I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Just watched Justin Fields highlights.   He was fun to watch all year but I never thought I would come back to watch his highlights because the Eagles might take him.  He doesn't look like a franchise quarterback at all.  He'll be an OK pro.  He had a ton of weapons at OSU.

-Chris Olave, had he come out this year would have been better value than DeVonta Smith.  I think Olave is going to be a stud next year and a great pro.

-Jeremy Ruckert is a very nice tight end prospect for the middle rounds.

-Garrett Wilson is going to be very good as well.

Don't want Fields at all

I generally agree. He's good for stats, but opinions not so much. I remember a year ago today he would rip anyone who dared criticize Howie, only to now have completely turned on him.

When it is obvious Howie's issues had been lingering for a while, 2020 was just the capper.

Brought this up about 2 months ago. He jumps on and off bandwagons fast. He’s always done that dating back to the mcnabb era. I believe he did it with mcnabb when he tore his ACL and Garcia went on his streak

Between the 4 major sports, Philadelphians have seen an awful lot of losing. They're at the point where they feel the imperative is for THEM to get more involved. They will be extremely negative when team(s) are losing(not again!?!). But once a winner begins to emerge, they begin to check their anger and begin to help.

I think media personalities have a lot of weight in this town. Too much. Their speculation becomes other peoples' accepted reality. No one wants to be pollyana or rah rah without a reason. Sometimes the negativity can pile on. I absolutely HATE when media personalities use negative speculation to increase interest.

Fields is a tricky evaluation, like a lot of college QBs, because he didn't throw very many intermediate, NFL throws at Ohio State. When OSU was throwing the ball, they're either throwing a screen, or they're throwing it deep. Fields throws a pretty good deep ball. He has very good arm talent. He's tough as nails.

His decision making was concerning in some games, so I wouldn't draft him in the first round for that reason. I'm also not sold on his accuracy. He missed some, he made some, but there just isn't enough film on those type of throws. You'd have to be comfortable with his throwing motion and mechanics to believe he'll project to be an accurate NFL thrower.

Someone can be a nice person and also a git to work with or play power games at their job.  They aren't mutually exclusive concepts.

I'm sure Carson is a good human being, with equally as good intentions (bit preachy on religion for my liking), but it would be naive to say, oh because of that, we'll let him off of being a moody arse of a team mate at times and also being hard to get to do the little things to make himself a better player.

Like many fans, I wish him well and hope he'd stay and work through his issues with the Eagles.  But let's be honest, he's Type A personality and those sort of people are hard to deal with at times.

I agree with this cause i also pointed out some of it. However I’d take him in the first round i just wouldn’t take him or Lance at 6. I don’t think either are guys i love at 6. I probably consider Wilson but i don’t love that idea either. I don’t think any of them are guys i absolutely love where i have to have them.

My fear is that his moodiness has turned into a learning disability. It seems with every game, the NFL is moving a little more faster than him, and he could care less.

There absolutely may be truth to that.  I don't believe anything coming from anyone in media reports.  For all I know, Wentz may be the villain deserving of hate, or may be that genuinely kind person.

I'd guess he's somewhere in between. Anybody who's the #2 overall pick in the NFL draft is likely to have some ego, you don't get there without it. I'll bet he's not the locker room toxin some here would like us to believe. His 2020 play? I'll bet there's more to that than I or most here know.

I have been saying this , Wilson all day long over the rest.....I do like Davis Mills later in draft

There are *multiple* NFL teams that have Zach Wilson above Trevor Lawrence. Mahomes and Kyler comparisons made

The order in which they’ll be drafted is Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance

The best QB prospect list is actually Lawrence, Lance, Wilson, Fields

Either way, it’s not a strong QB draft class

Nope (EMB patent pending), not greend.  He clearly states his opinion as just that.

How does one watch a highlight film where a QB never misses a pass and come back unimpressed  ?  This was pretty impressive as far as his speed goes

Playing like an MVP all season and misses what likely ends up being a meaningless regular season game and this happens. Philly media for you... honestly Marcus hayes and ESP might be the two worst journalists in the city and it’s not even close

Ben finally stepped up when Embiid sat, hopefully this wasn't a one time thing, Ben as a small center in the playoffs when Embiid sits could wreck havoc if he takes advantage of this opportunities in the regular season to refine his game, I mean a "small" lineup with a 6'10 point center?

We’ll have to disagree.   I’m tired of him sitting games out for whatever reason.  But I guess that’s what comes with a 7 foot fragile player. I thought he sat out because of load management.  Was it really because he was scared?

I’m guessing probably 4 games on the road and his back has been giving him trouble anyway prior to the road trip. Plus their next 8 games are very favorable so likely extend him then to get more wins. Add on utah with the altitude, they probably figured to give him a rest and he probably was ok with it.

ESP has gotten better (still a little hot takey, but not as obnoxious as before). Hayes is such a stereotypical, ignorant clown and has one of the most punchable faces I've come across.

It’s amazing they bring him on the radio a bunch of times on both wip and 975. I always just turn it off at that point. I want to say he bashed the flyers for firing hakstol if i remember correctly

The QB decision will be Sirianni's to make, not Howie or Lurie. You don't bring in an OC with a history of working with different QBs, and a QB coach with a history of coaching up QBs, then tell them which QB they have to live with - so if Sirianni thinks Hurts has the potential to be a top ten QB, they won't tell us, they'll just not draft a QB early.  If Sirianni felt it was worth keeping Wentz, he'd have sat down with him, hashed out any issues and made it work.

The reason Hurts might appeal to Sirianni is a combination of intangibles (leadership, work ethic), athleticism, 4.59 40 at 225 lbs and great elusiveness as a runner, a good but not great arm that could be improved. Given the offense Sirianni is bringing from Indy, having a gun is probably the least important attribute for a QB. I could care less what people on this board think of Hurts, I figure the new HC's expertise is QBs and WRs, and you have to trust him (or you hired the wrong guy). Now if Trask is available in the 3rd rd we'll find out how much Johnson really thinks of his college QB.

People put too much stake in rumors in pro sports, there's more misinformation out there than in Putin's Russia or a Q'anon string.

Sirianni said it himself. Howie has final say over the final 53. He has say over game day roster.

Right. As if it's Embiid's personality to want to "sit out" games.  That guy would play 82 games a season if it were up to him.

A lot of people probably don’t know that Ohio State runs quite a few option routes that don’t occur until the WR is 15 yards downfield, far more than most teams. That naturally leads to times where Fields looks slow or has a miscommunication with a WR.

I believe he and Olave had one on the final interception that ended the semifinal vs Clemson two years ago.
