Won't happen. Drafting a QB at 6 would be Howie admitting he made a mistake with Hurts.

Idk about that, it may be irresistible for Howie Houdini to not pick another quarterback for the factory.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

In others news it also found one of Carson Wentz's footballs he overthrew to Sanders from this season.

But your brain is still missing, no?

How can anyone not have success on that team, it’s stacked, isn’t it like top 9 offense and defense now? They still have a 1 and 2 as well.

Honestly the colts should be a top 5 team in the afc and could legitimately make the argument top 3 if they get 2019 wentz.   The Chiefs are clearly the best team in the AFC. But the bills almost lost to Philip Rivers and the Colts in Buffalo last year. So if you get wentz from 2019 who I think played better than Philip Rivers in 2020 they could beat the bills and it’s not a given Josh Allen just plays as well as he did in 2021 as he did in 2020. Then it’s the Titans and browns. The second best team in the AFC isn’t out fo the realm of Carson plays like 2019

Like you said they still have a first round and second round pick to add talent and still roughly around 40 million to add talent in free agency in a class that has good wide receivers. That doesn’t even talk about the fact that they have a top-five defense, top 5 oline and good backs. Plus Pittman

Too soon to waste the rookie qb contract

I agree that the better approach is to build the team but I don't think Hurts is the answer.  The problem is that I don't trust the Roseman's judgment on any QB that might be the answer available at 6.

Well according to people like you Wentz is a bum sooooo.

Sigh. You have no idea about Carson or his "strength".

It's cool to make it about his mental makeup, or whatever else.

Trade back in the draft is a given now

The thing is there are 3 or 4 teams in front of us who I think would be willing to trade back too so I’m not expecting it. It would be sweet though

I tend to think getting a franchise quarterback is big with lurie. I really didn’t think they were in the position in 2016 to make that move but he wanted that franchise quarterback going forward and he knew that was important to him in his franchise. So I don’t think this is just a Howie Roseman wants a quarterback it would probably come with Jeffrey lurie is on board that they need to go out and get that franchise quarterback

again i think they’ll scout them but i think they love hurts more than people believe.

I say Hurts , but they need to add a another reciever , beit a TE or WO , and rb.

Not a chance .  Eagles still have to shed 48 million in cap room in the next 27 days to be compliant at the start of the new league year.  Then need to shed another 6-10 million to sign draft picks.  Will not be players in FA minus some depth guys.  The 2021 Eagles roster is going to be brutally bad.

I have to agree with you, and I honestly don't see them thinking thats Hurts.

And they would add a hefty cap hit

I still have no idea why they drafted Hurts last year. I also have no idea how/why Howie is still here.

Yeah, I don't understand the infatuation with Lance when we have Hurts.  I have yet to see Lance do something Hurts can't do.

Not get benched in a college game?

All the reason to roll with Hurts this year and shoot their shot at drafting a QB next year if Hurts doesn't look the part in year 2.  They should be in just as good of position next year to draft a QB as they are this year, especially with that additional 1st round pick in their arsenal.

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/eagles-remain-undecided-qb-2021-after-carson-wentz-trade

"Just because Carson Wentz is gone doesn't mean the job belongs to Jalen Hurts. A source familiar with the Eagles' thinking said all options are open when it comes to replacing Wentz. The Eagles could draft a quarterback at No. 6 or move up in the first round."

You're putting a lot of stock in Howie's abilities to evaluate talent given his track record.

I don't put any stock in Lowie.  Just like I don't put any stock in this nonsense Washer narrative that Carson Wentz is a "franchise" player.

He's not, he never will be, and that's why he had to go.

Don't need him.   Reservations for the blue tent are already overbooked for next season.

I disagree on that. But I’ve also been of the opinion they didn’t draft Jalen hurts to just be strictly back up when they did it. My opinion is  they didn’t know which Carson they were gonna get. End of 2019 or beginning of 2019 and they kind a look at the end of 2019 as fools gold for the team. And they wanted to have an insurance plan in place in case things didn’t go as well with Carson going forward. I think they loved hurts enough to draft him with the idea he might be their future franchise quarterback

that doesn’t mean they don’t do their due diligence in scouting the other quarterbacks in this draft. I think that would just be ignorance on their part if they didn’t scout them.

QB factory and blackmail

Compensation is good IMO. It should be a 1 in 2022, and if it's not, the Colts probably didn't have a good season, and will have a minimum top 50 pick in '22.

There's no cap hit. you just have his rights in case he decides to return

It probably would cost extra. Why would they just hand over the rights of one of their former players

You should watch more of Lance's game tape. He's clearly better then Hurts and has high upside. 2nd best qb in the draft imo
