It's hard to envision a scenario where Wentz plays well, but the Colts aren't that good, but I'll throw out the hypothetical regardless.

Say Wentz is playing pretty well(not 2017 well, but decent) but for whatever reason, the Colts year isn't going well. Maybe it's injuries, maybe it's coaching, maybe it's just one of those years where they lose a lot of one score games with awful luck. Say they're 4-8 at the 12 game mark.

Would they dare bench Wentz, who is playing well, to ensure they don't lose that 1st round pick knowing benching him would likely cause a firestorm and sour Wentz, as it did here in Philly? And risk losing him psychologically going forward?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

First Pittman would be the best wide receiver on the Eagles. They also have pascal who would be better than anyone not named reagor and that’s only cause reagor has more upside. Because at this stage of their career pascal is still a better player than regular has shown so far. And Hilton at 32 would still be the Eagles best wide receiver.

second I do not care how they got them.  Your argument of how they got them makes no difference. They are more proven then the eagles unproven players

third where did I call them useless? Do you like to make up narratives and then run with them because you don’t actually read. I said they were unproven. Unproven means they are not locks to be good or relied upon.

Fourth Johnson and Brooks are both calling off major injuries and surgeries. I can’t expect either one of them to play every game because now they’re going to be 32 and 31 coming off injuries. Brooks coming off his third major injury in three years and Lane has his body deteriorating already. Add on Jason kelce might not even be back

fifth The Eagles have a rookie head coach implementing his new offense where is the Colts are only implementing a new quarterback but have their head coach instability in that organization

Again you’re spin is that the colts are not in a better position offensively then the Eagles is ridiculous. The faraway are because you have cap space to add talent, draft picks to add talent. Add on their offensive line is reliable to play whereas Brooks has had major injuries the past couple years and lane’s body might just be deteriorating on him. Kelce might retire and you have questions at LT with both mailata and dillard as fully proven.

And who do you think coached up all those unknowns who are better than what we have on the roster. Who did Doug's coaches coach up the last four years? Siri has brought in coaches with proven track records of coaching up guys.

Lane is a question, how many games has Brooks missed the last 7 seasons before 2020? He was far enough ahead on his rehab they were hoping to get him back for the playoffs, I'm not worried about him, at 31 he's not old given his level of play and his elite athleticism.  Castonzo at LT has been dinged two of the last three years and will be 33. And in Stoutland we trust - he shows the difference a good position coach can make.

Given how bad Doug's scheme was last year, I'm not worried about Siri's scheme, so they're only 85% on the same page, still a big improvement. And I'll bet Siri will actually call running plays. And pass plays that actually get people open within 3 seconds instead of the most deep routes in the league.

Too many players went backward last year, Wentz, Sanders (couldn't catch or block a blitz), the rookie WRs didn't develop, Fulgham couldn't adjust when he got more attention. Indy does a great job coaching players up, we did a poor job and coached too many players down.

Yes clearly all sirianni. It was strictly him.  F Frank he didn’t do Fing crap as the head coach. It was all nick. F their offensive line coach he didn’t do crap. Just sirianni. F the running back coach he also didn’t do anything. Also screw that WR coach. It was all nick Sirianni developing those players. None of the other coaches on the staff even did anything.

Because the Colts don’t know how to find coaches to replace the ones they lost? They had your coaches to begin with that Frank brought in. So you just assume they’re not gonna get good coaches to replace coaches that are leaving? Even though they did that once before and proven they could do it. Now only the Eagles have coaches come in that are proven to work with young developing players. I guess the Colts were just like you know what we are really hopeless cause we lost sirianni and some coaches. So let’s just give up on 2021 and developing players

Brooks Has had three major injuries in the last three years. That takes a toll on your body especially multiple and as you age. I know because I work in in the medical field.   At some point in time your body begins to breakdown or is not the same anymore. Especially when you consistently keep getting hurt. He might not of missed a lot of games until this year but those injuries accumulate. Eventually the injuries catch up to you and you’re not the same player you once were. Just assuming he and Johnson are just gonna be the same players they were two years ago it’s not a true statement at 32 years old. Expecting them to play every single game when lane hasn’t shown that in three years and Brooks also has had 3 major injuries that knocked him out of playoff games and an entire season

and just so you know Costanzo retired. So they’re probably gonna use that first round pick they have to go get a left tackle so he would then at that point be unproven just like dillard. Or they could sign one in FA with this thing called a cap space

Finally he still is a rookie head coach. I don’t know what Seariani is. I like the higher because I think he’s good at developing younger players however that doesn’t mean he’s automatically going to have success in his first year or as a coach in general. Most rookie head coaches tend to struggle especially when their roster is going to a rebuild and does not have Space to add veteran players to help make the transition smoother. He is going to have struggles as a rookie head coach. Meanwhile Frank reich he’s already in year four as HC. I haven’t even talked about their defense which you’re in agreement they’re not gonna be that good and they’re having a rookie defensive coordinator

again this all goes back to your point the Colts aren’t that much better than the Eagles on offense. Yes they are they have a less question marks going into next year, more proven coaching, more proven offensive talented roster and not strictly relying on kelce coming back, and Brooks and lane who are older and coming off serious injuries.

I agree that the better approach is to build the team but I don't think Hurts is the answer.  The problem is that I don't trust the Roseman's judgment on any QB that might be the answer available at 6.

Hurts is no answer i agree

but rebuild the o-line and secondary. Then we can go after the qb

Return of the Mac?

3 hours ago, LeanMeanGM said:

Because you don’t like the prospects or just overall? Because they have en empty QB room right now

Yes.

None of these prospects seem special at all except Lawrence. Certainly not worthy of a top 10 pick. Add on that it would be an absolute waste of assets to draft a QB that high the year after drafting one in the second round. That's 2 high selections used on quarterbacks who probably top out at being a mediocre starter in the league.

F Howie Roseman

I expect Carson to be alright in Indy. Good QB nothing overly special...Don’t see him winning a SB anytime.

They have a team to win a SB in the next 2-3 years

They need someone. Guessing they can't agree with Henry on a long term deal and they can't tag him back to back years.

Why would they want him?  They have one of the best young QBs in the league.  Ertz would be a great gift to any young QB.

I believe Hunter henry is also a FA. So another reason why they’d want him.
