I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Posted Images

Can’t say I am not surprised.  This gives some suggestion that the reports on his coachability were founded in some fact.  Would not be surprised if the Eagles resign Sudfeld or pursue Brissett.
I expect they will be dumping the contracts of over thirty players in trades as much as they can.  I expect a concentration on OL in the draft followed by DL when there are worthy targets.

I also suspect they learned something about guaranteed money and extending into pretend years.  I think we are on the brink of a change on how free agency and second contracts are approached.  Maybe drafting QBs in first round and avoiding monstrous contracts may become the norm.  Something to note is a HC often likes to develop his own QB.  I won’t be surprised if the Eagles draft a QB but I won’t be surprised if they don’t.

I also think Howie may be on a shorter leash than we believe. He made this cap issue and better he fix it than not.  But I also am not convinced that Weidl, Patch and Dorsey may have more say in the draft than Mr. Consensus does this year.

Compensation is better than what the Rams got for Goff.  It will do.  Rather have a shot at a 2022 first than a 2021:first or second.

Next up is probably Ertz but I wouldn’t be surprised at a Kelce deal.  A Barnett extension would not surprise either. $10 million is too rich for him and $18 million is too much for Graham.

To be fair, taking a "Texans stance" is easier when you have a Deshaun Watson caliber player

We'd be a top 10 offense immediately with Aaron Rodgers, assuming it's the 2020 version.

We all do.

I guess you can finally change the lower part of your signature....though this day became inevitable over the last month, it still feels like a bummer. And I think the trade was actually a good deal for both teams.

Glad Carson "The Cancer" Wentz is gone. Fortunate we got anything in return at all to get rid of these primadonna headcase.

Depends what you're evaluating.

Once Wentz has to leave, it's a sunk cost. At least this team is smart enough not to double-down

34 million is not sunk cost to the owner ,you can count on that.  34 million could have allowed the eagles to land  a cpl young free agents , they basically paid 34 million for Wentz to go away.

Wentz was never a mechanically sound QB who threw accurate throws to receivers in stride.  His best attribute was his ability to escape and extend plays with his athleticism and his contortion.  He is broken down now and still tries to play that style by holding the ball too long.  His best days are behind him.  I think you can build a contender around him with a good o-line, receivers and defense.  I don't ever see him carrying a team and willing them to a Super Bowl though.

Nope

Wentz gets a ton of blame but the OL was horrible until they finally settled at the end of the year.

I'm not saying the O-line didnt have issues but there was also plenty of times where they did protect and give him time yet he hesitated to throw it and it ended in a sack.

But Carson has no protection!!!

If Fields is available at 6 would you trade Hurts to Bears for 2nd round pick?

If Sam Ehlinger is available at 6 I would trade Hurts to Bears for a 2nd round pick

In the final days, the Colts wound up being the only real suitor for Carson Wentz. The Bears, per sources, did a ton of homework, and had institutional knowledge on him, but never actually made an offer for Wentz

I’m guessing having a top 5 oline, top 5 defense, good running game and 50 million in cap space to add to Pittman, pascal will probably help make it easier for the colts to have success with him.

I agree with that.  I just posted a similar statement.  We are not in the same boat as the Colts.  We need everything and have no cap space.  Wentz would not work here.

You have  4 QBs going in top 10, chances  of 2 being very good are about 10 % if not less. Heck just finding 1 out of 4 to be special is slim.

For whatever reason  the vast majority of top 10 QBs just don't work out these dayd

I think I would trade down and increase my odds of hitting on a few picks , more picks better odds.

Just look at the stat from the 2016 draft that 0 out of 22 quarterbacks or something along those lines are no longer with the team that drafted them.  I'd argue that Goff/Wentz were a level above Fields/Wilson/Lance and look at them now.

Let Hurts be the guy, build the roster with young talent and don't waste picks trying to trade up for a questionable quarterback.

Don’t disagree with that. However the reason you are in the position you are is due to poor contracts, roster construction and bad drafting. Wentz played like crap this year but the eagles problems are way beyond Carson. It’s been trending the wrong direction for 3 years. Foles and wentz saved the eagles ass down the stretch for two years and it covered up the bigger issues. Thankfully we have the guy who’s been doing all that gone in doug and wentz. Lol.

Can't trade players before the new league year in order to get under the cap. Might have to cut Ertz.

It's hard for any O-line to protect for 10 seconds.

No they didn't.  That $34M represents money already paid to Carson in the past.  It is the very definition of a "Sunk Cost".

The foolish thing would be to keep him around and waste even more money on him as the Washer brigade wanted.

I have an EMB patent pending on that.  Have to recoup all the royalties I have had to pay you over the years.

Reich/Sirianni couldn't turn Brissett into a good starter, so I'm skeptical Wentz will revert back to a top 10 QB. The Colts are good, so he'll be better by surroundings though.

Exactly the same?
