Big discrepancy between spotrac and over the cap. Spotrac before this trade had them at 512k

Colts acquire QB Carson Wentz from Eagles for 2021 3rd-round pick, conditional 2022 2nd-round pick
The Eagles planned to trade Carson Wentz for two first-round picks. So much for that! They couldn't even get a guaranteed, single second-round selection for Wentz, instead settling for a third-round choice and a conditional second-round pick in 2022. The condition is that the pick becomes a first-rounder if Wentz plays 75 percent of his snaps in 2021 (or 70 percent if the Colts make the playoffs.) Given Wentz's injury history, that's far from a guarantee.

Those who support the Eagles have to be demoralized by what transpired. Wentz was the frontrunner for MVP in 2017 prior to his knee injury late that year. He bounced back in 2019 and led the team to the playoffs despite his supporting cast being ravaged by injuries. However, Wentz had his worst season in 2020 - his only bad year in the NFL - and the Eagles quickly gave up on him. Had they gotten at least a first-round pick for him, that would have been fine, but the Eagles sold at the very bottom because they ruined all of their leverage. Howie Roseman used to be recognized as a genius, but this was a panic move. Roseman created a bad situation with Wentz's contract, and he only made things worse by not getting full value.

The Colts, meanwhile, obtained a potential franchise quarterback over the next dozen years for a pair of second-day picks. It's not completely free because Wentz has an albatross of a contract, but Indianapolis had the second-most cap space in the NFL. It could take on Wentz's contract and still have plenty of money to spend on complementary pieces around its new quarterback. If Wentz can bounce back to pre-2020 form, the Colts will be the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, save for the Chiefs.

The Eagles just need to focus on getting blue chip talent. I don't care how many draft picks they have in 2021. I want quality over quantity. Do not rush this rebuild. Do it right.

I'd trade up every single year if there was a guy they were in love with. Need to start adding legit studs to this roster one at a time.

Now that the big eagles news is out of the way I need something from the 6ers. And this one better actually be good.

They likely sign sanders as well even if most people don’t want that. If howie is here still he and the organization did it with Mccoy
