A betting site isn’t trying to lose money?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If you want to ignore the fact that the betting odds of Wentz getting traded to Indy drastically changed on their site today, you are more than welcome to do so. Whether it's Vegas,  Colorado, or bum F nowhere people don't F around with their money. Also, as of yesterday you had Albert Breer saying that Chicago was the favorite, so yes this could possibly be a development.

Breer said today Wentz could be holding up a trade to the Bears to go to Indy. Along with several other reporters. That’s our point.

You are making my point for me. The situation appears to be coming down to the Eagles and Colts finalizing a deal in the coming days. That betting site drastically changing their odds today is just another indicator of that.

Well, we basically traded a 1st, 2nd, Bradford and Maxwell for Wentz.

We got 3 playoff appearances and a SB. If we get back (2) 2nds and a 3rd, I'm happy. One 2nd and one 3rd, not so much.

I cant believe they traded him to Indy AND Chicago. Take that Vegas!

The betting site changing their odds is because of people speculating today. Just like people speculated the deal was imminent. Just like people speculated it wasn’t. Just like people speculated it was a 1st, 5th, Foles and Cohen. Just like it was speculated Reich wasn’t interested in him. Just like it was speculated the best offer was 2 2’s. Just like it was speculated their was a better offer than that. Etc, etc, etc

Its more than likely stuff like this influencing betting odds than them having some inside info you aren’t hearing a peep from Schefter, Rappoport or anyone with clout.

People have to stop fretting about Howie, far from thinking he's the smartest guy in the room, Howie has always brought in "football guys" like Douglas and Weidl b/c he knows he's not the most knowledgeable football guy in the room. The key is having the right guys feeding him info.

Doug only worked with two QBs as a QB coach, Vick and Foles (rookie year), and Alex Smith as an OC

Schwartz probably hasn't done much hands on coaching for a decade or longer.

Now of the assistant coaches, who has stood out after 2017 other than Stoutland (a holdover from Chip, of all people).

2018:  Groh OC, Taylor QB, Wilson DL, Flajole LB, Undlin DB. Undlin was Detroit's DC for one year, then fired. Wilson is DL coach for U Colorado.

On the new staff, Sirianni has hands on experience as both a QB and WR coach, as OC (Luck, Brisset, Rivers), Steichen QB coach 2016-19 (Rivers), OC (Hebert). Johnson as QB coach worked with Trask and Prescott, he's coached QBs at Utah, Mississippi and Florida. Michael, the TE coach, was QB coach on the Titans 2016-17 (Mariota), and OC 2014-15. That's more hands on QB coaching than any Eagle staff. Michael coached Gates, Delanie Walker, Sales-Jones, and Alie-Cox at TE.

Additionally, Reich, Sirianni, and former QB coach Marcus Brady who is now the Colts offensive coordinator would sit in on weekly protection meetings and were deeply involved in planning the pass protections for the week. This included the quarterbacks, running backs, and the offensive line all meeting together, and that process is likely one that Sirianni will continue, and is a large part of why the Colts have been so good in pass protection over the past 3 seasons.

Rocker was DL coach for Tenn 2011-13, U Georgia 2014-16, U Tenn 2017-19, South Carolina 2020.

Dennard Wilson was DB coach for the Jets from 2017-20, Rams 2015-16, and was a pro scout for four years.

Gannon has 3 years of DB coach and 3 years of college/pro scouting.

Point is this "young" staff has a lot of hands on coaching experience, and some scouting experience as well (better communication with the personnel people). The Eagles biggest issues - QB, WR, DB - and that's the strength of this staff. Stoutland is an elite OC coach, and Rocker has had success at coaching DL. So they'll have a better idea what they're looking for in prospects and UDFAs.

Given that they're focused on rebuilding, I expect the next two drafts to focus more on long-term ceiling than immediate help.

Hopefully, they've got a better medical staff, and get better judgments on player durability and recovery from injuries.

Damn you write a lot

Per usual, misleading.

