I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I know the coaches blow but hes in his 5th year.  He should be better than he is.

Coaching obviously gets blame but not all the blame.  Wentz gets a share of it too.

this doesnt take into account the fact he had the worst oline in the NFL, historically bad, 14 different starting combos in 16 games is an all time record.

Nor the fact that we had near the worst Wrs in the league

coupled with a hc who abandons the run game, calls a 55 pass to 9 runs game. Even though we know a balanced attack would actually help that bad oline and negate the bad wrs, help a struggling qb out.

yes he should be better, so should the oline, wrs and most of all the HC be better at putting the game plan together and calling plays

no qb succeeds in this situation, maybe does ok a game or two, but for a stretch of games? not gonna happen. wouldnt/didnt matter who the qb was

I'm willing to bet there are some.  I dont know who for sure because I cant take every QB and put them in the Eagles offense and see how they do.  But I do know that many QBs in the league are more accurate than Wentz.  That alone would make them play better.

everyones more accurate till they get punched in the mouth.

I don't think there is a single person that has posted to the blog that hasn't said that.  Does it need to be mentioned everytime we complain about the roster, or the playcalling, or the way they put the wrong players in positions?

And the point would be what? No pick would have made a difference this season.

Most years it's your 2nd and 3rd year players who are the key to success, not rookies.

If Taylor and Bradley join Edwards and Singleton to make this an above average group next season, the draft was a great success, if they're cut by year 3, it's a failure.

And what backup QB that could actually play could they have taken instead of Hurts, the next Thorson? Eason #122, Morgan #125, Fromm #167, never took a snap and may never take a snap.

Wrong

Interesting development here between the FO and Carson.

Not sure I believe that one either honestly "sources" . "Next up Howie passes a note. Do you love me check yes or no?"

Yeah, because Ertz has such good feelings about Roseman and the Eagles right now.

Likely very bogus. It's not like Howie can't ask Wentz himself. Besides I don't think it's a blank check for whatever he wants

Would Howie dump Doug to keep Carson?  He likely can't make it work with both of them.  If it were my call, Doug would be gone by lunchtime.  He's shown very little over the past two years to indicate that he can turn the trends around.

Empowering the architect of the decline with this decision would be either complete incompetence or insanity.  While you could justify retaining Doug, as this year won't be competitive, there is no justification for retaining Roseman.  Plus, we don't know whether Carson perceives HIM as the actual/bigger problem.  There is more evidence of that actually (reaction to Hurts pick, perception of who makes the decisions in the organization, latest Ertz "reach out" story).

Let's not pretend that Jeff Lurie hasn't show ridiculous levels of loyalty to Howie, so right, wrong, or otherwise, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Howie could have to make that call.  Those types of ultimatums do happen.  Carson could easily say "it's me or Doug" and that decision has to occur.

I agree, but wanted to point out the level of either insanity or incompetence that would be required to allow this... it's beyond anything I ever expected to see as a fan of the team.  What I am seeing now, with the decisions being made, state of the roster and salary cap, etc. is the Browns or Bengals.  Maybe the Jaguars.  Retaining Roseman in this situation was Lurie's crossing the rubicon moment.  This is no longer the Eagles franchise I have come to expect.

Hopefully it changes sooner than later, and course is corrected.  Until then, welcome to the continued decline.

People keep saying this but the truth of the matter is Doug can't make anything work with anybody. He refuses to use player's strengths and insists that they conform to him.

Yada, yada, 5th year, yada...........................quarterbacks have bad years. They especially seem to have those bad years when they have less than 2 seconds almost  every play to find an open receiver and his coach calls plays that take 4 seconds for the receivers to get open .

If Hurts would have been any less mobile he would have royally sucked and not just been meh. Yes some of this is Carson's fault but can we stop acting like he's sucked for 5 years

Agree, but are they accurate enough to throw in 2 seconds to a covered receiver and somehow get the ball through?

Plain and simple, till Doug is gone, to me this will be a 8-9 team at best. Now with the Giants and Redskins starting to click and Dak being back next season for the Cowgirls, that number for me is dropping quickly. Doesnt matter who the DC is they hire, who they draft etc, or who the starting Qb will be. Until Doug is gone we will be no better then .470. No more .500 teams with a 17 game season. Your either a wining or losing team now. My early prediction next year will be 6-11(yes we have 17 games next season)

I agree.  He can't manage his offensive staff or his players.

Its funny, cause what happened yesterday in Washington has been going on here for months. Many different groups.

A- Wentz supporters vs Hurts supporters

B- Doug supporters vs Howie supporters

C- Then there are the people who just sit back and dont care and laugh at both fighting.

D- Then you have the group that just wants to see the whole thing burn to the ground, lol.

Sign me up for group D, burn it all to the ground :)

You cant believe anything so called "journalists" report these days. It's all a rush for  clicks/likes. I refuse to support them.

I just wait for the actions, that's really all we need to know. Who stays, who goes.  The rest of it doesn't matter. Actions speak louder than words.

If we can see it why can't Lurie. Wentz doesn't need to go Doug does and he can take the genius Howie with him.
