The good news is things happen in 3s so Philly sports are safe for the next few hours!

Simmons was out with the "flu” yesterday. That could go in a worse direction still.

And the Flyers lose to the Rangers in ot. That puts the cherry on the parfait today.

I’m actually surprised they were able to get a point with everyone that they’re missing. And they really have only practice for two days and they haven’t played a game in what seems like forever

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

What do you think of the Houston edge rusher? Third rounder?

Payton Turner?  I think he is a fourth rounder.  Not real polished with pass rush moves. Nice athleticism should raise him to fourth plus a weak DL draft. May fit 3/4 defense better.

It was pretty much the Phantoms tonight. But it's the dam Rangers.

It’s the Rangers but the Rangers have NHL players, practiced for weeks and played a game recently. You’re asking what the flyers had and two days of practice without playing for like a week and a half to come out there in win. That’s not easy when you haven’t played hockey for more than two practices or a game in nearly 11 days

I can’t give Howie a pass on how we got to this point but he did get a decent trade for Wentz. There was no market it was Indy betting against itself. The Bears may have had an offer but I doubt it was any better than what he got.

What did you think he was worth?

Would have liked a 2nd this year and a 2nd/conditional 1st next year.

Still leaves us light at IOL but I like it. No way Stevenson is available at 228.

Swap out the QB pick in the 2nd and draft a guard.

I mean I hate losing to the Rangers lol.

Funny that he’s going right back to Press Taylor and Mike Groh. I guess Howie, Jeff, and the rest of us will find out soon enough if they should of been fired.

Press I dont know what he's coaching but Groh isnt the OC like he was here and failed.  Groh is the WR coach I believe which he does a very good job at.

I feel you on that. I hate losing in general. Next year when the Eagles suck I will still hate losing. However I can at least understand the Flyers losing tonight. It makes a ton of sense. the fact they played as well as they did I was surprised.

I wish the conditional first was a guaranteed first and I wish Wentz was sent to a worse team, both for the schadenfreude and for the higher draft pick.

Aside from that, it was "fine.”

The NFL should give us some charity draft picks because we are practically an expansion team at this point.

35-32-1 with ZERO playoff wins in 5 years, bad contract, coming off of being the worst starting QB in the NFL, requested a trade, and a large portion of the fan base is flipping out that they ''only'' got a 3rd round pick and 2nd that is likely to become a 1st. Absolutely insufferable fanbase.

Praising Howie for his return on Wentz is like praising Captain Smith (Titanic) for getting the lifeboats half filled.

I get why they had to trade them at this point in time. And I can’t argue that or say they shouldn’t of done it because they are allowed it to get to that point. But I think the more fascinating thing for me going forward is this you’re gonna be able to determine if Carson Wentz’s issues are strictly him and he’s not very good or if it was more of a organizational issue for his decline here. Because if he goes to Indianapolis and has success because their team around him is good and they fix the issues then that tells me the Eagles organization better take a long look in the mirror. Meanwhile if Carson goes to Indianapolis and struggles and he’s not good then tells it is more about Carson Wentz the player then the organization for his downfall.

Granted it could be both Carson wentz struggles and eagle still fail in their rebuild.

First off, I was at work all day, and it's been a hectic/frustrating/ishy week so far, didn't get home til after 8pm EST and when I log on see the headline Wentz has been traded and just read all the way from the first post citing Schefter's tweet about the trade to the last page.  Whew!

Secondly, the question is would Howie get fired if Wentz has success on the Colts with Taylor and Groh when it was Howie who pushed them all out the door?  Or is Lurie that blind?  I think as an Eagles fan who thinks Howie is the toxin in this organization that whether you preferred Wentz or Hurts that you'd have to want to see that aforementioned scenario play out so Howie gets a egg on his face and then we'll know whether Lurie awakens from his evil induced coma or if we're truly F'd.

Listened to an interview tonight with Torrey Smith on NFL Radio.  The guy is a huge Wentz supporter.  A couple of things he said struck me:

Pointed out that no QB in NFL history has ever signed a mega deal, and immediately had another QB drafted so high immediately afterward behind him.  Said Rodgers in GB is totally different situation, with him being in his late thirties

— said all of the innuendo regarding Wentz as a teammate never made any sense to him; when he was there Wentz was always around and accessible to everybody

— Said he spoke with Wentz within the last 1-2 days prior to the trade announcement, and he could tell a huge weight had been lifted off of Wentz.  Said he knew a trade was imminent a couple of days ago.

He is correct.  The most insane and indefensible draft pick in league history.  As I pointed out at the time.

Worm tongue might be the right analogy, but Now I believe this is really the owner.  The SB changed something in him.  Howie is a face to put on his meddling.  I think he is just as responsible for the devastation here and the two of them need to be thought of as one entity... father/son relationship.

Benn going back and forth between 3rd and 4th rounder...has the physical tools it seems. Seemed to do well at senior bowl.