Good thing I took that two team parlay

The other issue with Wentz to the Colts (and Lowie stands to lose the most from this) is that it has the most potential to blow up in our faces.

Wentz to Chicago?  Meh.  I bet he never wins a playoff game there.

Wentz to Indy with Reich in a dome?  That's going to be a few years of highly competitive football while the Eagles are a bottom 3 team in the NFL.

The AFC sucks.  Chiefs are king.  Bills are trying to do it the right way, but we all have no clue how much staying power they have at this point.  The Titans, Ravens, Steelers, and Browns are complete frauds moving forward.  If Reich figures Wentz out again, that might be the 2nd best team in the conference.  Of course, if Wentz plays like 2020...

Take away the talent he had playing WR, OL, and Dougs play calling, Wentz had 3 problems that resulted in him being a bottom 5 QB in 2020.
Pocket awareness (internal clock since Pee Wee football), really bad footwork that wrecked his accuracy and contributed to weak sideline passes, and poor decision making.
All QB’s except Brady go through stretches of bad mechanics, that’s off-season and in-season work, some QB’s work on it year round, definitely fixable. Poor decisions that led to  some of his bad throws like the one to JJAW against the Rams into basically triple coverage and resulted in an interception was awful. That could be pressing, or even overestimating his arm strength.  Carson has been really good throughout his career on interceptions and the lack of them in his first four years proves that.
Carson’s pocket awareness even as a rookie was decent, now in 2019 when the OL wasn’t terrible he took some bad sacks but even then for the most part he was trying to make something happen, and he does fumble a lot being surprised by pass rushers, so his eyes in the back of his head needed cheaters. This year was different and hopefully most of it boils down to Hurts being drafted, the O line being an absolute mess, and his general lack of talent surrounding him on the field, cause this year, Wentz was blind, he didn’t really have happy feet like David Carr who was sacked 37 times by halftime every game, that spidey sense all great QB’s have was completely gone and that’s why there are only 2-3 really going after him.  You don’t practice that, it doesn’t come with more reps, that’s something that should always be there.  If Hurts being drafted and his feeling the team didn’t care about him messed up that clock, the next time he’s traded it’ll be for a 4th round pick. You can’t take that anger or being upset into games, that’s weak.     Hopefully it was a team issue, since most of the team was pretty damned awful in 2020, and once he gets in a new city, he’ll be back to his old self.

I was there for that in the end zone right in front of Freddie. It was awesome. We also took that place over.

Remember watching this live with a friend of mine who is a Cowboys fan, which made it even better.  Loved hearing Madden after the play say that was amazing.

This might be the most amazing Eagle TD pass of all time:

Me too.  On the five same side about midway up.  It was close to half Eagles fans.

I think it's been safe to assume from day 1 of the offseason that Carson wanted out.  I don't begrudge him that.  This place is a dumpster fire.  Whether he wants out badly enough to force a trade or if he'd be willing to make the best of things...that's the more important question.  Because I'm wondering if he's being shopped because he's forcing a trade or because the Eagles want to trade him regardless.

First we heard that the Eagles were only screening for coaches that wanted to fix Wentz.  Doug was out because he wanted to move towards Hurts.  Then we heard the EXACT opposite.  Doug wanted to fix Wentz and the FO was ready to move on.

So the only thing we know for sure is that misinformation and misdirection are percolating everywhere.  I would like to know what the Eagles actually, originally wanted to do with the QB decision and if the Wentz shopping is of their own doing or if Wentz forced them into it.

Come now, you got 34 million reasons why you know it’s not the Eagles who everybody says hates admitting mistakes. If Wentz showed any form of contrition there wouldn’t be these insulting offers. He is forcing their hand and teams know it. Bad indications are that there are so few offers while seeing these lowball overtures

That’s my number 1, this one is top 10 because Vick just flicked his wrist and the ball flew out of his hand for a TD to DJ.

This was my favorite play prior to Philly Special:
