This cant be true, or some of the previous Ertz stories cant be true. Something has to be made up because all of these things together make no sense.

Coaching obviously gets blame but not all the blame.  Wentz gets a share of it too.

I'm willing to bet there are some.  I dont know who for sure because I cant take every QB and put them in the Eagles offense and see how they do.  But I do know that many QBs in the league are more accurate than Wentz.  That alone would make them play better.

I would argue Wentz made the offense look better than it actually was through 2018 and 2019.  Even Cowherd says Wentz dragged the Eagles into the playoffs last season with nothing on offense but lawn chairs and deck furniture.  It was being held together with duct tape for a long time, and with the Eagles this season starting without a LT and RG, and a badly hobbled RT pretty much meant the whole thing tore apart at the seams.

The final breaking point was the same thing that happened to Andrew Luck in 2015; the OC (in this case Doug) decided this season that the offense needed to change to a downfield scheme, with longer-developing plays.  I remember very well a lot of NFL observers saying the Colts were going to get Luck killed because they have him holding the ball too long behind a porous OL.  Same complaint people had this season about the Bengals having Burrow throw so often behind a bad OL.  The Eagles put together the same poor plan that was doomed to fail.
