Is there some generational qb worth tanking for next draft? Not that i see yet...

I like Howell from NC, but I don't know if he qualifies as "generational."

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

So what QB we taking at 6?

For a team that is in contention, BG is a valuable piece. $13mm for 1 year for a borderline pro bowl DE is not bad value. Could get you a 3rd and minimal cap savings this year. The Titans need a pass rush.

Cox is 2 years, ~$33mm to another team for a pro bowl DT. Again, a 3rd isn't out of the question, and gets you ~2.8mm in savings.

Gotta be working the phones on those 2 along with Ertz.

I think Howie will go down as the worst best GM ever. Worst best simply because of 2017

He was a Roseman toady before the SB win.

I was one of the few that wasn’t against bringing back Howie Roseman after Chip left. I was willing to give him a chance.  However I’m not foolish enough to overlook the fact that the last decade he has been here there’s been power struggles, controversy, inconsistent rosters and quarterbacks that they gave $100 million to to be franchise quarterback that two or three years later are gone and poor drafting since he’s come back. Afan can say whatever he wants but  if this rebuild doesn’t go the way he plans that 2017 is going to look like the biggest outlier and lightning in a bottle season for the Eagles since they dealt mcnabb.

I could take the Afan optimistic approach and speculate the 2022 1st actually has more value than a 2021 1st because of the uncertainty of this year’s prospects.  I’m pretty confident as long as Wentz stays healthy he’ll be the Colts’ starter all season.

I think it was a total gaffe by Howie not to get a young player thrown in, though.  Surely the Colts have a player drafted in the past 2 years they’re not doing cartwheels over.

So you wanna get rid of any talent we have left.

Right now I think there’s at least a 75% chance the Eagles go QB round 1. QB factory!

Yup that's what QB factories do...☹️

Lance is my bet.

Dump guys who will be over the hill by the time we are ready to compete again.

Slay is 1 year, $12mm gteed for someone to eat. Hargrave is moveable too.

We are tanking in 2021. Embrace it.

I think we'll regret it big time but I also want to see what Nick can do with whoever he wants at QB. I don't know if he wants Hurts or if he wants someone in the draft. Maybe he'll try out Hurts and then get someone in the next draft

We have all of these new coaches and I'm curious what they can do

Also F Howie and I hope he gets fired

Who is that?

Someone who knows absolutely nothing about sports.  An no, not because she is a girl.

I’m a little surprised they didn’t try to take a chance on Campbell. It was supposedly down to JJAW and Campbell. I’m guessing the colts still like Campbell but i don’t think him with his injuries would’ve been a deal breaker for them.

I fully expect the Colts to be one of the top six teams in the afc. Their defense is a top-five defense. Their offensive line is a top-five offensive line. They are willing to commit to the run and they have two good back’s. Pittman should get better. They have 40 to 50 mil in cap space to add in a nice FA wr class. And they still have a first and second round pick this year to add to that. If Carson Wentz just plays like he did in 2019 that team should make the playoffs and be a top-five seed in the AFC. Plus their division is still likely not going to be great if Watson is dealt and Lawrence is a rookie quarterback. Titans are good but they split with the colts last year

He'll draft Davonte Smith at #6.  Finally they'll have a player he has the size advantage over when it's bro hug time.

And no one to throw to him.

Yeah.  Why do you want to keep them around?  You need to look towards 2023 and 2024.  Not 2021 and 2022.

I'm not into tanking.

Lol a 3rd and a future 2nd. If Howie drafts a Qb at 6 I will lose my Fing mind

Prepare yourself... it's extremely likely.

Frankly it’s not gonna be tanking. they’re just not going to be very good. So would you rather just not be very good with players who are valuable enough to get you assets to build towards a future or would you rather hold onto them and be bad. It’s not a good outlook either way

Might as well post this here. Here is what pre-June 1 trades look like. BG, Cox, Slay, Hargrave, McLeod and Ertz are all guys we need to discuss. Brooks is coming off an injury, so likely harder to move. Cut DJack, Alshon, Malik and Goodwin (remember him). See if you can do a friendly deal with Barnett.

Hope so.

If the options are trade up for QB, stay for a QB, trade down and stay for best non-QB available, I'm putting my money on trade-down.

Both Howie/Lurie talked about this in their press conferences. Trading down is also analytically the correct move.

We'd be a top 10 offense immediately with Aaron Rodgers, assuming it's the 2020 version.

Not with the OL we had the first 10 games of the season.

Then you might need to find something else to do on Sundays this fall. There is no reason to keep guys who are over 30 and won't be helpful when we are hopefully good again. The worst outcome of all is going 6-10 or 7-9 and picking in the teens in 2022.

Bigger feeling they likely get a late round pick for ertz or he’s just outright released as teams know we want to move on. I don’t think after the season he had the bidding war is going to be high for ertz at 30 needing a new contract and giving up draft capital.

do think slay and Cox have good value in a deal. Also think BG likely could net you a mid round pick with conditions to be higher

It’s Howie. I can almost guarantee it’s a QB round 1.

Philosophically, I believe in finding difference makers first, or at least solid starters that have the chance to be better than that.  Trading down always depends on what is there.  Many times trading down is the correct move.  At the top of the draft, it is rarely the correct move when a difference making player is available.

I'll take that bet.  Given what we know about Lowie, the overwhelming likelihood is that they will take a QB, either at 6 or with a trade up.  The Factory needs fresh raw materials.

This checks out with what we saw
