is Wilson. I think they fall in love with his arm strength and that he is athletic to run what he needs to and if developed right beat you from the pocket with his arm and has an elite arm . To be perfectly honest I kind of think they would talk themselves into that he could be what wentz was supposed to be when they drafted him 2 in 2016.

It wouldn't be a reach for Trask at #6, it would be a word that's not even invented yet.

Sure it has. It’s called clusterF

How is it wise to pass on better talent at 6

In a normal year, you could have a point but this year's draft is unusual in the sense that you might get "just as much or better" talent at 20 than you would get at 6.  It's a different year and add the fact that there is no combine, the first 20-30 or so picks really are a crap shoot, imo.

So what free agents can the Eagles afford? It’s kind of funny that there is zero discussion of free agency in the blog because of obvious reasons.

An Eagles fan called into Bob Papa and Charlie Weis this morning and asked if the Eagles will draft a QB.  Weis replied "They’re going to take Kyle Pitts, and Eagles fans will be very happy they did.  He’s the best TE to come out in an awfully long time”

Looks like you’re gonna have to come to terms with it; it’s a foregone conclusion now. 😂
